  • anyone want to trade one of these for my rhodes 73?

  • Amazing demo!

    Great job!

  • How does this thing compare to the DSI MoPho?

  • @ultimatenerd22 very different sound.

  • I can't believe I sold this thing.

  • Best demo of this superb machine!

Btw. I bought the moog voyager before I bought this, I use this mostly for fx and arps :D I was thinking about getting the SH-101 but Im not so sure anymore :P

  • I see no cables no more jack in the machines.

    Is it a playback ?

  • @dubsiren66 HAHAAHAH Please tell me you're kidding :P

  • how does htis work then? how do you get the main melody synthy sound that is playing? cos you arent hitting the keys and i dont see a step sequencer- i am a noob to analogue synths...

  • GREAT DEMO!!!

  • bravo

  • @UnchainTheNight1. Pick up a mopho keyboard. Best $799 you'll ever spend

  • Is this synth monophonic?

  • @jasonmathieu1 : yep. two oscillators fatten up the sound though.

  • @freezazoid yeah its an awesome sound

  • wondering what synth to make a good first monosynth... i considered the sh-101 but i was turned away by the lack of two oscillators for a nice detune control

  • both synths are great but the Pro-One is more flexible with 2 VCO´s and the modulation matrix

  • @retrosound72 Is this better than a Waldorf Pulse for those elastic type basses and metallic overtones? Cheers

  • @UnchainTheNight1 check out the dsi mopho

  • @UnchainTheNight1 Current: DSI Mopho Keyboard or Moog Little Phatty Stage II. Vintage: Sequential Circuits Pro-One

  • Wow. Seeing that DSI put "Pro-One 2" on the circuits for the Mopho, can it sound like this incidentally?

  • the sound is different

not so organic and powerful as the Pro-One

  • A beautiful sounding Sound Engine housed in a crappy case. Damn...this thing has the worst keyboard action i have ever played. Case is made of wobbly plastic. But well...it's very flexible (great Mod-Matrix, Sequencer...) and sounds phantastic. :)

  • it has no action, dude...it's a synth, not a piano!

sounds f*cking amazing indeed, I use it all the time :)

  • Worst construction in the entire history of synthesizer production! Some people have actually gutted the whole thing and made table tops with it.

  • Hahahahaha ;) Indeed. I've seen this.

  • @silverdroid : what do you mean by that? I'm asking because I'm thinking of picking up one of these. The construction should be the same or similar to the prophet5 which is considered one of the best analog synths ever. This is basically the monophonic version of the P5

  • @freezazoid

By construction, I meant physical construction of the synth, not it's sound or architecture. The front panel is a very flimsy plastic, knobs are weaksauce, pots are blah. The mainboard itself is suspended by a few screws whose mounting sheeths pop out easily. The keys for most of the models are horrible, they built some like Minimoogs (uses an actual hammer), the balance use this cheap computer pad that makes contact with plastic.

  • @cathrynn : oh crap. Well I just bought one. Hasn't arrived yet. Hope that the key action and the construction doesn't bug me too much. Do you know if the p-5 has the same crappy construction and key action?

  • juicy filter, i like it.

  • could you successfully rercreate the lead riff for YAZOO - DONT GO... heard on the grapevine it was made on this synth

  • the yazoo album upstairs at erics was mostly made on this synth

  • Nice! Its got that classic 'Vince Clarke' sound - Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure :)

  • just got mine in the mail today!!

  • that depends what type of compositions you are making!!!

  • Resonance is pointless in compositions? Surely you must be some kind of professor of sound design or something! Maybe you should invest in a Casio CZ-101 if basic filter components turn you off.

  • that resonance is sick.. dopplereffekt like whoa

  • this synth is the beast, awesome stuff and the drums hold the lot together nice.

  • is this the synth pete namlook used to create the Sequential project on Fax +49-69/45064?

sounds great, thanks for the demo

  • My dream synthesizer..

    I'd kill, I'd kill !

  • Sounds like the 'AFX' "Analord" series

  • and the tuss....

  • ...well, Brian Tregaskin, actually

  • One of the gratest bass-synths!

Still got my pro-one, but unfortunately the

electronics in the "controls" and "buttons" are getting old, and there is scrap sound when I turn the controls. Does somebody know how to renovate it? Contact spray?

    Thanks in advance

    //JOE from Sweden

  • No contact spray!!! It destroys the contacts in the time. Clean the contacs with Isopropanol (alcohol) and google for Deoxid from Caig. The best way.

  • Are you running the 606 into the CV/GATE in? If so, I take it that it automatically syncs with the internal sequencer?

  • Tr-606 LT trigger out --> Pro One Clock In

  • Thanks for the info! The Pro One is unbelievable. I'm gonna get one soon.

  • I just love pro-one~!

    super bass!

  • Some of those sounds totally sounded like some of Minilogue's material.

  • did you know the Dave Smith Mopho says "Pro-one II" on the inside?

  • :) No!

The Morpho is cool but it is no competitor for the Pro-One and the Prophet08 not for the Prophet-5 or the Prophet-600

  • what sequencer are you using?

  • Pro-One internal sequencer

  • I like the resonance filter on this one, very harsh, cool synth!

  • Very nice demo, I always wanted a Pro One but they are sooo damn expensive these days.

  • thanks :)

  • they're not connected by midi, i assume

  • Only by Trigger

  • I guess Depece Mode used this machine in the early `81

  • Yep. Alan Wilder and Martin Gore did before they added Emulators in their synth rig.

  • oh man i want that. that thing is so tweakable.

  • can i borrow your synth i live in mexico i swear you it will get returned :)

  • ;-)

  • can i borrow your synth for a bit i live in LA and i swear youll never get it back haha. never.

  • I've had two Pro One's. I had mine synced up to a drumulator

  • what a great machine. I remember those. fat as you like. Thanks for the demo, nicely done retrosound72

  • thank you for your comment

  • Great demo! What a sound.

Need to get one of these...

  • thank you

  • brilliant video demo of the pro one....its such an underrated bit of kit, but prices are starting to creep up to nearly £1000 for a minter, which really does reflect its value as its so much more than a minimoog in terms of sonic depth.

  • thanks for watching and your comment :)

  • We enjoy your videos btw...keep up the great work with the synth demos..good stuff!

  • thanks a lot :)

  • I love my Pro One and P-5 and will never part with them! For those that aren't familier the ProOne has a very fat and distinctive sound and can actually at times be somewhat fatter than a moog! I have compared it side by side and although the mighty moog is legendary-the ProOne can do it one better with it's arp/sequencer and fat sound! You can't beat it even when compared to the minimoog..for the money nothing else compares to the ProOne for sound and bang for the buck value!

  • absolute agreement!

The Pro-One is very underrated compared to the Moog.

    thanks for your comment

  • Another tip for those wanting one-make sure you get the J-wire version since the keyboard is not it's best feature and can be somewhat flimsy..The J-wire version is much better since you can clean or replace the wires..after cleaning contacts the J-wire version will work fine..another way around this is to simply get a midi/CV converter such as a kenton pro solo like I have and then you can use a midi controller and tweak to your heart's content without having to worry about keyboard issues.

  • Moog on roids...sequential really hit the nail on the head with anaolg synths

  • some of it reminded me of a tb 303

  • "GET DOWN GET DOWN WOO"!

  • This just made my shroom experience very nice!!

  • I have to buy some classic hardware. Im sick of vst :| only i got is Yamaha dx21 fm synth

  • Thanx, very good demo of P1´s sounds. When watching "pro-one" I think of MEK as "post-one" :-)

  • thanks :)

  • I love the sound of that thing

  • I too! :-)

  • How much that costs?

  • In perfect state count on $1000 or so.

  • yes

  • I <3 Synthesizers

  • love classic electronic instruments...nice vid

  • I too. thanks

  • Did you catch Yazoo on tour. Unfortunately it looked liked Vince did a Kraftwerk like play back concert. Alison sounded good, though.

  • I see Yazoo in Berlin. The sound was good but I wanted to see also the sound machines.

  • HI thats really great. i give you 15 out 10 stars :) nice work my friend

  • ;-)

    thanks my friend :)

  • This fascinates me!! forget 5 stars, 10!! great work!

  • cool!

    thanks :)

  • very nice i hear sounds of belgium new beat of the 90s
