It is a beautiful song. Asha Bhonsle's singing brings tears into my eyes. I am not a native Marathi speaker and did not understand the entire song. It does not matter though, because the sentiment is clear.
SJisBack has done an awesome job with the translation - here and with Malvun Tak Deep. Aprateem. I consider myself something of a writer - and I feel I'd not have done as good a job as this - that's the highest compliment I can give!

The lyrics are by Shantabai Shelake who was a poetess par excellence. The feelings of a loving and waiting soul always reflect in her poems. Example. .. Parikathetil Rajkumara swapni majhya yesheel kaa....(Fairy tale prince, will you appear in my dreams ..)
