Hey Todd, just wanted to say hello. I used to be a student of yours in MN back in like 2000-2001 where you used to teach in a guitar store near St. Paul..nice to see you online...I´m still playing, recording and things like that.
That is awesome!!! I absolutely love it. That was at the MN State Fair? Are you guys located in the twin cities? If so, what is your band name and where/when do you play? I am also in the Minneapolis area and would come see you guys play in a heartbeat!
Sounds like the criticism of someone who can't play fast so hides behind a visage of "Less is more." I'm from the same school, man- but this guy's solo never once loses musicality. His note choices and phrasing always work appropriately in the song. And the references in his solo are hilarious. Brilliant.
Well said. He's not even shredding the entire time, the solo is filled with tasteful bends and melody. The fast parts are extremely melodic too. Skydog should not be so quick to judge guitar playing...
You really do seem like one who uses the "oh, you gotta feel the soul with fewer notes" BS excuse to cover up mediocre playing. Sorry, man, but that's not cool. Todd is a great player, both musically and technically. He can actually play his gear without resorting to the same, worn-out, cliched blues licks. Music is about being unique. We already have enough blues posers running around.
I see your Elmwood in the background but I can it slamming in the foreground...Great Todd... I'm with these guys bro...post more live footage That was great.....
I was a fan in the late 80's along w/ Gilbert and Racer X. Met him at the M.I. library where I made copies of his solo from the 1st Live Racer X disc.
haha your so sick todd

if anybody thinks this solo lacks emotion they are either:

C) a combination of both

What are the chances this is the band 'Touched' I used to see play in East Lansing, MI in the early 90's?

It was actually the late 80s, at The Silver Dollar. (from Mark Lead VOX)
