What I don't get is how everyone is complaining about the time you are in the chair. That's what the company is known for. It's there for convenience. And people are human and make mistakes. Next time you people are unhappy with your haircut please go back or contact the salon and let them know you were unsatisfied. I went to Great Clips a couple times and will never go back. There were a few things that annoyed me when I went there. First, they comb down the hair after every single time they clip something, so therefore it will take 45 min to an hour to finish the haircut when it should only take 15 min for mine. Then this fat lady who cut my hair once, kept walking back and forth to each side of my head really slowly as if she kept messing up each side and going back to fix it each time. Got annoying.

great clips blows...they don't take their time and that's what happens at least 75% of the time you go to a place that has walk ins and is a chain. Just go to a real salon, make an appointment, and get someone who a) knows what they're doing and b) will take their time. Also bring in a picture of what you want, it helps.

They expect a haircut to be done in less than 15 mins with approx 3 mins to clean up in between customers.How's that for customer service?! I survived 2 of the 4.99 sales doing 10 to 12 hour days. First:if the salon is busy and you have to wait watch the stylist and look for the person that seems detail oriented, or at least has happy people leaving their chair. Second: try to describe what you really want don't have them cut a little off so that youcan see if they are listening and then ask for a tiny bit more off, the 1st cut is the best cut. When it comes out right, have them measure it for you

Thanks, but the problem with giving out a fake number is: What if GC's database is so clogged-up with phony info, as #'s, and they try calling those #'s and the digits don't match the name that you have to give the stylist at GC? Then GC may resort to making you show your ID or whatever..I don't know. Hell, at least I'm paying for the job to be done; isn't that enough? Big Brother really pisses me off.
Great Clips asks for your number because they keep a "Virtual haircut card" if you don't want to give out your number, give a wrong one that you'll remember. we ask you and it will bring up info from your last cut. say you liked your last cut and didn't know what they did, all you have to say is cut it like last time, and we'll know if you did a #2 back and sides, and inch on top, with slight razor texture. OR you could say last time was too short and instead we'll do a #4.

I feel u, brother, but at least your's isn't as bad as it could be...believe me! I'm climbing the corporate crap now over the chop job this girl gave me...It's ridiculous, and of course this isn't the first shit haircut I got from there, BUT it was a different stylist. Last time, the manager gave me like 4 free cuts cause after she tried to "fix" my hair, she just stood there and said, "I don't know WHAT he did to your hair!" She was a pissed as I was and called for his dismissal.

I think i said you are forced to cut hair in 15 minutes or less. I think thats bullshit. But its my opinion. I dont care for corporations making someone pump out work and technically only giving the stylist pennies to what they actually make. And I understand overhead. And if you have what it takes and kiss ass the way you are suppose to for the client YOU CAN make it as a independent contracter. I am already on my way thatnks to my Great Clips. And my true skill color. Of which not many get.

Its not about the salon its about the stylist. Im a stylist at great clips to actually make a profit off what they charge we cant spend time putting in the extras into the cut we give, we can only basically give you a technically correct haircut.
All stylists are different some know how to work hair in a short amount of time and others will fuck you up. everyone should appreciate the stylist that can take care of you in the manner you desire reguardless of price.

this is so funny. I actually work for great clisp or shall I say as of today I quit! After almost 2 grullllllling years of cut faster,faster Im done! But this skit is great. Supercuts is built under the same guidelines faster,faster! And they pay barely above minimum wage these assholes. They advertise that you can get a great haircut for a great price but truely the customer is only allowed to be in the chair 15 minutes or less and 15 minutes is on a good day.

They fucking suck. I got a haircut there yesterday and the idiot cutting my hair, mind you we told her to trim an inch all around basically, cut my hair about two inches all around and cut my hair above my eyebrows.

great clips blows...they don't take their time and that's what happens at least 75% of the time you go to a place that has walk ins and is a chain. Just go to a real salon, make an appointment, and get someone who a) knows what they're doing and b) will take their time. Also bring in a picture of what you want, it helps.
the difference between someone at great clips and a real good stylist is night and day really

lol I used to work for them and I got stories. It's not necessarily you get a bad stylist it's the circumstances that they work under. They expect a haircut to be done in less than 15 mins with approx 3 mins to clean up in between customers.How's that for customer service?! I survived 2 of the 4.99 sales doing 10 to 12 hour days. So how do you expect to get a decent haircut? It's what us stylists call a chop shop and now you know why but that's just the tip of the iceberg lol.

First part of my comment got cut off. I asked for just two inches off and trim the bangs, she "stacked me in the back" 4'' short, much to my horror. Uneven sides, she had to notice my grimace. I ended up telling her, "I just want it to look even please." Sad. I hate spending $65 on a haircut, that's the lure, the $12. YOU GET WHAT YOU DON'T PAY FOR AT GREAT CLIPS!

Well, well, well, you sure do have a vivid and animated imagination. Allow me to help you. First:if the salon is busy and you have to wait watch the stylist and look for the person that seems detail oriented, or at least has happy people leaving their chair. Second: try to describe what you really want don't have them cut a little off so that youcan see if they are listening and then ask for a tiny bit more off, the 1st cut is the best cut. When it comes out right, have them measure it for you

most people at great clips cannot cut hair for shit. they have major problems following simple fucking directions. i seriously wonder if they are retarded or they do it on purpose. because i think its takes some effort to suck so much at cutting hair.

Well I work at greatclips and I would have to say if you come to a salon like that you get what u pay for a cheap cut. People who come to great clips usually don't give a damn about there hair. Thats why most people go there. A stylist is only suppose to spend 15-18 minutes on you. Great clips is like the proctor and gamble of hair salons. Proctor and gamble sells some shitty shampoos. Greatclips give shitty cut. Hey there are a few good stylist there but u have 2 find us.

I refused, and told her NO WAY she's getting the digits. Strangers could overhear and try calling your house and who knows, plus it's just a blatant violation of privacy. That's why there's a privacy policy posted for you to read. I understand what you mean, I don't like to give my info out. But it's for the same reason everywhere you shop is asking for your # now: to see where people are coming from. Besides, you could always make it up: get one of those fake numbers and give it to them, no one will know anyway.

Thanks, but the problem with giving out a fake number is: What if GC's database is so clogged-up with phony info, as #'s, and they try calling those #'s and the digits don't match the name that you have to give the stylist at GC? Then GC may resort to making you show your ID or whatever..I don't know. Hell, at least I'm paying for the job to be done; isn't that enough? Big Brother really pisses me off.

Great Clips asks for your number because they keep a "Virtual haircut card" if you don't want to give out your number, give a wrong one that you'll remember. we ask you and it will bring up info from your last cut. say you liked your last cut and didn't know what they did, all you have to say is cut it like last time, and we'll know if you did a #2 back and sides, and inch on top, with slight razor texture. OR you could say last time was too short and instead we'll do a #4.
