your voice can change with training, breathing techniques, sing from your chest a bit more, not tryin to be a jerk.. u got a good sound, just a little mono tone on this certain song, it don't suit you'r voice.. listen to alice in chains - nut shell.. u'ld do great with that i think, ben just got a very large range adn uses alot of falcetto... again i'm not tryin to be a jerk...

so clearly you hear this kind of thing all the time - but postal service and death cab are magic bands and ben gibbard is an absolute genius and the fact that you can do covers of their songs and make them sound so unique and amazing is definately a talent :]
