  • zu früh von dieser welt gegangen

er war ein fantastischer musiker --solche gibt es wenig

  • YES...Long time Fan... really a genius in his own right right ? In reterospect he had a flavour of a song style & craft that blended Reggae , Soul , Rock ... way ahead of his time in recoginizing & implimenting that FEEL in a well thought out musical landscape & lyric that was oso smooth but with an edge...This BTW is an awesome performance!!!!!!!!!

  • I am in love with a dead man! I am doomed!

  • I'm going through a tough time right now ... so I'm drowning the world out by listening to this with my headphones on. I reckon I'm going to listen to it over and over again ... I just love this song and the beautiful man singing it. Thank you, Mr Palmer, for helping me to get through the evening.

  • @SuperHurricane6 I just wanted to say that it's awesome that this song helps you out, and makes you feel better, during tumultuous times. I completely resemble that remark, and I'm pretty sure that one way or another, music (and other arts, too of course!) will save the world. *hugs to Palmer* I hope somehow he knows that his music is omnipresent and positively affecting our lives. Time to hit "replay!"

  • Magnificent lyrics and melody. A lesson learned how loving from the Heart and not what Hollywood conditioned us to believe love is: I NOW get it. :-)) What a beautiful voice Robert Palmer has; those lyrics reaching right to MY HEART. What a gift from My Angel Being. Came through once again with a Gem. Thank You!!! To the poster of this Vid of beauty thank you so it could be shared with me. <3

  • This is another great song by Robert Palmer - yes, we know by now he was a great talent and sorely missed.

  • can´t say it in english - gänsehaut sound - miss this great musican -

  • Will there ever be anyone cooler ??

  • @longpots93 well put.

  • Palmer's father was a British naval intelligence officer stationed in Malta. Palmer moved with his family to Scarborough, Yorkshire in 1959. Influenced as a child by blues, soul, and jazz music on American Forces Radio, Robert Palmer joined his first band, The Mandrakes, at the age of 15 while still at Scarborough Boys' High School.

  • @dinglidigital -So u read Wikapedia too, OK!

  • How was this not a top smash across the country is beyond me. Beautiful song

  • true music true meaning,

  • Absolutely love this song RIP Robert Palmer.

  • If there ever was a role model for solid musicians, he was it, still waiting for his successor! What concepts for videos! As real as it ever got for me!

  • I feel the same emotions I feel when I listen to Todd.

RP was such a treasure..lost him way too early. I had his albums and

had to leave them (and all my old fave lp's) behind in a desperate getaway. He was my refuge along with H&O n TR.

  • Every time I watch one of his videos, I still can't believe this talented, versatile (and by all accounts simply wonderful) man is gone. Like many, I think this song was written for Mary, and if she ever visits, I hope her heart is warmed by all these expressions of enduring affection for RP. If it's still a loss for us, I can't imagine what it must be like for her, but she must know she brought him the happiness he told us all to take a chance on.

  • Love this song, I loved all his songs, he was so awesome.

    Miss him. sighhhh

  • LOVE MEANS EVERYTHING. ROBERT YOU WERE LOVED AND MISSED. R.I.P.

  • HE WAS THE BEST. ALL HIS SONGS WERE SUNG WITH FEELING. HE WAS COOL, BOSS, OUT OF SIGHT. I MISS HIM.

  • effortlessly cool, great voice in ANY style he chose..i was envious of the man when he was with us, now i wish i could still be. Johnny and Mary is a song i listen to everyday, to me it feels there's an under-current of sadness musically?. the vocals and guitar parts are great. of course that was mr palmers diversity which very few karaoke stars.. oops! i meant Top Stars have now. missed!!!

  • Superb, under-rated song. Very poignant. Great man.

  • What a great song!! Robert you were the best....xxxxxxxx

  • He could sing to me anytime...............Sarah

  • @sarahsrose2002 Hands off he's MINE!! :P

  • God, I love this song!!

  • This man was so talented. A true artist through and through.

  • That´s pretty much a perfect popsong.

  • Wow. Robert Palmer was immensely talented. He was taken too soon ... I still cant believe hes no longer with us, he had so much more to give. No doubt about it - he was one of a kind. Not only did he have an amazing voice but he was strikingly handsome, always incredibly well-dressed and ... quite simply a thoroughly decent guy. He was never defined by any one particular style of music. This song & the video are AWESOME, so iconic! God Bless you Robert, your music will live on forever!

  • Awesome song ,Robert was ace!

  • rip robert

  • супер

  • This song is, as it were, inspired by God. I love it sooo much!! "You oughta know, by now"....and these words are true.

  • Robert, you are a great player ..it´s a fantastic song. In the sky you can it singing with your pefect clothes (*smile*) and finger tapping anytime..I miss you, baby..

  • I was a DJ when this was popular. I played it a lot!!! j loved it then, love it still.

  • It's artistic. He had a style that was his alone. When you hear Robert you know it's Robert.

  • Comes out of the water at beginning of video, goes back into water at end of video...

  • Definitely underrated song. R.I.P Robert.

  • Though not as commercially successful as some of Palmer's other tunes - This is my fave of his & great to listen to when driving!

  • rest in peace robert

  • this is one of my favourite songs ever!

  • this is such an underrated song Palmer was great

  • Una lastima,el otro dia me entere que habia fallecido-una lastima, era otro genio junto a tantos otros de su epoca-que han hecho muy buena musica.

  • Happy Birthday x

  • At first I wanted to criticize the focus.

Then I just was overwhelmed. What a fine show.

  • in regards to the estate...i don't know much about that, only that creative souls, like his, need someone to manage...cause well...they have other things to think about...

miss him as all RP fans do...

  • This song really touches my heart.. and I agree.. it is a shame we will never hear what could have been.. what an awesome talent.. Thank you, Robert, for sharing you voice and your soul with us through your beautiful songs..

  • Rest in peace, dear Robert

  • Ahora lo sabes nena. Excelente tema de Palmer

  • rip robert

  • Where was this video shot?

  • First time I've heard this song... fits in nicely with the rest of his stuff. A little mellower, which kind of makes sense, as he was getting older. Shame we'll never know what else he would have been able to bring us.

  • This song was on the radio when i was born, and i haven't heard this song since but i somehow know ALL THE WORDS! i'm proud to have been named after a great musician like him

  • live robert

  • Robert you are the greatest!

    We will miss you.

  • what a tune .. random I know but yeh woowoo :P x

  • ,,,thx robert

  • Just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE this song...

  • i searched for this song a long long time and now i found´it and say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A Class Act all the way! Immortality through music.

  • Very clever key changing; zingy Strat tones; exploding bomb drumming; and the cool dude vocals of Robert Palmer....compare to today's scruff bags with joined up eyebrows staring down at their grotty trainers...I MUST be getting old!! The young 'musical' troglodytes...all bass and drums, and any guitar mutilated by distortion effects...YUCK!! Roll on total deafness if that's all we're going to get!! 2 rusty six inch nails is the cure to 'gangsta rap'!!

  • RIP MR. Palmer. The Gentleman of gentlemans.

  • @Mesuscriboatodos when did he die!?

  • @XxSternchenxX8

Im September 2003 in einem Pariser Hotel an einem Herzinfarkt.

  • @Mesuscriboatodos Made some great music.. would have been brilliant to see what he would he was able to create today.

  • There's only one and I miss him terribly!

  • @DrJulienArbor so do i so do i :S

  • Never forget true genius x

  • great

  • love you robert...... denis from montreal

  • Wonderful!

  • Clear to see by the numerous smiles during the clip that Robert had a good sense of humor. Never had the chance to meet him, but saw him once on 57th in NYC going into a restaurant with his entourage. Seemed like a gentleman. In today's world of rapper thugs that is a rare thing.

  • Why is this song not on iTunes USA? The album isn't either. Any ideas? I know there are songs that appear on iTunes UK site but not on the USA site, which can be quite frustrating. RB had something a lot of artists don't, and that is class.

  • i think robert palmer was most classy. the west indies islander/british londoner combo was phenom

  • Honey the album in my opinion is not worth getting out of all his albums. However, i have this on mp3 and wud be willing to send

  • Thanks, I sent you a message directly, but can't remember if I included my email address. I will send you another message with it just in case.
