I've got a basset hound, but I think I am gonna have one of this breed. Are they as loving as bassets?

@swaingles I've had bassets all my life, and got a blood about 7 years ago. They are different, but not in a bad way. They are far less stubborn, but utterly and totally food driven, much more so than bassets. They are just as affectionate but they are big. My Flop is 180 pounds and at one point he was pushing 200 till we dropped his food a bit. Some bloods are wetter mouthed than others, but mine is dry. He only drools on long runs. If you love bassets you'll love bloods.

Ohhhhhhhhh. Myyyyyyyyyy. Gooooooodness!!!!!!!!!!! This is simply adorable. You can see her just trying so hard to restrain herself because you want her to be quiet but she just can't resist it sometimes. And that little growl might scare some people, but my dog (a chocolate lab) does the exact same thing and we know it's not a threatening growl. Dogs are just so wonderful. :)

So Cute! Mia my 4 year old bloodhound always does this. She is tall enough to rest her head on just about everything in our house. During dinner she will rest her head on the far side of the table. Glad to see another bloodhound lover!

Oh man this makes me laugh. I had a bloodhound/labrador mix. But the bloodhound defiantly showed constantly. I would look at her and see her mouth about to move and ask. "Are you about to get lippy?" She immediately start the baying and grunting. My Father said to me "I've had from Caron Terriers to Golden Retrievers all my life. So many breeds but this girl was the best dog I had ever had."

OMGoodness, soooo funny! Thanks for sharing, our little BH is about 5 months and is already cracking us up. But for some reason she wont bark?! Ever! And her brother being a bassett hound does plenty of howlin and taking and she never does, weird. Anyways, Your dogs adorable!

@hawkhounds yes , yes we do! And rosie is a very pretty bloodhound. My socrates(july 12th 2011) was a liver and tan, and my abe(july 9th 2011) who also passed, was a red. Bloodhounds are beautiful animals. Great companions. I actually think socrates passed away from a broken heart. Only 3 days afterr abe passed. very sad. but i guess heaven needed another hero. :)
