@hellafan Bullshit. You can't walk down the street in Upper Darby without fearing for your life as a white person. I can walk down 51st and Lancaster and not feel the bad vibes that Upper Darby puts off.
@epohnopulse I am a WHITE 16 year old girl and I am not scared in Upper Darby AT ALL. Most of the people are really nice and its people like you who cause us to have a bad name.
@hellafan That's bullshit. You are just an ignorant 16 year old who thinks she can take on the world. You most likely think Upper Darby is walking around 69th st. You obviously haven't been deep into Upper Darby, where cops get shot at and people are selling drugs on every corner.
@epohnopulse Um who the fuck are you! I fucking live in Upper Darby! Someone got shot on my fucking street so don't tell me that I haven't been deep in Upper Darby! I have lived there my whole life. Just because some bad shit happens doesn't been that were all fucking ghetto drug dealers and killers! You are so dumb if that's how you really see things.
@hellafan It was based on the fact that we had an engineer that lived there - and every late night we worked with him, we had to drop him off in UD while we really wanted to go straight home and go to bed. The song is about the red traffic lights @ 3AM, which take forever. Don't be so damn sensitive...
Heck, I think society owes Upper Darby thanks for such geniuses as Todd Rundgren and Tina Fey.
this show was broadcasted in 1996, the recording took place in dec 1995. not even close to 1997 but not quite. boy, i hope somebody gets fired over THAT blunder!!!
i lived there practicly my whole life, grew up in stone hurst/ long lane. upper darby has an arm pitt and its the stone hurst/ long lane/ 69th st area. and it dont give me the creeps, it gives me a sense to hide whats in my pockets!!! thinking of it, well maybe that gives me the creeps!!!

1. this song is creepy
2. Upper Darby is a melting pot of different cultures and a fascinating place to live.
3. This song sucks...i would love to see these guys when they cam up with their lyrics..."I know!" they say..."let's just say 'Upper Darby gives me the creeps' over and over again!" "Great idea...and let's also have a random spoken word verse with no rhyme or rhythm... " great work...NOT
well duh, of course the songs is creepy, that the point numbnuts. and yes UD is quite multicultural but it still SUCKS. i lived there my whooole life n im glad im gone. as for the song, i think its at the very least pretty eclectic an original. very frank zappaesk, which for the record is one of the greatest musicians of all time, who happened to do PLENTY of weird ass songs with spoken word, n they've already gone down as classics 30 years ago. get your musical education up...DICK
If I am correct (and I may be wrong), it *looks* like they're playing the Rusty Nail, in which case, they're not exactly the great arbiters of Philadelphia metro-area culture.
Hahaha-- I spent the night in Upper Darby once, when i was visiting a girl i knew at Westchester University. It didn't give me the creeps though... wonder what ever happened to her...?
Your band is fuckin awful! HAHA! Why would you ever have a man making peanut butter sandwhiches with you! I definitely lost some brain cells listening to that song!
Great show. I don't know why the comments above are supporting Upper Darby. I was born there, raised there for 5 years and came back about 8 years ago. The town is complete shit. The place give me the fucking creeps. EDO wins at life. Great band. Nice job.
I absoulutely adore this song. This song scares the hell out of my friends and I love every second of this tune.
Thank you for living!

An accurate portrayal of the 3am red lights. Is this song available anywhere else? iTunes? Amazon?

How much money you think these guys made on this song? You still think they live with their parents?
funkycowboy 1 year ago
@funkycowboy We made no money - because we play for fun. And we all have jobs and families... and houses.

I can't say I recall a seeing a Magic Pan in Upper Darby. Where did these guys get their crepes, anyway?
I thought I heard Andy Summers and maybe even Adrian Belew, but that could've been a contact flashback.

It was at the Middle East in Old City Philadelphia.
EDO has never played the Rusty Nail. Last EDO gig on the Main Line was at John Barleycorn's over 15 years ago.

UD and the 69th st. terminal were always crap. Glad I got out when I did in 1950 and NEVER came back!
