she was talking to God or asking Him some questions doesn't mean an atheist (she is NOT).. she is catholic. she even studied in a catholic school! :) but she is influenced by her father's Lebanese heritage.. that is why many of her songs have kind of Arabic style or words like in this one.. :)

I think she just simply mixed her mother's strong roman catholic heritage, because Spanish countries are strong roman catholic believers.... as well as her father's Arabic heritage because he is of Lebanese descent. Thats why the begining 'prayer' or watever u wana call it begins in Latin and the last 'prayer' or watever is in Arabic.

Don't understand the significance of either in the song, cuz it wud have had the same impact without it, buttt, i still like it!

Oops I did not get to finish my statement. I think this song does represent a lot of the thoughts in today's world. It's okay to ask questions. Job, who was a righteous man, certainly asked God many questions (the book of Job in the Old Testament). We, as human beings are so curious. However, we will not always have the answers to everything and when we do, we may ignore the answer. It's good to understand that God is in control and without suffering, there would be no compassion or strength.
