@bhigr it's really not reliable using english translation. The word is translated as a light tap.. not beat. The lack of english the translators used made them develop the word beat into the TRANSLATED text. the Translated text is NOT the Quran, the Quran is in Arabic, so you have to understand the true translation of the actual word presented in arabic. Also, this is also a test for the men who have been given the responsbility to look after the men...

@2006kcl i mean, the men who look after the women... how many men will actually ensure they use a light tap?? so the test is on those too... the men who transgress this limit are truly sinful. Also, you have to also look at the way Prophet Muhammed pbuh treated women... he never beat them, lightly tap them.. nothing... also in Quran is says to speak to the wives with a footing of kindness. why don't you bring this up in your youtube replies huh??

also..O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dowry you have given them - except when they have become guilty of open lewdness. im not sure about the arabic meaning but authority could mean simply 'being helpful'..
