That was beautiful and profound. Energy and intention do make a difference- look at babies that get the failure to thrive syndrome- they have food and water, but no love, so they waste away and fall behind developmentally. Even plants respond to love-they grow bigger, faster and stronger. These things cannot necessarily be tested in a lab, but that does not mean it is not real. Real life is not lived in a lab, under controlled conditions. Yet amazing things happen- intention and love do matter.
there is absolutely no control in this 'experiment.' even if one supposes that the video accurately represents some sort of homemade experiment, without repeatable results in large scale, its meaningless. did like the song tho.
What a great post. Thanks for sharing this with all. Glenn and Eli you are earth angels. Let your light shine on forever. love, light, and laughter to you.
I don't get how this proves anything. Both batches of rice produced mold and rot. You have to repeat this numerous times and somehow measure the amount of mold, etc to determine the rate at which it develops then see if there is some correlation between the emotions and the rate of mold development. Also you need a control which had no emotional stimulation. Lastly, a way of isolating the samples so the people sending the emotions don't know which sample was loved and hated.
Hindus believe that thoughts and intention penetrate in food who cooks food. So if food is cooked with happy , postive thoughts that food doesnt have any ill effects on ones body , while food cooked with hate , jealously , negative thoughts , this have wrong effect on ones body
Cute, my daughter and I did a similar thing with plants... we grew three sets of plants, one that was labeled with love, and positive words, one that was labled with hate and negative words (and images) and the other we left alone. The results were that the love, was the biggest, the hate was the smallest and the untouched one was somewhere in between.

on last comment- the fact that you do not believe in intent does not make it NOT work (correction) it works no matter what, and your negative energies dont do you or anyone else anygood.
the fact that you do not believe in manifestation makes it not work, just because you do not see the beauty of intent does not make us losers, maybe you should try loving instead of hating, it makes you feel alot better and maybe you wouldnt be so cynical if you felt the results.
If a tree fell out in woods and no one was there to see it and look at and think lovingly or with hatred, what happens to the tree? Humans love there favorite people but still out of blue some of them die or get mangled, robbed, shot, married, healthy, sick, rich, poor without anyone noticing at first. Explain please? The science is there.

LOL Thanks for the great comment. And to everyone else: please don't give dgm4ever any more thumbs down. We want other people to be able to read it and laugh!
I think if you try words related to fear and the word fear itself, you might get more contrasted results. It might also matter how far apart these are from each other.
Your energy field might affect them if they are close to each other when you are intenting.
I think it's great that you spend time with your son, but the lesson could be that Hate causes more life than Love. The Hate rice had a lot more life associated with it than the Love rice. So I hope he didn't learn that Love is incompatible with life.If he's going to be a baker or a brewmaster he better learn to hate his bread dough or his beer wort if he wants them to ferment, because obviously if he loves them they won't grow very well.
What does love or hate have to do with the selection of the species that proliferates? The experiment simply indicates that more life grows when hatefulness is applied. Are you trying to say that love or hate favors some microbes over others? If so, then emotion is connected to genetic selection?
True, but mold is usually THOUGHT to be associated with something bad, even if, objectively, considering every aspect of it, mold is just a form of life.
When you think of hate and love, and mold, you are more likely to associate mold with hate. Since this is an experiment based on the power of THOUGHT, it is more likely that the results reflect what the person thought was associated with the two words. Love and Hate are just words, so they are worth nothing without our associations.
Ok, so if it wasn't rice but a co-worker. Let's say you dislike a co-worker and everyday you focus your hate on them - hoping to cause cell growth in them, e.g. cancer. Would that work? Why not? If enough people hate a world leader, why doesn't that person simply get cancer from all the bad intentions focused on them?
You make a very valid point, but maybe those folks who are being aimed at with negative thoughts manage to find enough positivity from other sources, so that it effectively counteracts the negativity, meaning they don't develop cellular dysfunction.
Actually the rice is decaying and changing form into something inedible. Normally you can eat rice as long as it is not moldy with hair growing out of it.
But if you intent for it to survive its edibility the longest, we'll I think that they reached their goal. Or at least they get to practice a little more.
Remember, we can affect everything depending how we observe it. If you think negative of it well then your result will be negative...
If you would have actually sealed the rice instead of opening it every day, and used a control sample, the outcome would have been a lot more consistent to the other experiments here on youtube.
: ) We love you anyway. Try to learn something about energy and you will see there is a quantum relationship within. Excellent experiment! Keep going ! ^^ Love

By the way, rice is most certainly NOT "made of the same stuff as everything else". That is false on so many levels that I don't even know where to begin. It is false at the atomic level, at the simple molecular level, at the macro molecular level, at the genetic level, at the cellular level, and on, and on.
If you want to teach your son about love and hate, which is admirable, try human relations, where it actually applies. Don't cook up some nonsense and pass it off as a science "experiment".
That is a completely meaningless statement. Yes, all matter is made up of subatomic particles. Does this mean all matter behaves the same way? Anyone who has ever taken a basic chemistry course knows the answer to that.
And by your line of reasoning, you should be able to take some beans, buckshot pellets, wads of paper, wood chips and salt crystals, run the same "experiment" and get the same results. Do you seriously think you will? If you do, give it a try.
hey kossmikham- im not gonna talk down to you like you seem to like to do with other people. All im gonna say is Watch this documentary. You can find it right here on youtube- it comes in different parts. Its called "WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW"- Just copy and paste that into the search box and begin to gain conciousness into the real world around you. The String Theory- Look it up.
Seen it already. Long time ago. Probably before you had ever heard of it. String theory is legitimate science. "What the Bleep" is pseudo science and ill-informed leaps without basis in real science. Every once in a while metaphysics (junk science) gets a false sense of validation from real physics, as if it had some legitimacy. It appeals to the masses who have neither the academic background nor the capacity to understand real physics. This rice thing is a lot like that, only less interesting.
Mold grew on both batches. What's your point? It's interesting that you only show closeups of the "hate" rice.
Chemical and biological processes outside your body take place independently of any emotion you experience inside your head. Your own experiment seems to verify that fact.
Interesting experiment but one thing stands out... why is the molding and decomposition of matter aligned with the hate mode? The breakdown and reassembly of parts to create a new whole is beautiful to me. Mushrooms for instance are some of the most beautiful and interesting things on the planet.
Perhaps its the perception of love and hate by the experimenter that produces the result. Personal values placed onto a neutral event. "Bad mold" "Good white rice." Lesson here?
this stuff is acualy true u know...go study wut dr.emoto did.. its absolutly crasy! Makes you wonder, if we can do that to rice..imagine wut we can do to are self...
i've read several of dr. emoto's books and find them so wonderful and useful! and i think it is so cool that you are raising your child to have this awareness. well done!:)
I think that simply the fact that there was a difference between the two is amazing in itself...regardless of what grew or didn't grow.
Pretty profound that our thoughts can potentially manifest a physical effect on an external source...which I don't think is a contradiction.
Relating mold to hate. Now that could certainly be seen as a contradiction - but I don't necessarily think it's the main point. The mold could have been fairy dust and lollipops and I would be equally as impressed.
but the one with the hate label and hate directed intention was the one that was more successful in creating an environment for life. Isn't that a contradiction?
The one with the "Hate" label is the one that shows more degradation... more "entrophy", which is a lower energy level from a Physics standpoint...to create, to maintain requires energy (Cosmos), to degrade, to break apart is the natural tendency in this universe because of its lower potential energy. Thus, the natural reaction is to go into "Caos". Nevertheless, there is Life even there...
You are disregarding the type of life that is thriving. Try this, though; Imagine the rice as your body. Would you argue then that these conditions would be more succesful for YOUR life? Perhaps the fungus you're breeding inside enjoys the deal, but your immune system won't. I see a big paralell here with a lot of the uncureable diseases. It doesn't mean "science" is thrown out the window and now we are in new age land of imagination, it means perhaps the forest was lost for the trees.
So simple, yet such an incredible example of just how powerful our emotions are. We're all one and we're all energy - spread love and just look at what we can do!
I think u need duplicate of each set. to make it more conclusive, u should sterile all the containers haha

Maybe this is why Jesus taught us to bless our food in his name?
and why we bless water to make it Holy water?
and this is why we see children grow up happy if they are loved and cherished and the oppisite is true with those who don't.
A good lesson in why we should speak encouraging words to kids and hug them a lot and always tell them they are loved..
Today it looks like we are failing the children any wonder they are so angry...

Your energy field might affect them if they are close to each other when you are intenting.

I think it's great that you spend time with your son, but the lesson could be that Hate causes more life than Love. The Hate rice had a lot more life associated with it than the Love rice. So I hope he didn't learn that Love is incompatible with life.If he's going to be a baker or a brewmaster he better learn to hate his bread dough or his beer wort if he wants them to ferment, because obviously if he loves them they won't grow very well.
rnabox 2 years ago
Not so. The fermentation process in brewing can be spoiled of the "wrong" kind of bacteria or yeast proliferate in the wort.
neenerhead 2 years ago
What does love or hate have to do with the selection of the species that proliferates? The experiment simply indicates that more life grows when hatefulness is applied. Are you trying to say that love or hate favors some microbes over others? If so, then emotion is connected to genetic selection?
rnabox 2 years ago

BibFortuna4President 2 years ago
i'm sure it will affect them negatively whether or not that leader gets cancer, thats what i believe anyway.
nubianqueen707 2 years ago
instead of judging the experiment - perhaps some of us could and try it out ourselves...it's easy to do and you can see the results for yourself...
cptseagull 2 years ago 2
Actually the rice is decaying and changing form into something inedible. Normally you can eat rice as long as it is not moldy with hair growing out of it.
But if you intent for it to survive its edibility the longest, we'll I think that they reached their goal. Or at least they get to practice a little more.
Remember, we can affect everything depending how we observe it. If you think negative of it well then your result will be negative...

So what happens to you if you spend half of your time hating and half loving. Is this considered balanced? Is balanced good or bad?
ybnvs2 2 years ago
If you would have actually sealed the rice instead of opening it every day, and used a control sample, the outcome would have been a lot more consistent to the other experiments here on youtube.

Thank you so much! Beyond inspireing..
Best of luck to you both!

If you do, give it a try.
kossmikham 2 years ago
hey kossmikham- im not gonna talk down to you like you seem to like to do with other people. All im gonna say is Watch this documentary. You can find it right here on youtube- it comes in different parts. Its called "WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW"- Just copy and paste that into the search box and begin to gain conciousness into the real world around you. The String Theory- Look it up.
illmagnified 2 years ago
Seen it already. Long time ago. Probably before you had ever heard of it. String theory is legitimate science. "What the Bleep" is pseudo science and ill-informed leaps without basis in real science. Every once in a while metaphysics (junk science) gets a false sense of validation from real physics, as if it had some legitimacy. It appeals to the masses who have neither the academic background nor the capacity to understand real physics. This rice thing is a lot like that, only less interesting.
kossmikham 2 years ago
Mold grew on both batches. What's your point? It's interesting that you only show closeups of the "hate" rice.
Chemical and biological processes outside your body take place independently of any emotion you experience inside your head. Your own experiment seems to verify that fact.
kossmikham 3 years ago
Interesting experiment but one thing stands out... why is the molding and decomposition of matter aligned with the hate mode? The breakdown and reassembly of parts to create a new whole is beautiful to me. Mushrooms for instance are some of the most beautiful and interesting things on the planet.
Perhaps its the perception of love and hate by the experimenter that produces the result. Personal values placed onto a neutral event. "Bad mold" "Good white rice." Lesson here?

great! Hate produced newborn life, while love produced sterility.

Makes you realize how much power we all have to influence the world around us, don't it?
You can take a moment to focus on the things that you love or like, and when you feel good, you can direct your attention towards your target.
Same thing with hate, disgust, etc. Think about the things that make you sick and when reach that peak, direct your attention to the target.
I know alot of people out there will think twice before they give someone else a nasty look...

1:23 what do you do to "feel" emotions (hate/love) towards the rice?

I think that simply the fact that there was a difference between the two is amazing in itself...regardless of what grew or didn't grow.
Pretty profound that our thoughts can potentially manifest a physical effect on an external source...which I don't think is a contradiction.
Relating mold to hate. Now that could certainly be seen as a contradiction - but I don't necessarily think it's the main point. The mold could have been fairy dust and lollipops and I would be equally as impressed.
whitetomvu 3 years ago
I would've been more impressed if they were lollipos, then through hate I could create something sweet and fun from rice.
chronichell70 3 years ago
but the one with the hate label and hate directed intention was the one that was more successful in creating an environment for life. Isn't that a contradiction?
chronichell70 3 years ago
The one with the "Hate" label is the one that shows more degradation... more "entrophy", which is a lower energy level from a Physics standpoint...to create, to maintain requires energy (Cosmos), to degrade, to break apart is the natural tendency in this universe because of its lower potential energy. Thus, the natural reaction is to go into "Caos". Nevertheless, there is Life even there...

Don't be hating! I am sure they threw alot of anger in that pile of rice! LOL
jc70417 3 years ago
You are disregarding the type of life that is thriving. Try this, though; Imagine the rice as your body. Would you argue then that these conditions would be more succesful for YOUR life? Perhaps the fungus you're breeding inside enjoys the deal, but your immune system won't. I see a big paralell here with a lot of the uncureable diseases. It doesn't mean "science" is thrown out the window and now we are in new age land of imagination, it means perhaps the forest was lost for the trees.

So simple, yet such an incredible example of just how powerful our emotions are. We're all one and we're all energy - spread love and just look at what we can do!
newageweb 3 years ago
This is pretty awesome, it shows the effect emotions and thought can have surrounding the energy around us.
