About the myth. Icarus was the son of Daedalus the mechanic imprisoned in the royal court of the king of the Cretans. He was trying hard to find away to escape , so he manifactured a pair of wings made of wax. Icarus stole his father's invention and flew away but having no Knowledge about this, he flew so high that the sun melted his wax wings dropping him to his death on the aegean sea near the island called Icaria ever since. Are those Greeks magnificent, or what ?

Icarus as a boy wanted to see the sun closer and ignored the warning, so the wax melted. But good to see people writing smart comments :)
