  • EXCELLENT GUITAR AND BOOMIN BASS .....QUALITY !!

  • I really enjoy the visual, (tape, or whatever it is) it fits very nicely with the music. Shit, its like an awesome accidental music video.

  • to me this is dance music for heavy metal fans!

  • Carl Cox has this in his F.A.C.T. 2 album, but it's not DJ friendly, at least the album I had. He started the session with it. Fan-Fuking-Tastic! That was the best version I heard.

  • THE BEST MIX !

  • Can someone upload the song from the City of Industry soundtrack?

  • @crapObear2323

What do you mean? This *is* the version from the COI soundtrack.

  • I did mean air guitar and I also forgot to mention if you have failed to pull too :D

  • This is one dirty guitar sampling classic....a 1.30am dance classic down at a club where you can get the sir guitar out and make a bigger prat of yourself than you have for the whole of the night :D

  • This version is SO damn hard to find! And its the best version IMO. I had this on a dance album about 15 years ago and lost it :-( Seeing Replacement Killers, and hearing it on the trailer for Layer Cake made me come looking for it again! I cant believe they left this off the Replacement Killers soundtrack.

  • @foulplay99

Nah, the City of Industry soundtrack costs 99p on Amazon UK ( amazon . co . uk / gp/offer-listing/B000001EAG/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1309686948&sr=8-1&condition=used) - you should get yourself a copy. :)

  • G O O D !!!

  • from 3:00 :)

  • Death in Vegas é tudo de bom. Há oito meses não escuto nada melhor.

  • wowo dangerous driving sound!!!

  • @ phoenixSuns I'm not sure how it's possible to say it gets boring after 1.45

  • City Of Industry Movie!

  • honestly the best part is the first 1:45 seconds then it just gets boring

  • @92PhoenixSuns,

Yeah, that's what everybody else here have been saying too ;)

  • Couldn't agree more PhoenixSuns, it's a pity they felt the need to embelish. Very often the very best pieces of music are destroyed by the ego misreading the musical discovery.

  • @92PhoenixSuns

Boring this remix simply just melts your eyes out with the dirty guitar samples :O

  • first heard this in the film replacement killers and always did wonder wot the track was great track

  • ....somk'n' flow ..oowweeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

  • VERY GOOD !!!

  • ear porn!!

  • Ever since I saw The Replacement Killers, this song has been one of my absolute favourites. It's so classy, moody, menacing and faintly Glammy, all at once!

  • H O T MIX.

  • COME AND DIE!

  • REPLACMENT KILLERS ENOUGH SAID

  • @2207757 check yer dates

  • Fix the/a vid dude. Get over a million hits :) Vid sucks, song KILLER .

  • yes!live lots before you diei love this dirty guitar and feel...album best played loud it has to be said so you can hear the underneath tones and get the full force of the bass

  • well it sends me craaaaaaazy love it:)

  • HOLY FUCK!! this is the one from replacement killers that was ommited on the soundtrack!!

  • the best way to download this mp3 from youtube is to google mp3iffy.

  • @myoglobinclacfj thanks for the tip

  • This song is so perfect in that scene from The Replacement Killers.

  • This was always the far superior version which for some reason was omitted from the album. The bassline is ace!

  • This is me fcg off from the onslaught , come with me if you dare, Husky!.

  • Good !

  • the speech in this song is a sample of the original song 'Moanin' Low' but does anyone know which version?

  • @base58com

Haha, fantastic! Thanks to that piece of the puzzle, I think I've got it figured out now - and also who "Rocco is!"

In the 1948 Bogart/Bacall movie "Key Largo", one of the main characters is gangster boss Johnny Rocco, played by Edward G. Robinson, who forces his alcoholic dame Gaye (played by Claire Trevor), to sing Moanin' Low acapella. Have a look here: tinyurl . com / ykfastg and watch the actual scene(!) and listen to Claire Trevor sing! :) Thanks, Base58!

  • @KjellBrel ah cool I actually found that extract from Key Largo on Spotify on a classic film noir compilation but it's edited so it didn't quite sound right. That full clip sounds like the exact source tho. Thanks!

  • @KjellBrel spot on!

  • absolutely superb music love this band

  • Sampling by itself doesn't imple "influence"...I assume you're a Floyd fan, so you use them to judge new music. I'm a Joy Division fan, and to me, Death in Vegas sounds like them. Did JD influence Death in Vegas? I have no idea. The end guitar on "Empty Spaces" is almost identical to JD's "Exercise One" - which was cut two years before The Wall came out. DId JD influence Floyd here? I doubt it - they were both just working with diminished chords.

  • THE SONG IS THE SHIT!

  • this is a really great video, ive never actually seen sunset strip so that made it interesting for me too. beautifully filmed, i like the pace. and the music is awesome of course

  • My toes and fingers curl round with the pleasure of this music..it is just so awesome.

  • awesome? maybe. but you have to admit that from 3:30 onward it does sound all stolen from pink floyd.

  • Pink Floyd? On this track? Sorry, not hearing it; only think close from progressive rock would be NEU!....

  • the bass part sounds a lot like the bass sound AND riff on pink floy'd "one of these days" song (instrumental piece is more like it since the only vocal part in it is "one of these days i'm gonna cut you to little pieces"). and both the rhythm guitar and lead guitars sounds like the one from pink floyd's "we don't need no education" song. go to timeline 3:30

  • Comment removed

  • @harryupscrabble Well, having listened to "One of these days" I still can't hear any resemblence aside from both having a delay and being in a minor key. Though, it is a nice song. As to the guitar after 3:30 - you're talking about a muted rythm guitar with a wah pedal and a feed back - so, yeah, it probably sounds like a couple of Pink Floyd songs, and Stone Roses, Parliament Funkadaelic , and about a million others...

  • @Speakingmute yeah but guess what? i have googled death in vegas and it seems they have sampled a few of pink floyd's music. this implies that whoever is the mastermind of death in vegas is he might have been heavily influenced by pink floyd. i trust my ear. i hear pink floyd in this song. not note for note but it's there. when i said that there was disco in led zeppelin's "dazed and confused" live version song people told me "eff you harry, no way is led zep disco. but google says zep has funk.

  • @harryupscrabble Stone Roses all the way

  • .any chance of you making this HQ??

    .please?:-)

  • ...if this track dosn't make your spin tingle stand up.....

    then your not human.......

  • ah those were the days i was in high school on summer vacation at my cousins apt playing tekken smoking hash at the time a slave to alternative music but this one song made the worm turn thanks rocco.

  • nice i've been looking for this version.

  • The dave clark remix was crap just beats and snippets nothing an 8 year old couldnt of done , this is certainly "THE VERSION"

  • this song makes me high

  • absolute quality son, this is music..great visuals..u got a talent putting both together..one love

  • The song is on the "City Of Industry" (1997) soundtrack

  • Yep. Just like the description says... :)

  • I had this version on 12" , i always played it at parties then some tosser went and scratched it , 12 years later im still annoyed.

i bought it after hearing the late john peel plug it on the radio , it was released just after they had to change their name from "dead elvis" to "Death in vegas" for legal reasons , the 12" is rare all other versions of rocco are crap compared to this version.

  • Thank you so much KjellBrel! Much appreciated.

  • KjellBrel, my friend Loren has been looking for this song literally for the past several years. Would it be possible for you to send it too him if I give you his e-mail address?

  • I loaded my gta San Andreas with Death in Vegas. Good tunes to cause chaos!

  • thats a good idea actually...

  • What a track!

  • actually yeah you're right.

  • great video. a good version too but i agree with ihatereporters i'd like to hear the album one also.

  • Well, actually ihatereporters wanted this version to have replaced the dub version on "Dead Elvis", but it's good for variation. :)

  • Bluponi, get your hand off it.

  • This is a song that shall live forever on the digital landscape and in the memory of fans of the Replacement Killers ! It makes one realize symbiotic monolithic reverberations which pose a dichotomy between the light and darkness, makes you question the very essence of life, the doorways between Heaven and Hell...

  • Amen!

  • Does anybody know what number of Death in Vegas appears in Top Gear Subaru P2 at 3:07?

    Please.

  • I can not really make out what is playing at 3:07 due to the noise, but the part that kicks in at 3:13 is Dirt, from Dead Elvis.

  • thanx man, it was my mistake, the track I was looking for was Jackson and his Computer band - Arpeggio. I will look again to check what kickin part you re talking about.Thanx again anyway man.

  • isn't this on the city of industry soundtrack?

  • Yup - Like I wrote in the description. :)

Click on "Going down "The Strip" in Las Vegas, ...(more)" up to the right...

  • I have the dead elvis album. I wish they would've put this version on it.

  • ... wow, very similar to the dave clarke remix but has it's own direction and subtle nuances ... thx for posting ...

  • Original

  • tip top. thank you for this...makes me much more appreciative of owning a saab and driving through the city at high speeds with brilliant audio to accompany. :D

  • love Rocco not heard this mix but fucking top x

  • Nice one !!!

  • love it

  • Not heard this version.

Agreed, the footage fits well with the track.

    Well done.

  • Thank you.

This version is much more similar to the version released as a single (though that one naturally is shorter) than the album version.

  • Superb.
