I was at this show. A little more center stage and a little further back. I may have a biased opinion, but I absolutely love this song. I actually hitchhiked to the concert, which is way out of my norm. It was a great couple days that I'll never forget.
This song is amazing. I am blessed to have heard it for my first time live at the Gorge. Can't wait to be able to buy their new album with this song on it cause all i have is some bad version of a live song i got from somebody off limewire. Looking forward to seeing Dave and Tim in a couple weeks at the Key Arena!!!
This song has the emotion of TLS version of Bartender (the version that SHOULD have been released). I'm sure this is going to sound amazing if it makes the new album.
I wish Shotgun still sounded like this. This one's a little off in a couple parts, but it carries the emotion of the song through...unlike the current playing of it...I'm hoping the studio version will be good.
Thank you for the crowd comment, but let's not forget the people who sing with the band at the top of their lungs...and you can't hear the singer...cuz that's what I paid to hear...lame karaoke night
I hate when people in the crowd don't know a new song. They feel that this is the time to strike up a conversation with all their frinds at the top of their lungs, instead of shutting up and taking it in.
I still think that the first version of this song was the best. It had solid lyrics (which still didn't make much sense), and sounded smoother. These versions are good too, but I think the lyrics are pretty rocky... Either way its one of my favorite songs by DMB in terms of how the instruments blend together to perform a masterpiece in the making. Hopefully Dave did some tweaking of the lyrics and this makes the new album. If it does, I will be in heaven.
I hope it makes it on the next album too. The version they played at the Gorge this year '07 had alternate lyrics, so I hope that is part of the tweaking process.
after the line "a barrel for each of us", some girl in the crowd says "wow, that's depressing"

Are you sure this was taken at the Gorge this year? I was at the show the night before (Sept. 1st) and the stage set up was totally different!
