Horseygal7302, Yes the horses are given a combo sedative of Rompham (sp?) and Torbugesic (sp?). In Texas only a licensed Vet can give drugs in this class, although there are some good horse dentists who disregard this, continue to drug horses and are still use manually floating. The power floating is great; less invasive, safer and quicker as well. We do it every year. Our Vet, Amy Starr, DVM, of Paws and Hooves Mobile Vet Clinic is exceptional.
