I am sorry, but this is completely incorrect. Checking of lynx kittens is being done by several research groups, and what you are suggesting has NEVER happened. You can easily check this in appropriate scientific papers. Anyway, as this lynx had a GPS collar, we were able to track her and her kittens, and they were alive and well for several months after that (until the collar stopped working).
Do the fur traders trap/shoot them around the border? are they the same subspecies found in Siberia?
