Midas Cichlids and Red Devils are two different species that share similar features with each other.

I'm not really sure how to tell them apart, but I think the Red Devil is more aggressive to begin with. As the Midas Cichlid gets bigger it usually gets more aggressive. I have a Midas Cichlid and he will kill anything I put in his tank, but he is used to me.

when young. red devils have a longer snout than a midas. that's how I was able to tell my midas from my devil when I got them.

u got midas if his mouth is wide and get a 55 because no matter how big or small ur tank is he is going to grow to 12" min i no my red devil on the 2nd year i had him he was in a 35 he was 12"
