  • It is a beautiful song. Asha Bhonsle's singing brings tears into my eyes. I am not a native Marathi speaker and did not understand the entire song. It does not matter though, because the sentiment is clear.

  • Your providing the original lyrics and the English translation is truly commendable!! Please keep it up!!

  • SJisBack has done an awesome job with the translation - here and with Malvun Tak Deep. Aprateem. I consider myself something of a writer - and I feel I'd not have done as good a job as this - that's the highest compliment I can give!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • She Sang it in Bengali Too Lyrics By Salil Chowdhury

The Song is " Jeebono Gaan gaahe Ke Je "

It is available in my channel Bhalokaka

  • Thanks. I am not a maharashtrian but I love this song because of its composition. Moreover, through this video I could understand its lyrics. Really music has no language.

  • खरच किती शुद्ध मानाने गायले आहे हे गाणे खरच दूर राहून घरी असल्यासारखे वाटते.

  • Just saying that the translation was done excellently!

  • Thank you so much for your "amateurish attempts" at translating. Very beautiful! Well done!

  • The lyrics are by Shantabai Shelake who was a poetess par excellence. The feelings of a loving and waiting soul always reflect in her poems. Example. .. Parikathetil Rajkumara swapni majhya yesheel kaa....(Fairy tale prince, will you appear in my dreams ..)

  • Thanks for an extraordinary song.Sudhir I have this song of asha bhosle in hindi version and if u want I can give u the audio of that.Secondly Hridanynath Mangeshakar in recent tv show said that this song is in raag "Shri Gauri" and not in Puriya Dhanashri.

    Harish

  • @amrutvani2 I would love that Harish. I have never heard Hindi version of the song. You are right about shree Gauri, I was confused about the name of the raag with "Salagvairali"

  • Sudhir I am out of Mumbai for a few days so I will send u the hindi version of this song say after 15-20 days.

    Harish

  • awesome!

  • It is a rich poetry. The lyrics in Devnagari script and translation in English has made it more meaningful for all to understand the भावार्थ. Thanks for making it available.

  • @crazyoldsongs

I am glad that you are showing great interest towards Marathi songs. The language is very rich in literary values. Regards.

  • @rumahale

thanks , the credit goes to you for helping me find this beautiful channel .

  • the call of the tired traveller in the twilight years of his journey of life , to the almighty to embrace him and keep in his eternal care makes for a beautiful rendition by asha ji .this phase of life comes to every human being when he wants to have complete rest after the endless trials and tribulations he has suffered and to lose himself completely and become one with the divine .

  • @crazyoldsongs . All excellently described. Your comment is especially true of the later stanzas. The earlier ones once again remind me of the Robert Frost poem we discussed some days ago on SJ's upload of another verse by the same poet.

My old browser doesn't allow me to read any notes posted by the uploaders. Hence I missed the dedication to us. Thanks for telling me , and my profound if belated thanks to SJ for this generous and warm-hearted gesture. A most pleasant surprise.

  • @chamogaa. And , of course, once again, outstanding translation by SJ.

  • @chamogaa

thanks v much da for your gracious response . the warm gesture by sj sir was a very pleasant surprise for me too . thanks once again to both of you .

  • very very nice .

translation is also very good .
