Thanks for the free education .... In our place photo schooling is quite expensive...

  • why you wear a cap? inside your house. its badluck lol

  • @imprinceful I've been wearing hats since I was 16. It's an American thing. Some people wear shades in concerts lol. Bad luck?

  • @PhotographersOnUTube in my country its badluck haha xD btw thanks for the vid. im newbie dslr user :)

  • @imprinceful ^_^ what do you think is the best lens for filming? im using canon 7d. they said the 50mm. 1.8 is good?

  • @imprinceful 35mm is better for video. 50mm is entry level for portraits for people on budget but for video 35mm is better.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube thanks. the nikon 35mm depth of field is so good!

  • thanks! i know you work really hard and am really grateful

  • Lots of help! Thanks!! I still need to watch them over and over and over though. This stuff is HARD!

  • I want to thank you soooo much for creating this videos. I have run into brick wall after brick wall on trying to find someone who would help me to learn more about photography (hands on). I have subsribed to you here as well as on facebook. I shoot Nikon, D90. I want to learn as much as I can in the shortest period of time. I am not aspiring to be a PROfessional, but I want to use my camera skills to help people feel good about themselves via capturing great pics. Thank you again.

  • Can't thank you enough for the excellent tutorials!!! You've done an ++A1 job - not only in simplifying complicated concepts for the beginner, but with taking the fear out of using that M dreaded setting.

  • Great Job! Thank you...keep up the great videos

  • Thanks bud, very good explanations

  • salamu alaikum .. glad i stumbled on your videos.. i'm sure they sounded not so confuding because i'm taking a photography course, but still you were very clear and i enjoyed it.

  • @nina3rosa lol. It's not easy talking in front of the camera, I tell you that. In person I'm much better. In my defense, English is my 4th language haha. I wasn't even born or raised in the US. I still don't know what pepole call them lol. I know the big ones are water fall but no idea what the small ones are called lol.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube Oh hopefully I didnt offend I think all the videos youre posting are awesome. i was going to take some small classes at a local college but Your videos are doing a great job ! I was lookin into buying a external mic for my dslr but let me get this photo part down before i go there. Thanks again watched your first 3 lessons plan on working on those 3 focal points for the next week or so before moving on :D

  • @PhotographersOnUTube Not at all. Click on my channel then on the left you'll see About me. Read the last one :P

  • @PhotographersOnUTube "Cliffs", usually a waterfall falls over a cliff. Thanks for these great tutorials!

  • @PhotographersOnUTube Large water falls = waterfalls smaller = rapids, streams

  • Great tutorial!

I have always been interested in photography but lacked knowledge and experience. Using my camera for the first time was very challenging, I was confused by the buttons and settings, but after watching your videos, I got enough enough information to move forward in the world photography.

I watched your first video on Aperture and F-stops and found it very informative, now I am on your second video on Shutter speed, I plan to watch them all. I also subscribed.

    Thanks again!

    オWア

  • @wascencio I appreciate that. Most people are not dedicated enough to watch all the videos specially if they just joined. I've done only 30 videos so far. Not every video is a tutorial but you'll learn something in each video. Don't forget I'm also on facebook for any additional question. If things get complicated, don't let that intimidate you. Eventually everything will sink in and you'll be taking amazing pictures in no time.

  • u r toooo good man.

  • ur so helpful =]

  • i like this sound very clear!!! and very helpul thanks for video!!!

  • are you an Indian?

  • @456thevineeth My parents were born in India. I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. So indirectly you can say that :) Thanks for the compliment by the way. I appreciate it.

  • dude! you're amazing! I'm your fan now.

  • "sorry this was 2 times in a second im an idiot" hahahahhahaha ure funny!

  • I've just recently decided to jump into the world of photography. Your videos have, and are still, making the learning curve much less daunting. Thanks for breaking it all down to such a basic level.

  • @JuhTuh253 Thanks man! Hope you enjoy taking pictures. For extra help you can find me on my facebook. I interact with everyone there one on one.

  • You said"If you do decide to get one, go with Nikon. Better contrast, better ISO performance and very user friendly compared to Canon." Can you tell me what is the Nikon Comparable to the Canon EOS 7D is? That is the one was looking at buying... Pleas advise.

  • @shootinpics Are you Paula by any chance? I just replied to your question on FB. Someone by the name Paula asked this question there.

  • yay i dont have to pay for school to learn something

  • SOME DOOFUS MISSED THE THUMBS UP :))) BEST CAMERA HELP ON THE NET!!!!!!!

  • awesome videos...grt job ...very informative...plz put on more videos of this kind..thank u...i ve been readin basic photography by micheal langford..was findin hard2undrstnd a few thingz..but ur visual explanation is much easy2understnd & absorb...thanks a lot..

  • awesome videos...grt job ...very informative...plz put on more videos of this kind..thank u...

  • great vedio...................................

  • Thanks for the video, very informative. I'm shooting video on my canon 60D, I want to get a balance of smooth motion, and sharp picture, I hear you double the shutter speed for the fps, is this a good way to go about it? Example 24fps, set shutter to 50, 30fps set to 60 shutter, 60fps at 120 shutter speed. I've played around a little bit with it, haven't noticed too much with my untrained eye.

  • @lokkentoons The whole purpose of faster fps is not just smoothness but it also allows you to slow the speed down for slow mo. Some really high tech cameras have 500 fps. Of course they cost thousands and thousands of dollars. You will not be able to tell the difference through naked eye from 30 to 60 in regular mo. Imagine 30 pictures in 1 seconds but instead of pictures, it's video and it goes so fast that you can't catch it unless you slow it down frame by frame.

  • good vid. thanks for explaining it for me :)

  • Great work ...Thank you a lot....

    OBRIGADO ...from Portugal

  • Thanks for the video's. Your explanations are simple and effective.

  • Your explanation was great. I have a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS: Is this a good camera for a beginner like myself? or should I have gone with a DSLR/SLR?

  • @d2dmoore As long as you can take pictures in aperture or manual mode you're fine. You can practice with this and get a dslr eventually. If you do decide to get one, go with Nikon. Better contrast, better ISO performance and very user friendly compared to Canon.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube

You say to go with Nikon but what model is comparable to the CanonEOS7d? That is the one I was going to get. Please advise..

  • @PhotographersOnUTube

You said"If you do decide to get one, go with Nikon. Better contrast, better ISO performance and very user friendly compared to Canon." Can you tell me what is the Nikon Comparable to the Canon EOS 7D is? That is the one was looking at buying... Pleas advise.

  • Awesome video, you are very easy to understand, and as a beginner photographer, these videos have helped me out alot :D

  • your an amazing teacher ! and one question, to get a good balance between the aperture value and shutter speed for the ' silky' effect in daylight do you just have to guess and play around with it or is there any typical values that are good for that sort of thing?

  • @froidalo ignore that actually ;p

  • @froidalo lol. I figured you found the answer.

  • awesome video!! This video helped me tremendously!! LOVE the way you explain things. Just enrolled in photography course and I had to come here to you for the answers! Thank you for doing these videos!!!!!!!

  • @mommyp5 That's awesome. Feel free to let your class fellows know about my channel as well just in case they need extra help. Thank you for your kind words.

  • @SypherDubstep I appreciate that man. YouTube videos are not even 1/50 of the time I spend answering questions on facebook everyday. I have yet to make a dime critiquing/answering questions but it's not about that. One day I will die but hopefully my name will live. Who knows, one of you turn out to be a very successful photographer. It would cool if that person learnt something from me through these videos.

  • how about, if i want to take a picture with a really nice bokeh, my apperture would be smaller number right? but i also want a fast shutterspeed, so i will turn it to 1/200sec for sample... im trying to set this but i cant, im using a d3100, a manual mode would be better? pls help me..

  • @cassey05 You're trying to skip steps Case. Watch my video on Manual Exposure and you'll find the answer. 1/200 can over expose you picture in plenty of light or under expose your picture in low light. The combinations are limitless. Watch the manual exposure video and it will give you an idea. Shoot in Aperture mode for right now and later switch to manual. There is A LOT of info to absorb.

  • are you a teacher? cos you got mad skills about teaching photography to beginners... the best photography vids ever! pls continue teaching us! thank you very much!

  • @cassey05 Before photography I would teach my friends/family about life. My friends call me motivational speaker. Teaching comes naturally to me like photography. I am from the finance industry. Well, used to be until I quit my job and decided to pick up a camera.

  • great vid thank you i learned more from you then any class i took

  • excellent video Jibran. You are very generous in sharing knowledge. Mohammad Shehzad

  • im using a full manual film SLR a nikomat FT to be exact and i dont know how to change the shutter speed...are you going to upload videos on full manual film SLR's

  • @andoru69 I actually don't own any film cameras. You're not a fan of DSLRs?

  • @PhotographersOnUTube im a fan of DSLR's its just that theres a feeling of accomplishment when your using a film SLR when you really need to master the aspects of photography since you won't have the luxury of deleting bad photos

  • I'm like super new i just got my Nikon D3100 and had no idea what to do. I've written down all the important things THANK YOU SO MUCH<3

  • @littlemonster423 THE most important video is going to be the aperture video for you. Watch it, take notes and when confused, stop by on facebook page. :)

  • @littlemonster423 the same for me!! great beginner camera....

  • :D I love all ur videos... 4 a beginner like me, it really helps!! This video says that its the 1st part of shutter speed buy I cant find d 2nd part!! :(

    Please help!!

  • @pshetty84 I'm sorry I haven't done the second part yet. It's basically going to be like night photography where I'll slow the shutter speed down to let more light in and put the camera on a tripod so the picture is not blurry. Long exposure photography is next where I'll first explain BULB mode and how you can photography in complete dark just using moonlight only. Fun stuff. Took some pictures at a cemetery after midnight in moonlight.

  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It has helped me quite understand my new camera Canon EOS D60. I have also subscribed to your FB page.

    Gracias Gibran.

  • lol thats what she said at 10:33

  • thanks dudde

  • Canon 600D or Nikon 5100 - which one would you suggest for a beginner in dslr?

i am switching from canon s5.

i do both movies and pics

  • @MWuddin A lot of my friends have recently switched from Canon to Nikon due to better contrast and ISO performance. I find Nikon's user interface more friendly. D5100 is a great camera. You can check out my website's Useful Info tab for more info on different lenses.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube

thanks Jibran, I was more interested in the Rebel T3i, though will take another look at 5100.

other than the graphics, i think canon has a better (faster accessible/grid) interface/menu as one of the reviewers said.

thanks for the video lessons, I've learnt a lot from them.

  • @MWuddin You should also take a look at the D3100, it's very user friendly especially if you're a beginner

  • @OneTwoOne1212

thanks 1212, D3100 is a good beginner dslr, i am looking for something I can grow with...

I believe the 600D and Nikon 5100 are 2 of the best dslrs in their price range...

  • Thank you for your time! This was VERY helpful =)

  • @shinelikecrystal09 Thank you for watching. Don't forget to watch the main video "Aperture" as it's packed with some useful info on how to change your focal points and basic stuff on focal plane. You'll find lots of links of other videos.

  • @Nk19998 If that particular dslr offers the function then you can.

  • @TyWantsToDance This girl on facebook age ask me a question in a foreign language. I thought she was talking to some other person. Later I learned that message was for me. She also thought I was Filipino lol.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube hi, im from pakistan too...i am about to get a canon rebel t3i, i wanted to ask you is it a good and user friendly camera?

  • @ammariphonefan It's a decent camera but not user friendly. My friend owns it. One of my other Canon friend is actually switching to Nikon. Play with it and see if you like it. My biggest problem with Canon cameras are the focal points. In some models you can't just choose exactly where you want to focus right away. You have to move the dial until the focal point lands in that spot. It's very annoying and you waste so much time doing that. Very hard to photograph kids with that.

  • if u slow ur shutter speed down can u record in slow motion?

  • @Nk19998 No, this applies to photography. In video it's called FPS. Frames per second. For you to be able to do really slow motion you need to have a camera that gives you high FPS. This way you can break each frame to give you slow motion.

  • are you moroccan because you look like one

  • @bonerkiller1296 I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. A couple of people here thought I was from Philippines haha. I'm enjoying these guesses. Maybe my name Jibran thew you off. There was a philosopher/poet Kahlil Gibran who went to Boston University. He was originally from Lebanon.

  • Excellent tutorials! ive just purchased a dslr and have been reading up on all the basics online, but after watching the first couple of your videos ive already understood and learnt more than i ever did reading up the articles myself. Youve made it very easy to understand and the picture examples are a real help too!

Keep on doing what you do!

  • @feesher1 That's great. Make sure you watch all the videos. I don't put up BS stuff for the sake of hits and a few dollars like some of other guys. Every video will be packed with useful info. Do check out the website for things that are not discussed in the videos yet. And for one 1 on 1 interaction with me and other photographers join our facebook page. Again, thank you!!!!

  • I really appreciate these videos. Now if I can remember all the information when I'm out taking photos!

  • Will do, thanks.

  • Great videos, but I have a question- you talk about blurring backgrounds in your aperture video...but can't that same effect be done simply by manually focusing on foreground subjects? ( while blurring the background)

  • @Throwmethewhip The bokeh (out of focus area) is not only achieved by picking small aperture value but it has a lot of do with the lens as well. A wide angle lens is not going to give you a very silky bokeh no matter how or where you focus. If you watch the video on Portraits you'll learn more about what 4 things you can do to maximize the blurriness.

  • your videos really helped me a lot.. thank you sir for doing such a great tuitorial.. two thumbs way up..

  • @iamnumber07 Thank you for sticking around for 14 minutes to watch the whole video haha. More videos coming soon and some mini tutorials on facebook, separate from youtube.

  • this helped me a lot, thank you

  • @gettincozie I appreciate that! Photography is a universal language. All the cameras will understand this. :P Do join us on FB for mini tutorials.

  • great stuff

  • Great tuts Jabran. Appreciate time you took out to share these tips with all of us. (Adnan)

  • Good stuff, thanks. It helps. You should mic yourself when video taping.

  • @msradioman Thank you! No external mic option. I'm using an old Sony digital (non dslr) camera to record these videos. I'll soon get a small camcorder with external mic option.

  • Good stuff, thanks. It helps.

  • I started watching the video with your Aperture lesson and it really helps a lot. Thank you so much for sharing your learning experience to us. I am also taking down notes. Again thank you!

  • @chilloutmood08 Thank you! I'm glad these videos are helping people. It's also good to watch it in the right sequence as well. Don't forget to experiment. Go out and shoot as much as you can. Look at the settings and see the results. It's the best way to learn.

  • Bigger Flash and good lighting. You still don't think the Nikon d3100 would be great for wedding?? I been watching your videos for 4 days now and I must say.I've learned alot.I feel like I don't need to go to school for photography now. thanks to you.LOL

  • @Ashley39553 9 out of 10 times you won't have good lighting in a Church. Flash can't be bounced off the ceiling in a Church as they're too high. If you want to do direct flash, how would you use it when you're on one end and the bride on the other? You cannot step up a soft box because the bride/groom walk. So, you need a camera with great ISO performance and a fast lens that's at least f/2.8 or less.

  • @Ashley39553 lol. I'll take that as a compliment. If you intend to be a full time photographer, school will expedite the learning process. You'll have to wait at least 2 weeks for my videos haha. If you could go to a good photography school, I'd recommend it. Nothing compares to what you learn on field, specially when you make mistakes. You can buddy up with other photographers from school and learn from their mistakes as well. But please, don't buy D3100 for wedding photography.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube

Hello. So, what is a good camera for wedding photography? Thanks.

  • @delacruzneili For weddings, full frame sensor is the way to go specially if you're shooting in a big Church where lighting can be challenging. D700 and up will give you great ISO performance. In a Church you can't bounce light off the ceiling so you totally rely on ambient light. If the camera has great ISO performance, you have nothing to worry about.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube

Ok thanks sir. I wait for your new post on proper posing.. It seems to me that it is what i need most now.. Thanks again sir. I really support your videos.

  • What mode should the camera be on when doing a wedding? Do you think the D3100 by nikon is a great camera for a wedding???
