I just want to give my cents on the ear ordeal, i have shown amstaff/pitbulls for a while and they will always look clearner if you crop them. I have only one dog which ears are not cropped and because she was 6 months old when i got her, i wish i had done it since the poor thing has gotten ear hematomas from shaking them everytime they itch. When is bath time its just natural for them to shake them and at this time they also get super red and imflame. I'm a 18 year exp. Vet Tech, its not cruel
@blackmagpit lmfao hematoma is basically a bruise. Don't try to sound all technical to justify why you cropped your dogs ears. It is cruel and makes it look more like a vicious dog. Being a Vet Tech is in no way, shape or form being an actual vet. Why not leave your diagnosis to the actual vets and just sweep the floor after a surgery like your suppose to.
@evilcowboy An auricular hematoma isn't exactly the same as a bruise. It's commonly refered to as 'cauliflower ear' in boxers (not the dog). It's basically a pooling of blood (same as a bruise in that aspect) between the two layers of cartilage in the ear. If untreated it hardens and becomes a permanent mass in the ear. Treatment requires drainage if you don't want an unattractive lump in the ear. Not argueing whether to crop or not with you, just explaining that it's more than "just a bruise".
@DSaton hematomas are all pooling of blood in the body caused by trauma to the area affected . Yes that one is slightly different in that it occurs on the ear causing the ear to deform. But it should be noted that the condition is caused by blunt trauma to the ear. So the amstaff in the video was no more likely to get one if the ears remained uncropped. Unless this guy just goes around punching his dog in the ear. I didn't think I had to write an entire medical journal to explain hematomas.
@evilcowboy Not just blunt force, often times friction can cause it (such as in wrestling hence the headgear). With larger ears shaking there heads can cause it to happen (by causing friction between the two layers as the ears move). But I'm sure you know that, anyways I'm done throwing my 2 cents in lol.

The main problem in your country is that, like the US, there are sick f***s who want to fight these animals and others who dont know how to responcibly socialize and take care of their animals. @ralph3nuis ok first of all that is the most retarded comparison I've ever heard before. The vet isn't cutting the dog's legs off its part of the ear while he's sedated at the vets. Second of all there are several benefits to the dog besides appearance. Less ear infections, no auricular hematomas, ect. If you want a better comparison try circumcision...mostly for looks possibly beneficial to prevent infections. I'm not complaining that I was circumcised. Also they don't cry from the cropping.

Cropped ears can be functional , if your dog is a working dog , lets say a big game hunter. It is less likely to get ear injurieswhen hunting its prey. When your dog is just a family dog cropped ears have its function aswell , it drastically reduces the chance of infections cause of better ventilation. I just want to give my cents on the ear ordeal, i have shown amstaff/pitbulls for a while and they will always look clearner if you crop them. I have only one dog which ears are not cropped and because she was 6 months old when i got her, i wish i had done it since the poor thing has gotten ear hematomas from shaking them everytime they itch. When is bath time its just natural for them to shake them and at this time they also get super red and imflame. I'm a 18 year exp. Vet Tech, its not cruel

@blackmagpit lmfao hematoma is basically a bruise. Don't try to sound all technical to justify why you cropped your dogs ears. It is cruel and makes it look more like a vicious dog. Being a Vet Tech is in no way, shape or form being an actual vet. Why not leave your diagnosis to the actual vets and just sweep the floor after a surgery like your suppose to.

@evilcowboy An auricular hematoma isn't exactly the same as a bruise. It's commonly refered to as 'cauliflower ear' in boxers (not the dog). It's basically a pooling of blood (same as a bruise in that aspect) between the two layers of cartilage in the ear. If untreated it hardens and becomes a permanent mass in the ear. Treatment requires drainage if you don't want an unattractive lump in the ear. Not argueing whether to crop or not with you, just explaining that it's more than "just a bruise".

@DSaton hematomas are all pooling of blood in the body caused by trauma to the area affected . Yes that one is slightly different in that it occurs on the ear causing the ear to deform. But it should be noted that the condition is caused by blunt trauma to the ear. So the amstaff in the video was no more likely to get one if the ears remained uncropped. Unless this guy just goes around punching his dog in the ear. I didn't think I had to write an entire medical journal to explain hematomas.

With larger ears shaking there heads can cause it to happen (by causing friction between the two layers as the ears move). But I'm sure you know that, anyways I'm done throwing my 2 cents in lol.

What I meant by this comment (to which you couldn't connect the dots) is that with its high tolerence for pain the dog really doesn't mind getting its ears cropped. @ralph3nuis ok first of all that is the most retarded comparison I've ever heard before. The vet isn't cutting the dog's legs off its part of the ear while he's sedated at the vets. Second of all there are several benefits to the dog besides appearance. Less ear infections, no auricular hematomas, ect. If you want a better comparison try circumcision...mostly for looks possibly beneficial to prevent infections. I'm not complaining that I was circumcised. Also they don't cry from the cropping.

The reason they have a folded over ear is do to breeding...you don't see wolves with rose or half prick ears do you? Cropped ears can be functional , if your dog is a working dog , lets say a big game hunter. It is less likely to get ear injurieswhen hunting its prey. When your dog is just a family dog cropped ears have its function aswell , it drastically reduces the chance of infections cause of better ventilation. Rots , Amstaff & Pit-Bull are complete diferente breeds. The True is they are very interesting dogs. Amstaff & pitbulls are terriers e Rot is a molosso. Dogs with completely diferents functions . Both graet dogs!!! Learn to like dogs , don´t be fanatic only with one breed. The only thing i recomend is try (just try) to like of dogs who was developed to work and not only for physical caracteristics.Did you already know a Fila Brasileiro ? or a Dogo Argentino? Both dogs with graet history.

a rottweiler will bite another dog in the back and an amstaff/pitbull will bite in the nek.. a rottweiler will lose agains a pitbull/amstaff and i think the biteforce from a pitbull/amstaff is stronger then the bite of a rott but a rott hes weight is much more then a pitt/staff a normal rott hes weight is like 50-60kg a pitt/staff their weight is like 25-40kg that is a big difference ..
