Am from Costa Rica, we are not used to these kind of games, the news only talk about soccer and soccer and more soccer, am sick of that, can somebody explain me what's the meaning of this sport???

@DaveSwayer, It is a game that has been played in Ireland for hundreds of years now, and many other countries play it. America seem to have a few cities that play it. The aim of the game is to get the bowl or bullet as it is called which is a 800gram ball down a set course in the least amount of throws. It is a very big gambling sport and is most popular in Co. Armagh and Co. Cork.

Why are there so many people there? I can understand the premise of this game. I think I've played it with a mate on the way home once we didn't have money for a taxi. It doesn't quite work though with so many people around. And it's more fun with oncoming traffic.
