Paul Gilbert indeed awesome. However, dont' say vai is overated until to you've been playing long enough to have an informed opinion, and at 14, you aren't. I'm not all that keen on vai's music, but as a musician / guitarist, he's about as good as it gets. Gilberts technique is awesome and I prefer his music over vais, but from an all round musical perspective, Vai is the man. .

@paladintrex Actually, Euegene's has 24 frets, but in fact, you're right, Vai has 24, but, you can reach that sound by doing a full bending on fret 22, but it is also dificcult, so you and clashma have the half ot the reason xD

His hands are actually pretty damn close. It looks like he's playing the beginning in open position, and the rest is just as it should be. The only thing that is noticeably off is his right hand technique. Otherwise they did a terrific job with it, the whole "hand approximation" thing
