@johnknoefler "And there was a city of Tyre a few miles down the coast but it also has been renamed. It was UTTERLY DESTROYED."
Why are you lying? There was no OTHER TYRE just down the coast! That is utter, unsupported bullshit.
The city of prophesy WAS the the same city in the same location as modern Tyre. Always was.
Where do you apologists get these stories? You and this video are completely WRONG about your history and geography. You have got nothing right at all.
@johnknoefler "If you look closely the old city was NEVER rebuilt and was unoccupied. "
Nonsense. If you look you can clearly see that the island, which was ancient Tyre, is now the tip of an artificial peninsula created by sedimentation at Alexander's causeway, joining the island city of Tyre with it's old mainland suburb (which was never called Tyre) AND that the entire area, the old island city, the causeway and the former suburb of the island city, Tyre, is NOW MODERN TYRE!
The Bible is so real and this prophesy is true and the day will come when all will bow before Jesus and say He is Lord. The question is will he say come to me or get away from me.
Tyre has been continuously inhabited since 2,750 B.C. That is over 4,700 years of continuous habitation, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
Never "destroyed utterly", Tyre has remained inhabited (continuously) for almost five millennium.
Tyre has been rebuilt numerous times by its inhabitants, who continue to live there today. Tyre is NOT located "a few miles down the coast" from Tyre and continues to exist, fully inhabited, in precisely the same spot it always has.
@Terncote up until a short time ago all the maps read Sour. If you look closely the old city was NEVER rebuilt and was unoccupied. Both the shore city and the island city are in ruins. And there was a city of Tyre a few miles down the coast but it also has been renamed. It was UTTERLY DESTROYED. nice try though. FAIL.
Snicker. Alandanielson should check out Ozmoroid's video on Tyre. The city is still there. Tyre Lebenon. You can fly over it in google earth. Never rebuilt my athiest butt.
@SaucerheadTharp Perhaps you need to listen a little closer.. The ancient city of Tyre was completely destroyed and the place were it sat is a barren rock.
@MrEhud77 Wow, seven months. Time flies. 1:10 'And the city would never be rebuilt'. Sorry friend, we still have a Tyre. As I indicated, it's in Lebanon. It's on the same spot. There's even a land bridge to the island. There's buildings all over it. I still recommend Ozmoriods video on the subject. He's a cool dude.
@MrEhud77 Do they also fail to utterly destroy Tyre? Feel free to cite the passage that names them. Oh, good job on the name calling. Not only does it make me doubt your maturity, but it also makes me doubt you'll have anything factual or honest to contribute to the discussion.
@SaucerheadTharp well, if you're not going to listen to anything I say because I called a "cool dude" hemoroid I see no point in replying. But anyway... You have to realize that there is what's called apoycolyptic speech, and it doesn't always describe what actually occured, you can see this in alot of ancient histories, "utter destruction" occurs but people survive. In other words, the ancients Idea of utter destruction was different than ours (they had no nukes ya know?)
@MrEhud77 Yet sadly you did. While I believe your response was honest, it was not factual. Nor did it answer my request for a citation. Shocking. Do you know what a prophesy is called that doesn't describe what actually occurred? A failed prophesy. Tyre was never to be rebuilt nor found again. Utter destruction doesn't get much clearer then that. Failed Prophesy.
@SaucerheadTharp I didn't even see that you had asked for a citation... But let me look into it further and I think I will find an actable answer for you. but bear in mind that the phoneician city of tyre was "utterly destroyed" and was never rebuilt, The oldest buildings that stand in modern tyre are crusader buildings
@MrEhud77 Alas...friend Ozmoriod also address the phoneician city angle in his excellent video as well. Please feel free to refer to 8:13 of his video for his discussion on this point. However, as for the oldest buildings, are we having some problem with the phrase "never rebuilt"? Besides, the crusades started 1,000 to 1,200 years after the events referenced and about 1,000 years in our past. Aren't we being overly optimistic for 2,200 year old architecture?
@SaucerheadTharp Simply because there is a city built over the ancient city doesn't mean the prior city wasn't completely destroyed, and 2200 year old buildings do still stand (Look at Rome). Evidently it's somthing I am going to have to reasearch further and that's fine but I see no reason to call the prophacy unfufilled when all of it did in did take place, Including the statement reguarding the rebuilding of the anicent city. we are dealing with ancient cultures and Languages here
@MrEhud77 One sec, our options here are: Fulfilled (per video above) and failed (per myself). If your going to say the prophecy is still unfulfilled then I can say the sun will eventually blow up and can safely say Tyre will be utterly destroyed and never rebuilt. It's not an amazing prediction. The prophecy says 'never rebuilt' and 'never found again'. It was rebuilt under the same name and on the same spot. The events prophesied did not take place.
@SaucerheadTharp I'm telling you that the prophacy is fulfilled , the city of tyre that exists today is not ancient tyre is it? the city of today was built on top of ancient tyre. The fact that both have the same name means nothing. this city is distinct from the ancient city and has an entirley different ethnic population of ancient tyre. Now I'm do research so I can go into detail, But if the prophacy is false all that tells us is that ezeikel is a false prophet...
@MrEhud77 It's funny. You know you started with "The ancient city of Tyre was completely destroyed and the place were it sat is a barren rock." and now you're at "has an entirley different ethnic population". It does, however, mean a great deal when both the ancient and modern city sit on the same location and have the same name. Particularly, as I'm fond of saying, as the ancient city was "never to be rebuilt" or "found again". Over 2,200 years the old became the new.
@SaucerheadTharp their views are things were intirley different that ours. But wait a few years, Tyre is controlled by Hizbollah who knows someone could nuke it like you'd like to see happen.
I looked up the "article" on the Clemson University website. It's not actually an "article" as in, a scholarly paper by an faculty member accredited in the particular discipline being discussed (i.e. christian apologetics or theology or bible studies or HISTORY). The "article" is a statement of Personal Philosophy by an associate professor in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Stan Birchfield.
The island of tyre is populated today, with an entire christian quarter living there. It also has muslim neiborhoods, hotels, clubs, bars, markets, fastfood chains, seaports, and on and on.
google this: ISLAND TYRE TODAY you can even book a vacation there, the place is populated!
@Shoots1978 Despite the UNsuccessful siege by Nebuchadnezzar and it's capture by Alexander the Great, 250 years later, Tyre has been continuously occupied for over 4700 years. It is one of the oldest, continuously occupied cities in the world. It has been occupied continuously since 2750BC. People continued to occupy Tyre despite biblical prophesy that it would be destroyed. The occupants of Tyre have lived there continuously since before the time the bible claims the world was created. .
Mine is that Tyre (the one and only) has been CONTINUOUSLY OCCUPIED for 4750 years. I trust you can appreciate the difference between that and your straw man.
.
P.S. - your photo link doesn't work. Anyway, pictures of ruins associated with ancient Tyre is not the same as *total destruction never to be rebuilt*. I trust you appreciate that distinction too.
@Cpnpd922 What nonsense. After taking Tyre, Alexander the Great revitalised it and it remained an important center of trade, even after being taken in the Crusades! It was never ruined, in fact, Alexander's siege causeway changed the sea currents and created new land upon which the modern city of Tyre (both the island and mainland) are built.
Tyre is a Lebanese city located in southern Lebanon .

And if any of these prophesies have been fulfilled can you tell us about what the bible said would happen, and what happened?
