Type R should be NA engine. Whether supercharged or turbocharged taints the reputation of Type R. It should be called Type S.

@katespadeFTL they can't. I'm sure they would if they could but new emissions laws prevent a high hp NA engine being produced. Turbo engines produce much less emissions (apparently) Even the new civic type r will be turbo charged :(

@darphinparis yeah, true, but you forget that cars nowadays have integrated ecu modifications. When you press a button it changes the amount of air and fuel coming into the engine. As well as changing the throttle response. By being given the option for eco and normal...you dont really have to think about driving efficiently..it just changes the ecu perimeters. Of course there are things good drivers can do to get better mileage, but now the engine can limit itself.

Love the style of the CRZ but disappointed in the constant lack of performance Honda is lacking. Till I see a change in Honda for the better HP and Sportiness I will be looking elsewhere. This CRZ should have been street nasty not puttering like a Prius. So sad!

When I first saw this car on the local Honda dealer lot, I drove by, saw it, and thought "shit did I just see that?" Then I thought if they tossed a k20/k24 in it, I don't care what I have to sell, or what I need to do, I'm getting it. Only to finally stop by the dealer and find out it was a hybrid! I literally felt like Honda took a shit on my face!
