Brilliant adaptation of Dicken's classic! Although The Ghost of Christmas Past came across to me as being some kind of creepy weirdo in this version. lol.
It is good even though Zemeckis has improved on CGI since Beowulf and do you think Avatar captured the CGI movements including facial expressions brilliantly?
Jim Carrey shows how talented he really is by playing eight different parts in this movie.Alastair Sim's portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge inspired his take on his version of scrooge in this movie.
This movie is very good. I am a die hard Christmas Carol fan and it sticks fairly close to the book... strays a little bit at some parts but the dialogue is almost exact and it included all the major scenes. I reccomend it to anyone.
Whoa, I am speechless. The people look amazing! Can't believe it's computer animated. I mean, I know it is but they did a really good job making it look pretty realistic. And Scrooge looks especially menacing here. I feel bad for him though, getting tossed around like that. :(
The Muppet Christmas Carol with Micheal Caine is my favorite, though. ^^
It was a great! Save for the departures from the book. Like the flying at the end of teh visit from the ghost of Christmas past, and the chase scence with the horse drawn hearse, and the shrinking. Other than those moments it was a great retelling of the classic
I went to go see this 2 weeks ago in 3D. This, was sort of weird and scarier than the old one. The jim carrey sgrooge is meaner than the george scott sgrooge.
I don´t have seen the movie yet. But the trailer is amazing! I´m 3D animator and I have to say: I wish I could make such a nice animation :)
I know they have cutting-edge technologies such as motion capture and so on. But there is still a lot of great animator´s work. I like the sequence with falling snowflake and titles, particles are very nice as well. And animation of camera movement is fantastic. And so on.
In other words, some parts were really creeping me out. LOL. Overall, this movie was amazing! Sometimes, I didn't even know what was going on. XD. Amazing that Disney actually made this. xD.
I don't think I would like to see this movie, there is no real acting it is mostly computer effects, and that takes all the feel out of it. What is happening to film makers are they getting lazy?
For one thing, this is probably motion captured. Doing motion capture IS acting. Secondly, even if most of the animation comes from motion capture, the modeling work that goes into something like this is astounding, and is more (although different) work than would go into a traditional film.
I'm not trying to say that what you're saying is wrong
But they actually tried something new with this movie. The actors had to stand in their underwear and change their expression for EVERY expression in the movie and take pictures. It took a looooooong time, so I wouldn't call that lazy.
I was really entertained by this film. Of all the adaptations of this classic Charles Dickens story, this one is one of the most accurate. Nearly every scene and dialogue was true to the book. Great job, Disney
The whole time the Ghost of Christmas Future is there, it freaks me out because it's so scary, yet it's also my favorite ghost! I loved it, and I get to see it again with the whole school.
I haven't seen it, but Mr. Carrey, do you have to star in EVERYTHING? I think you are great, from"Man in the Moon" to "Horton hears a Who" but, GIVE IT A REST!
I agree with NipahNanoDesu, it's a little dark for small children and would be a little hard for them to understand. It's more true to the original story than the sugar-coated versions that some people might be familiar with such as the Mr. Magoo classic. But otherwise a very good movie. I'm actually glad I didn't see it in 3D, I'm afraid of heights. I can only imagine what some parts would've been like to watch.
Its not a happy story its Charles dickens way a pointing out the wrongs of society during the Industrial revolution of how the rich peoples greed corrupts them and how they pay for it in the end if they do not realizes their ways
sigh...Looks okay, but it also looks like it will be using the cheap laughs of pain, and where did the tiny scrooge come from?! And the rocketing off with the ghost of christmas past's cap?!
I SAW IT ANDS ITS THE BOMB lol even though its old fashoned thats a good part about it! and it really teaches you a lesson...don't be a scrooge! and btw the 3-D is AWSOME! it really looks like its popping out at u and at the end theres a grim reaper dude typ of thing its awsome!!!!!!!!
This movie was amazing. I went with my little brother and another little kid and they were kind of scared of someparts. Another thing is, they were a little to young to understand some of the vocabulary they used, or the story line
You people are crazy. Robert Zemeckis hasn't sold out. He's created this new technology that looks amazing, although I doubt it'll be as good as all the older versions.
