Nice video .... but why bother? Only those that know nothing about basketball believe that Kobe is better than Jordan. They consist of casual sports fans, brainless twits who will never learn no matter how hard you try and Lakers fans.
i think its right that even players back them against mike were actually scared and wanting to be like mike, form there on..of course mj will have a advantage thatbeing said, its a lame excuse for some to make that arguement mj didnt face tough defense, playes..i eman, duh?!! thats ignorance!!haha!!
thanks for this video!!
playesr like Barkley faced him head on...and other greats did, so its just a lame argument at all
That first sequence of play in the video where the commentator says "Michael Jordan is upset..." ...can someone tell me what game/ what year this was? I've been looking to watch this particular play again for a long time now!
it's amazing what B.J. ARMSTRONG said in the end about JORDAN....that sent chills...but he's right....but you know what,...JORDAN remains the greatest ever, but even JORDAN said out of his own mouth that KOBE was a more advanced basketball player at 19 than he was at the same age...KOBE has 5 rings, nobody can just sneeze on that..and he had to have his own game to be the best player of the last decade which he was, now somebody like KENDALL GILL copied all of JORDAN'S mannerisms but had no game
@scorpionJB When it was said kobe was more advanced that is true because the standards had risen YET he was still behind in what MJ did. MJ took it to a new level by dominating every aspect of the game & without the typical components that were used in the past. One example is he did not have an all star center to hide behind but more important he didn't need one. Also MJ took a losing team to a dynasty where kobe went to a winning team where he was a sidekick and rode shaqs coattail.
@rob23molina I understand all of that, I love Jordan, I had all his wheatie's posters taped to my wall, and I'd started my day off every morning by looking at them to get me hyped...yes, michael jordan started from scratch, but you can't help what team you play for when you're drafted, plus KOBE was drafted 13th in the 96 draft, and was traded to the lakers by the hornets, you play where you're called to play...and JORDAN himself made that statement about KOBE being more advanced at 19 than he
@rob23molina the theory about KOBE "hiding" behind SHAQ, I never fell for that, you can't control who your teammates are, and since SHAQ left the lakers, KOBE'S game never declined, and has won 2 championships in his own right, and has one more ring than SHAQ as we speak, and I've always said due to the sheer magnitude of his game plus his influence, JORDAN is the greatest ever, I've never said KOBE was better, but he has 5 rings, and has been the most talented baller in the league since 2001.
It's NOT a coincidence that his WORST FG% season as a starter, came 1 yr after Shaq left. That's what happens when there's no Shaq present to draw double & triple teams to get him A LOT of open looks.
2000: Shaq 38% to kobe 14%
2001: Shaq 33% to kobe 23%
2002: Shaq 36% to kobe 24%
2004: Shaq 26% to kobe 27% <--Shaq was injured..notice they lost
Check the playoff pts scored & missed shots between them from 2000-04!
Yes..he RODE Shaq's coattails in the playoffs during those seasons
@scorpionJB No. Lebron is a better player than Kobe. How exactly do you define "talent"? Because from every statistical measure, Lebron is a better player. More efficient scorer, better passer and rebounder, better thief and shot blocker.
In terms of all time legacy, I take Kobe but it's extremely close. As for who is a better player, its Lebron.
@boredfun91 do you still honestly believe this after that 8 point meltdown in game 4 of the finals...lolll.....numbers don't mean anything when you don't perform in the playoffs when you're expected to prove that you are "the king"....that's why there's only been a handful of champions, because you can't hype your way to rings...until lebron develops a post game, play w/his back to the basket, develop a mid range jumper and hit crucial freethrows, he's not going to win a title....those are facts
B4 U diss LBJ for disappearing vs DAL, look what kobe's done for his career in big games:
37-97 (38%) in Game 7's
38-108 (35%) in 5 title clinching games
333-808 (41%) in career FG%
FACT: he's shot 40% OR LOWER in 5 finals and has ONLY shot 36% with a 23ppg 1apg avg in ELIMINATION games during the post-shaq seasons.
U diss LBJ for only scoring 8 pts vs DAL, but kobe has 13 career playoff games of 8 pts or LESS. Not to mention he only scored 2 pts the ENTIRE 2nd half of Game 4 vs DAL
@blackadam06 I aint worried about them stats....lolll......all the great players have had a number of sub par play off games, but they wasn't hyped up like LBJ...he's the most hyped basketball player in the history of the nba, and for someone who's marketed to be THE KING, he's supposed to have rings....this will be his 9th season in the league and he's ringless, even after joining a team to form a squad that features 3 of the top 10 players...we'll see what happens next year...lolll
Lemme repeat my self: that's what he's done in games like that for his CAREER, not just in a "few playoff games". This is what he consistently does..
How quickly U forget that he only scored 17 pts in the last 2 games vs DAL this year, and forget that for his CAREER in "elimination games", his team's only have a 8-9 record (losing record).
And when will U kobe fans learn?!! Titles (rings) are a TEAM accomplishment, not a gauge for individual greatness...SMH
@blackadam06 like I said, I don't get into any more discussions about the kobe/lebron debate, that hyped was unleased ad nauseum from 2007-2010...that debate (which wasn't one) ended for me during the 2009-2010 season...as far as Kobe's performance in the playoffs last year, yeah, we didn't win this year, but we won back to back titles....and he was playing w/an assortment of injuries, meanwhile, espn hyped that fake elbow injury that lebron never had during the 2009 playoffs..
@blackadam06 Lebron was not hurt during that playoff series against the Bulls in that first round...that was hyped up by espn...no excuse for a guy who's suppose to be the best in the game and dishes out a 15 point game against boston last year in a crucial game 5, then an 8 point meltdown in this year's finals...you'll be holding your breath yet again as he will fall short next year...because he refuses to work on his game, the flaws that are killing him during major playoff competition
@blackadam06 espn/abc hyped up that series against the celtics this year....Boston's entire frontline was decimated hurt w/the exception of KG, and danny ainge destroyed that team's chances of competing for a title because he traded away the anchor of the defense, Kendrick Perkins, that was not the real celtic team Miami faced this year...the celtics were done when they had to rely on a 39 year old shaquille oneal who's body finally broke down due to 19 years of wear and tear...
Y'all dumb muhfuckas wanna talk athletic capabilities? MJ had a 48 inch vertical and ran the 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds. Kobe studies Way of The Intercepting Fist.... Which one is more suited to play hoops bruh?
They had to invent a defense for MJ called THE JORDAN RULES. What other player has a defense made specifically to stop an individual? I haven't heard of any kobe rules but after that rape thing i'm sure his wife made some rules.
@rob23molina ahahhahahahahahahahaha. his wife did make rules.after ball games you come straight home, and in denver you will check in at a police station for games, not a hotel.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wow your a micheal jordon homer you talk about people being on kobes dick and your sitting there praising MJ likes hes a god or something... I thought this was gonna be his highlight or something and all this video is about is trying to prove Mj is better than kobe and you dont need to capatilize letters every other word
This video was made in RESPONSE to uninformed idiots just like U! Everytime someone highlights the FACTS about MJ in reference to kobe, some idiot like U claims we're "trying" to make MJ look like a god. WTF are U talkin' about?
I don't have to "try & make" MJ look like anything! His resume "makes" him look that much better than anyone else who's played the position!
Deal with it!
U just resent knowing that U can't refute ANY of the info in this video..
lol how was this video made in response to uninformed idiots like me i know MJ is better than Kobe i never denied that... but damn you might as well just get on your knees and blow him
And U might as well post an I.Q. test & showcase it to the YouTube community to show how DUMB U sound..
Validating one's prowess regarding any facet of the game & highlighting that by detailing their consistent on-court productivity = giving them their JUST DUE, not "blowing" them U moron!
Idiots like yourself kill me with trying to insult someone with that B.S. Now get the fuck off of my channel..my tolerance level for ignorant, uninformed & idiotic posters is EXTREMELY LOW these days..
@blackadam06 kobe is a sucker .you know in china many kids born after 1990s regard this sucker as god in the court. The kids who love Kobe are tragedy they love
these young bucks/ ignint fools think Kobe is more skilled than MJ because of his exaggerated forced fadeways and fancy crossovers......MJ used simple fundamentals to tear you apart, and shooting? before the '92 finals started, they said Drexler was a better 3 point shooter, look what happened.....6 treys by MJ in the first half......Kobe holds the record for most treys in a game =12, the difference? Kobe chucks more 3's, haha
If you can score 81 points in a game..................WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY cant you shoot over 50 percent for JUST ONE YEAR...Jordan played against MEN...Kobe plays against boyz...CHEAPEST CHAMPIONSHIP EVER WON....If Dwight Howard waz the REAL DEAL he would have averaged 50 pointz a game in the FINALS......Kobe had All the advantages...Shaq...Jordanz old coach..NBA era with no hard fouls...JORDAN iz like jesus...Kobe iz like Judas
Jordan has a "BOTTOMLESS" hunger to win that is rare in sports today. He's the epitome of what a complete athlete is all about and his fundamentals speaks volume that no one can ever compare. Its time to end the comparisons once and for all cuz for Kobe, LeBron and the rest of todays standards are no where near the level that Jordan had and his genius for the game surpasses any player in history in which he dominated throughout the years NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT !!!!!
There is a lot of people who plays longer than you, performs their vertical leap longer in a game than Lebron, Could windmill dunk from the free throw line, could between the legs from the free throw line, who practice 3 points jump shots longer than you could do in a 8 - 10 inch vertical!
U dumb kids today confuse Physical Ability with Skill & the absurdity of that is CONSTANTLY reflected in these kinda ignorant comments..
Being able to run faster, jump higher or being stronger than someone, has jack shit to do with being "skilled". That comes from pratice, not exercising LOL!!
The "physical" aspect only enhances those skill! It doesn't create it!!
U kids today are idiots!
And y'all wonder why the league has had to DUMB DOWN the NBA in order to appeal to y'all..
once again thank you so much for these videos man...you should make a video on the 12 games mj played the point.....and in 11 of which he got a triple double.....that should add more fuel to the fire for the fight against those who still question his greatness
I always thought the kobe/jordan comparisons was unfair. same for all those compared to mike. what mike did was special because of who he is and the way he approached the game. No one can mirror every single aspect of his approach nor his mindset no mater how much they try. i been a kobe fan since i heard about him in hs. im also a jordan fan so i kno the comparisons as close as his game is theatrically to mikes it will never be the same. but because he's close to his greatness we love him so..
"because he's [kobe] close to his greatness we love him so"
Where's the CONSISTENTLY "close" individual production that "PROVES" what you're saying? That's the ONLY way you'd be able to make any sense outta that comment LOL!!
great videos man. ppl say kobe is a better shooter just because he takes a lot of jumpshots and barely any layups/dunks. and they say MJ got most of his points from getting to the rim. lets just assume that's true, which it isn't. then they're pretty much saying kobe isn't physically fit enough to get to the rim. either way, they're not helping kobe lol
Yeah..it doesn't make any sense no matter how kobe homers try & slice it..
If MJ scored the "Majority" of his pts on lay-ups & dunks, then his CAREER FG% would be somewhere in the high 50 percentile & close to 60% like the Big Forwards & Centers, but it isn't..
That ALONE blows that argument to shreds because the VISUAL proof is right here on YouTube! LOL!!
U can look at ANY of his games & CLEARLY see the majority of his pts are being scored on jumpshots..
Thanks for posting all of this stuff up. You know even as a huge MJ fan I never realized that most of MJ's points came on jumpers, but you make some excellent points especially with that triangle offense and how it is supposed to be easier to score in it than out of it. If Mj figured that out and Kobe is at least supposed to be his equal if not better then why can't Kobe post those same numbers hmmmmm
blackdam ur arguing with HV.LMAO HV is a idiot. He says MJ absolute prime was in 87.LOL Mj got better over the years 88-93 with his jumper and defense. So how is it is prime??While in kome case is absolute prime was 06.
Trust me, he's gotten the message quite clear LOL!!
He is an idiot & he won't be blabbering on with a bunch of ignorant nonsense about any player anytime soon on here.
He apparently is one of these dumb asses that like to discredit the people who've actually DONE the things he claims his favorite player can, but consistently never has..
and the following year, what did the bulls do??? 34-31 before jordan came back, then 13-4 with him...it was a different look team at that point, and jordan, with the aid of rodman, propelled them to the greatest single season record in nba history the following year. that's over a 35 game turn around...dont dare think rodman had most to do with that, only jordan's presence could keep him in check to contribute...that is why he's the greatest.
MJ as a "ROOKIE", taking a team that HADN'T been to the Playoffs since '81 & only won 27 games the year B4 he arrived, was a LESS EFFECTIVE leader than Pippen, who inherited a team that won the title the previous year & STILL had "ALL" of it's players, minus MJ of course, but had ALSO added kerr, kukoc & harper?
LOL!! U don't see the DISPARITY in personnel?!
Do U know how to put ANYTHING in it's PROPER perspective?
Your argument is SO BOGUS because for starters, ANYONE who tries to measure the leadership abilities of 2 players when 1 was the leader virtually his ENTIRE career, vs someone who really only was the leader 1 full season, is a JOKE & a BAD ONE at that..
Now if U think "ALL" of this is "irrelevant" as you're silly enough to claim, & "CAN'T" see just how important his leadership was to that team, U really are missin' some screws upstairs..
look out for hv70 blackadam, he loves dave corzine. According to him, brad sellers, dave corzine, granville waiters and gene banks should have been more than enough for Jordan scrape out a few more wins, but the underachievers weren't responding to jordan's selfish play....LOL!!! that guy is nuts!
Anyone that thinks Granville Waiters, Gene Banks, Dave Corzine & Brad Sellers were "more than enough" to get it done, OBVIOUSLY is missing a few screws..
Next he'll claim the Bulls didn't need to Draft Grant or Pippen because he should've been able to get it done with Juwan Oldham LOL!!
A lot of people think the league changed the rules to make defences softer for the Bulls. When you look at this, one reason why officials clamped down on hard fouls is because players can get seriously injured when they get hit in the air or slammed to the ground. Dont get me wrong, I love hard, physical, proper defence and much prefer the early 90's way compared to todays touch foul style, but at the end of the day its basketball, not american football.
Man check :38. THATS what defence was like back in the day. A triple team collapsing in the lane and shutting off all options. And Rodman blatantly pushes Jordan to the floor-with no foul called. Not a player today could handle pressure like that and perform like Jordan did consistently.
kobe is the most talented player in the league today...why is it so hard for u kobe knob slobbers to just hang your hat on that fact and accept that jordan is still the standard. His accomplishments are incredible despite losing 4 years to retirement and almost a full season to injury. can u imagine if he had those 4 years back??
Yeah. I can imagine if he had those 4 years back. He would have retired forever by 1993 blaming his father's murder & how his father always favored him to play baseball. Face it. MJ was never ever a 1 pro sport athlete. He is built in those bo jackson or deon sanders mode. A supreme athlete who can pursue 2 professional sports. 9 full yrs of NBA with last 3 yrs going over 100 NBA games & add '92 olympics with no break. MJ was a gonner by 1993. Breaks helped him a lot & helped him reflect.
Jordan in 98 wins a championship with his unbelievable heroics, Kobe in 08 loses game 4 of the NBA finals with a 25 point lead and gets blown out by 39 points while the Celtics win the championship. Jordan was also 35 while Kobe is still 29. Need I say more, Kobe is a great player but let him be Kobe and stop the comparing the two of them.
The ignorance of Kobe fans seems to know no bounds..
Selfish?
Look at his lineup at that time, not to mention Pippen & Grant being rookies & coming off the bench, as well as having MORE blocks than 10 starting centers & being 2nd in steals that year..
they say he carried bulls throughout the season....but i didnt see any rise in stats, they werent even identical from 97. asts dropped and pts. pippen misssed less than half the sason, and bulls lost more games than the year before. the point im trying to get to is that, there were more players that deserved the mvp in 98.
Do you know MJ was robbed of regular season MVP in '87 & '89. I mean how da fack do you not give MVP to a player who averages 32.5+ pts, 8 rebs & 8 assists & 52+pct shooting for whole 82 games. NBA favored MAGIC over MJ in late '80s. Give MJ his '87 & '89 MVPs, & take back '98 MVP, I bet even MJ doesn't care. MJ in total ATLEAST deserved 6 Regular Seasons MVP & NOT 5.
dont be a dick. Like I said. Just go look up MJ's shooting pct for yrs that he was robbed of MVPs. Its around 52-53%. Kobe was NEVER robbed. ave 35 ppg at 45% pct FG is a Joke & Selfish. MJ was legitimately ROBBED. What part of 32.5+ PPG % 52+ PCT FG/8 rebs/8 ast for all 82 games do you NOT get. IMPOSSIBLE to do dat for 82 games for shooting guard. Every sports analyst know MJ was playing much better B'ball than MAGIC from 1987. MJ was a true MVP for '87,'88,'89 seasons. Magic had beter support
WTF?? '87 MJ was selfish!!. Killing himself on defense & 1st player ever to do so with 200+stls & 100+blks. Making himself INJURY prone ('86 MJ broke foot BTW) by relentlessly attacking the basket again for victories is "selfish." BUT Kobe is legit MVP for settling for outside 18-footers & 3pters & not playing any true DEFENSE to conserve energy for 3-pt shooting. MAN!! You really need to grow up now.
Pippen missed almost half of the season and also some of the rosters missed part of the games due to injury, the bulls obviously was unhealthy team in 98 but still winning 62 games, overcame everything to win the champion led by Michael Jordan, is it good enough for MVP?
MJ in 1998 played the ENTIRE season with a cracked knuckle & torn ligament on the index finger of his shooting hand, which is "WHY" his shooting % dropped to 46%, which "TIES" kobe's BEST shooting season TO DATE..
Also, with Pippen out at the onset of that season, MJ over a span from 12/17/97 - 1/6/98, averaged 39.8 ppg to lead the Bulls.
Not to mention he led them to ANOTHER Title. With ALL OF THAT being said, who else should've won it?
I don't dislike kobe. I started putting up MJ videos because I was TIRED of dumb kobe homers trying speak on his accomplishments & they didn't know what the hell they were talkin about..
And when they get confronted with FACTS, they have the nerve to claim "your hating"..
That's why people like myself, Bruce, Hoops, Kore, etc., put up videos that CLEARLY refute what they're saying!
It's hard to argue with VISUAL evidence, but them being the idiots they are, they keep trying LOL!!
I hear ya man. It's more or less the people who don't know than the player than the player himself. I think Kobe knows where he stands himself in comparison to Mike, but yo keep the vids comin.
Dude. get off blackadam06's case. Its the faggots like MARK JACKSON who have repeatedly been posterized, owned & humiliated by MJ thru out his career & take a media job to bilittle MJ, Magic & Bird & hype up Kobe to a "will be" greatest NBA player ever is to be blamed. A video like this just sets the record straight.
And he picks his knee up into Jordan at the end too! lol Rodman back then always used to use his knees as a wall to block the offensive player when they tried to drive past him. He'd stick his feet/knee way out to the side so the offensive player either had to cut a wider angle on the drive or go through his leg. The refs never called this despite it clearly being a foul.
The result is contested fadeaway after contested fadeaway, when a little bit of pressure in the post to get the defender off balance would give him the uncontested fade away... Does anyone else also see this in his game and is confused by this as well?
This is a great observation. Like Blackadam said, Tex Winter has even mentioned kobe's inability to hold post position. As a laker fan I would scream at the tv when kobe would end up posted on the block, but allow a smaller player like kirk hinrich push him almost to the 3 pt line. This is one of the reasons kobe shoots his fadaway further out compared to MJ more often. Often times kobe will get pushed out of the post and face his man up 20 feet from the basket. To me, kobe is a bit soft.
Yeh i dont get kobe, when he posts up or tries to fight for post position, he looks easily strong enough to hold his position or even push the guy back further and get him off balance but he rarely to never does! He plays in the post with his body weight centred away from the basket usually (he doesnt have his shoulder down and doesnt deem to fully lean into the post).
Anybody that compares Kobe to MJ doesn't know Basketball... period!! I like Kobe, I think he's the best player in the game as of right now 2008 but he ain't no Jordan. He tries damn hard to copy alot of MJ's stuff, he even kinda sounds like him in interviews, but he has a long way to go to even be on that level IMO. Mark "I GOT MY ASS HANDED TO ME YEARLY BY MJ" Jackson needs to shut his mouth with all that Kobe is better then MJ garbage too.
Obviously Michael is unbeatable but kobe is the only player that I know as compared to MJ does not sound ridiculous. That extremely important to KB feel very satisfied.
"but kobe is the only player that I know as compared to MJ does not sound ridiculous."
It INDEED sounds ridiculous because when U compare what both CONSISTENTLY do or in the case of MJ, "DID" on the floor, it becomes PAINFULLY obvious that he's NOT in MJ's category at all!!
What are U comparing? Their shoes? Their style? What?
Your argument sounds like the typical kobe fans & it can be summed up in this phrase:
"He compares to MJ because he somewhat mimics his style"..
Kobe "ISN'T" anywhere "CLOSE" to MJ in terms of B-Ball skill...
Granted, he tries to copy his moves, but 'mimicking' his moves "DOESN'T" make him as "EFFECTIVE"! He hasnt invented anything we havent seen as MJ fans.
MJ was a BETTER athlete, more CONSISTENT & didn't miss nearly as many shots as Kobe. Hell, in MOST of kobe's games, he has more shot attempts than points!
I guess U guys like the way he looks when he misses over 55% of his shots or something..
How guys like yourself "Claim" he somewhat compares to MJ, is beyond my comprehension.
OK, let's just say for 'Arguments' sake that kobe's "Great" at mimicking MJ's moves. But here's the kicker: his OVERALL PRODUCTION on the floor, & the accuracy regarding "EVERY" facet of the game, is SIGNIFICANTLY & "CONSISTENTLY WORSE" than MJ's!!
So "HOW" on God's Green Earth does he BEGIN to compare?
the mere fact compare Kobe with MJ indicates the great player who KB is. Why not be compared to MJ with Lebron, Wade, Melo, Iverson? There is no need to respond. Maybe Kobe never reaches the level of Michael but it's clear that he is the player who is closer to God.
"the mere fact compare Kobe with MJ indicates the great player who KB is."
No, it indicates the DESPERATION of the NBA to find someone who can catapult the sport back into the most popular league in the world, as it occupied when MJ was playing.
They compared Michael Finley, Harold Minor, Stackhouse, etc., to MJ, so that's a weak premise bro.
The league's "STILL" trying to find a SAVIOUR, thus U see the CONSTANT comparison of TODAY's players to MJ..
I believe KB has the ability to increase his legacy as well, but what separates him from MJ in my opinion is basketball I.Q., which hopefully will increase now that KB is soon to be 30(he ain't getting no younger lol!). I saw alot of flaws in KB and the Lakers during the Finals and I know he's still got a way to go before he can cement his status as a
"top 10" (I put top 10 in quotation because there's many players who are arguably considered top 10 legends) type NBA legend.
To blackadam06: I'm one of the few Kobe fans who is/was also an MJ fan. It's sad to see the kids of today only know MJ by his shoes and not from the legacy that he left as a player.
That being said, I'll admit, KB's my fave in the game today (please don't be mad at me LOL!) but I grew up an MJ fan and to me he's the G.O.A.T. I want to thank you and a few others on youtube for posting up these vids to re-introduce MJ's greatness to a new generation.
I enjoy the "GAME" above anything else. I've said many times over that I enjoy watching kobe play.
My beef, if U will, are with these dummies who try & DISCREDIT anyone "NOT" named kobe, because their accomplishments are a CONSTANT reminder of how DUMB their opinions are regarding kobe's alleged superiority..
Those are the kobe fans I despise. They ALWAYS try to discredit other players, so they can make a favorable comparison for him..
I don't understand how the young'uns can discredit MJ at all. I believe the ones that do are normally born in the 90's LOL! Another thing I failed to mention about KB was that he needs to increase his efficiency and consistency. I truly believe that's what made MJ great even at the age of 40!
"I don't understand how the young'uns can discredit MJ at all."
It's called "Youthful" ignorance & arrogance at it's finest..with the kobe homers I'm referring to, the old addage about today's kids being incredibly disrespectful to those who've done the things they "Claim" kobe can or will, but NEVER does, is embodied in their mentality..
The old "disrespect" to "get" respect mentality is EXTREMELY prevalent within this generation..
MJ was always ridiculously skilled. This ESPN piece(Dumars particularly) makes out his younger, pre-90's self to be little more than a supremely gifted athlete. And that's BS. He may not have been as smart as he eventually became, but he sure as hell wasn't some athletic freak without great play-making/shooting/off-the-ball skills.
Completely agreed. Jordan had most of the same skill-set by 1990 ('91 at the latest), but never needed to showcase all of the ubtleties as much because he could make one or two quick moves and get a good shot. I say this to Kobe fans a lot because it's true: Jordan had every move Kobe has and then some (save for some And-1 hanling manuevers), but he didn't have to employ them as often as Kobe does, since he was both more athletic and made quicker and more appropriate decisions. Continued...
If you watch a lot of Jordan games from '90-'93, however (age 26-30), you will see all of these skills being used at some point. Just not as frequently as a lesser athlete and slower/worse decision-maker like Kobe needs to use them.
Btw, even rookie Jordan was more skilled than a guy like Lebron or Wade (certainly by the '87 season, age 23). Don't kid yourselves. Go watch the games.
Exactly. Besides, almost every players' skill-set peaks by their mid 20's. After that it's a simply a matter of polishing what you have. And that's what happened with MJ, save his post-game(which seemed to get better every year). He certainly wasn't doing any 'new' stuff during the 2nd 3peat that he already didn't possess by the late 80's.
What I dont think Jordan gets enough credit for is that he basically INVENTED the entire footwork repertoire for all modern perimeter players. Before Jordan no one was doing even half this stuff. I wish I could illustrate with video clips.
I agree. The Bulls as a team were something totally different in mid 90s. MJ was still the greatest scorer but there were so many options on that team. Young 80s MJ was just blowing past anyone and carrying IMO a weak team by himself. With guys like Kukoc and Rodman as "supporters" I was expecting them to win over 70. If you watch the old games there is some terrible basketball by the Bulls but Jordan usually finds a away to win anyway.
Completely agreed. MJ between '86-'93 is BETTER than MJ between '95-'98. Absolute BS. MJ had better team around '98 so its perceived MJ of '98 is the best ever MJ. MJ of '87, '88 & '89 was by far the best ever. '87 scoring over 37.1/200+stl/100+blks, '88: 35/5/5/200+stl/100+blks, '89: 32.5/8/8. thats impossible from any standards. MJ of '98 is only better than Rookie MJ, 1st comeback MJ & '01-03 Wizards MJ. definitely NOT MJ of '86-'93.
Nice video .... but why bother? Only those that know nothing about basketball believe that Kobe is better than Jordan. They consist of casual sports fans, brainless twits who will never learn no matter how hard you try and Lakers fans.
Believe me it's not worth it.

WorldOfSnakes 9 months ago
it's amazing what B.J. ARMSTRONG said in the end about JORDAN....that sent chills...but he's right....but you know what,...JORDAN remains the greatest ever, but even JORDAN said out of his own mouth that KOBE was a more advanced basketball player at 19 than he was at the same age...KOBE has 5 rings, nobody can just sneeze on that..and he had to have his own game to be the best player of the last decade which he was, now somebody like KENDALL GILL copied all of JORDAN'S mannerisms but had no game
scorpionJB 9 months ago
@scorpionJB When it was said kobe was more advanced that is true because the standards had risen YET he was still behind in what MJ did. MJ took it to a new level by dominating every aspect of the game & without the typical components that were used in the past. One example is he did not have an all star center to hide behind but more important he didn't need one. Also MJ took a losing team to a dynasty where kobe went to a winning team where he was a sidekick and rode shaqs coattail.
rob23molina 8 months ago
@rob23molina I understand all of that, I love Jordan, I had all his wheatie's posters taped to my wall, and I'd started my day off every morning by looking at them to get me hyped...yes, michael jordan started from scratch, but you can't help what team you play for when you're drafted, plus KOBE was drafted 13th in the 96 draft, and was traded to the lakers by the hornets, you play where you're called to play...and JORDAN himself made that statement about KOBE being more advanced at 19 than he
scorpionJB 8 months ago
@rob23molina the theory about KOBE "hiding" behind SHAQ, I never fell for that, you can't control who your teammates are, and since SHAQ left the lakers, KOBE'S game never declined, and has won 2 championships in his own right, and has one more ring than SHAQ as we speak, and I've always said due to the sheer magnitude of his game plus his influence, JORDAN is the greatest ever, I've never said KOBE was better, but he has 5 rings, and has been the most talented baller in the league since 2001.
scorpionJB 8 months ago
@scorpionJB
Yes..he RODE Shaq's coattails in the playoffs during those seasons
blackadam06 8 months ago
@scorpionJB No. Lebron is a better player than Kobe. How exactly do you define "talent"? Because from every statistical measure, Lebron is a better player. More efficient scorer, better passer and rebounder, better thief and shot blocker.
In terms of all time legacy, I take Kobe but it's extremely close. As for who is a better player, its Lebron.
boredfun91 7 months ago
@boredfun91 do you still honestly believe this after that 8 point meltdown in game 4 of the finals...lolll.....numbers don't mean anything when you don't perform in the playoffs when you're expected to prove that you are "the king"....that's why there's only been a handful of champions, because you can't hype your way to rings...until lebron develops a post game, play w/his back to the basket, develop a mid range jumper and hit crucial freethrows, he's not going to win a title....those are facts
scorpionJB 7 months ago
@scorpionJB
Not to mention he only scored 2 pts the ENTIRE 2nd half of Game 4 vs DAL
blackadam06 7 months ago
@blackadam06 I aint worried about them stats....lolll......all the great players have had a number of sub par play off games, but they wasn't hyped up like LBJ...he's the most hyped basketball player in the history of the nba, and for someone who's marketed to be THE KING, he's supposed to have rings....this will be his 9th season in the league and he's ringless, even after joining a team to form a squad that features 3 of the top 10 players...we'll see what happens next year...lolll
scorpionJB 7 months ago
@scorpionJB
Titles (rings) are a TEAM accomplishment, not a gauge for individual greatness...SMH
blackadam06 7 months ago
@blackadam06 like I said, I don't get into any more discussions about the kobe/lebron debate, that hyped was unleased ad nauseum from 2007-2010...that debate (which wasn't one) ended for me during the 2009-2010 season...as far as Kobe's performance in the playoffs last year, yeah, we didn't win this year, but we won back to back titles....and he was playing w/an assortment of injuries, meanwhile, espn hyped that fake elbow injury that lebron never had during the 2009 playoffs..
scorpionJB 7 months ago
@blackadam06 Lebron was not hurt during that playoff series against the Bulls in that first round...that was hyped up by espn...no excuse for a guy who's suppose to be the best in the game and dishes out a 15 point game against boston last year in a crucial game 5, then an 8 point meltdown in this year's finals...you'll be holding your breath yet again as he will fall short next year...because he refuses to work on his game, the flaws that are killing him during major playoff competition
scorpionJB 7 months ago
@blackadam06 espn/abc hyped up that series against the celtics this year....Boston's entire frontline was decimated hurt w/the exception of KG, and danny ainge destroyed that team's chances of competing for a title because he traded away the anchor of the defense, Kendrick Perkins, that was not the real celtic team Miami faced this year...the celtics were done when they had to rely on a 39 year old shaquille oneal who's body finally broke down due to 19 years of wear and tear...

these young bucks/ ignint fools think Kobe is more skilled than MJ because of his exaggerated forced fadeways and fancy crossovers......MJ used simple fundamentals to tear you apart, and shooting? before the '92 finals started, they said Drexler was a better 3 point shooter, look what happened.....6 treys by MJ in the first half......Kobe holds the record for most treys in a game =12, the difference? Kobe chucks more 3's, haha

I always thought the kobe/jordan comparisons was unfair. same for all those compared to mike. what mike did was special because of who he is and the way he approached the game. No one can mirror every single aspect of his approach nor his mindset no mater how much they try. i been a kobe fan since i heard about him in hs. im also a jordan fan so i kno the comparisons as close as his game is theatrically to mikes it will never be the same. but because he's close to his greatness we love him so..

great videos man. ppl say kobe is a better shooter just because he takes a lot of jumpshots and barely any layups/dunks. and they say MJ got most of his points from getting to the rim. lets just assume that's true, which it isn't. then they're pretty much saying kobe isn't physically fit enough to get to the rim. either way, they're not helping kobe lol
kingkoosky 3 years ago
Yeah..it doesn't make any sense no matter how kobe homers try & slice it..
If MJ scored the "Majority" of his pts on lay-ups & dunks, then his CAREER FG% would be somewhere in the high 50 percentile & close to 60% like the Big Forwards & Centers, but it isn't..
That ALONE blows that argument to shreds because the VISUAL proof is right here on YouTube! LOL!!
U can look at ANY of his games & CLEARLY see the majority of his pts are being scored on jumpshots..
blackadam06 3 years ago
Thanks for posting all of this stuff up. You know even as a huge MJ fan I never realized that most of MJ's points came on jumpers, but you make some excellent points especially with that triangle offense and how it is supposed to be easier to score in it than out of it. and the following year, what did the bulls do??? 34-31 before jordan came back, then 13-4 with him...it was a different look team at that point, and jordan, with the aid of rodman, propelled them to the greatest single season record in nba history the following year. that's over a 35 game turn around...dont dare think rodman had most to do with that, only jordan's presence could keep him in check to contribute...that is why he's the greatest.
bwink23 3 years ago
34-31 is much better than jordan having to never led his team with no pippen over the

TheHV70Channel 3 years ago
So lemme' get this straight..
Where the fuck do people like U come from?
blackadam06 3 years ago

1986: 22-43
1989: 0-1
1992: 0-2
1993: 1-3

MJ's record B4 Pippen? The Bulls hadn't been to the Playoffs since '81 & only won 27 games the previous year to his arrival.
MJ as a ROOKIE leads them in 4 of 5 categories & leads them into the Playoffs where they lost to an Obvious better Bucks team & he avg'd 29 a game!

A lot of people think the league changed the rules to make defences softer for the Bulls. When you look at this, one reason why officials clamped down on hard fouls is because players can get seriously injured when they get hit in the air or slammed to the ground. Dont get me wrong, I love hard, physical, proper defence and much prefer the early 90's way compared to todays touch foul style, but at the end of the day its basketball, not american football.
jumpnam 3 years ago
Man check :38. THATS what defence was like back in the day. A triple team collapsing in the lane and shutting off all options. And Rodman blatantly pushes Jordan to the floor-with no foul called. Not a player today could handle pressure like that and perform like Jordan did consistently.

bwink23 3 years ago

The ignorance of Kobe fans seems to know no bounds..
Selfish?
Look at his lineup at that time, not to mention Pippen & Grant being rookies & coming off the bench, as well as having MORE blocks than 10 starting centers & being 2nd in steals that year..
Your argument makes no sense at all..
Rookie MJ: 28ppg, 6rpg, 6apg, 2spg, (51% fg) & 25.8 PER <--the kicker
'08 Kobe: 28ppg, 6rpg, 5apg, 1spg, (45% fg) & 24.2 PER <--LOL

'98 MJ: 28ppg, 6rpg, 4apg, 2spg, (46% fg%) & 25.2 PER <--again, that's the kicker
'08 KB: 28ppg, 6rpg, 5apg, 1spg, (45% fg) & 24.2 PER <--best indicator for OVERALL production.
And that was a "DOWN" year for MJ!
KB B4 Handchecking: 561 games - 21.77 ppg on 42% shooting
KB AFTER the Anti-Handcheck/3- Sec Rule: 273 games - 31.75 ppg on 46% shooting

hey, thats great about mj just getting 3-4 more percent than kobe.
but compare 18% from 3pt to kobes 34 % threepoint.
does that mean jordan sucks? no.
does that mean it automatically mean kobes better just because of %?
NO!
Kobe started to increase his scoring every healthy year.
im not saying kobe is better than jordan in stats.

blackadam06 3 years ago
alright, great, now look at this fact.
pippen led his team to 55 wins (2 less than year before) with PETE MYERS STARTING ON MJ'S SPOT.
thats like deshawn stevenson or martell webster starting on kobes spot and lakers winning 55.
TheHV70Channel 3 years ago
you know, mj's stats in 98 fell drastically.
they say he carried bulls throughout the season....but i didnt see any rise in stats, they werent even identical from 97. asts dropped and pts. pippen misssed less than half the sason, and bulls lost more games than the year before. the point im trying to get to is that, there were more players that deserved the mvp in 98.
TheHV70Channel 3 years ago
Do you know MJ was robbed of regular season MVP in '87 & '89. I mean how da fack do you not give MVP to a player who averages 32.5+ pts, 8 rebs & 8 assists & 52+pct shooting for whole 82 games. NBA favored MAGIC over MJ in late '80s. Give MJ his '87 & '89 MVPs, & take back '98 MVP, I bet even MJ doesn't care. MJ in total ATLEAST deserved 6 Regular Seasons MVP & NOT 5.
mnkhan2020 3 years ago
sure, ex: take away kobes 08 mvp, and give him the 2002 03 and 05 06 mvp.
alot of players get robbed and shit happens.
TheHV70Channel 3 years ago
dont be a dick. Magic had beter support
mnkhan2020 3 years ago
87 jordan shot 18% from 3pt%, doesnt mean hes a shitty player tho, or selfish.
actually, 87 was a selfish season.
89, well w/e 47 wins is not quite a winning record.
look at lebron this season, nuff said.
TheHV70Channel 3 years ago
MAN!! You really need to grow up now.
mnkhan2020 3 years ago
Pippen missed almost half of the season and also some of the rosters missed part of the games due to injury, the bulls obviously was unhealthy team in 98 but still winning 62 games, overcame everything to win the champion led by Michael Jordan, is it good enough for MVP?
accepttrue 3 years ago
MJ in 1998 played the ENTIRE season with a cracked knuckle & torn ligament on the index finger of his shooting hand, which is "WHY" his shooting % dropped to 46%, which "TIES" kobe's BEST shooting season TO DATE..
Also, with Pippen out at the onset of that season, MJ over a span from 12/17/97 - 1/6/98, averaged 39.8 ppg to lead the Bulls.
Not to mention he led them to ANOTHER Title. With ALL OF THAT being said, who else should've won it?
blackadam06 3 years ago
Yo tight vid but just wonderin; do you like Kobe at all?
soowuave 3 years ago
I don't dislike kobe. I started putting up MJ videos because I was TIRED of dumb kobe homers trying speak on his accomplishments & they didn't know what the hell they were talkin about..
And when they get confronted with FACTS, they have the nerve to claim "your hating"..
That's why people like myself, Bruce, Hoops, Kore, etc., put up videos that CLEARLY refute what they're saying!
It's hard to argue with VISUAL evidence, but them being the idiots they are, they keep trying LOL!!
blackadam06 3 years ago
I hear ya man. It's more or less the people who don't know than the player than the player himself. I think Kobe knows where he stands himself in comparison to Mike, but yo keep the vids comin.
soowuave 3 years ago
Dude. get off blackadam06's case. Its the faggots like MARK JACKSON who have repeatedly been posterized, owned & humiliated by MJ thru out his career & take a media job to bilittle MJ, Magic & Bird & hype up Kobe to a "will be" greatest NBA player ever is to be blamed. A video like this just sets the record straight.
mnkhan2020 3 years ago
And he picks his knee up into Jordan at the end too! lol Rodman back then always used to use his knees as a wall to block the offensive player when they tried to drive past him. He'd stick his feet/knee way out to the side so the offensive player either had to cut a wider angle on the drive or go through his leg. The refs never called this despite it clearly being a foul.
jordanlover23 3 years ago
Never noticed how that otehr Pistons player behind Jordan actualy pushes him to the ground at the 42 second mark. Grimy.
jordanlover23 3 years ago
Just noticed it, it was Rodman.
Frank87 3 years ago
The result is contested fadeaway after contested fadeaway, when a little bit of pressure in the post to get the defender off balance would give him the uncontested fade away... Does anyone else also see this in his game and is confused by this as well?
candiasis333 3 years ago
This is a great observation. Like Blackadam said, Tex Winter has even mentioned kobe's inability to hold post position. As a laker fan I would scream at the tv when kobe would end up posted on the block, but allow a smaller player like kirk hinrich push him almost to the 3 pt line. This is one of the reasons kobe shoots his fadaway further out compared to MJ more often. Often times kobe will get pushed out of the post and face his man up 20 feet from the basket. To me, kobe is a bit soft.
spokcam 3 years ago
Yeh i dont get kobe, when he posts up or tries to fight for post position, he looks easily strong enough to hold his position or even push the guy back further and get him off balance but he rarely to never does! He plays in the post with his body weight centred away from the basket usually (he doesnt have his shoulder down and doesnt deem to fully lean into the post).
candiasis333 3 years ago
Anybody that compares Kobe to MJ doesn't know Basketball... period!! I like Kobe, I think he's the best player in the game as of right now 2008 but he ain't no Jordan. He tries damn hard to copy alot of MJ's stuff, he even kinda sounds like him in interviews, but he has a long way to go to even be on that level IMO. Mark "I GOT MY ASS HANDED TO ME YEARLY BY MJ" Jackson needs to shut his mouth with all that Kobe is better then MJ garbage too.
JalalLatif 3 years ago
love these vids u have showing these dumbfucks who MJ was and what kobe is not and wont ever be
derkach77 3 years ago
Obviously Michael is unbeatable but kobe is the only player that I know as compared to MJ does not sound ridiculous. That extremely important to KB feel very satisfied.
Salva46 3 years ago
"but kobe is the only player that I know as compared to MJ does not sound ridiculous."
It INDEED sounds ridiculous because when U compare what both CONSISTENTLY do or in the case of MJ, "DID" on the floor, it becomes PAINFULLY obvious that he's NOT in MJ's category at all!!
What are U comparing? Their shoes? Their style? What?
Your argument sounds like the typical kobe fans & it can be summed up in this phrase:
"He compares to MJ because he somewhat mimics his style"..
blackadam06 3 years ago
LOL!!
blackadam06 3 years ago
How guys like yourself "Claim" he somewhat compares to MJ, is beyond my comprehension.
OK, let's just say for 'Arguments' sake that kobe's "Great" at mimicking MJ's moves. But here's the kicker: his OVERALL PRODUCTION on the floor, & the accuracy regarding "EVERY" facet of the game, is SIGNIFICANTLY & "CONSISTENTLY WORSE" than MJ's!!
So "HOW" on God's Green Earth does he BEGIN to compare?
blackadam06 3 years ago
the mere fact compare Kobe with MJ indicates the great player who KB is. Why not be compared to MJ with Lebron, Wade, Melo, Iverson? There is no need to respond. Maybe Kobe never reaches the level of Michael but it's clear that he is the player who is closer to God.
Salva46 3 years ago
"the mere fact compare Kobe with MJ indicates the great player who KB is."
No, it indicates the DESPERATION of the NBA to find someone who can catapult the sport back into the most popular league in the world, as it occupied when MJ was playing.
They compared Michael Finley, Harold Minor, Stackhouse, etc., to MJ, so that's a weak premise bro.
The league's "STILL" trying to find a SAVIOUR, thus U see the CONSTANT comparison of TODAY's players to MJ..
blackadam06 3 years ago
If I was on trial and the jury was a bunch of Kobe fans, I'm in deep shit cuz all the facts and proof wouldn't mean a damn thing. lol

I believe KB has the ability to increase his legacy as well, but what separates him from MJ in my opinion is basketball I.Q., which hopefully will increase now that KB is soon to be 30(he ain't getting no younger lol!). I saw alot of flaws in KB and the Lakers during the Finals and I know he's still got a way to go before he can cement his status as a
"top 10" (I put top 10 in quotation because there's many players who are arguably considered top 10 legends) type NBA legend.
clarkman83 3 years ago
To blackadam06: I'm one of the few Kobe fans who is/was also an MJ fan. It's sad to see the kids of today only know MJ by his shoes and not from the legacy that he left as a player.
That being said, I'll admit, KB's my fave in the game today (please don't be mad at me LOL!) but I grew up an MJ fan and to me he's the G.O.A.T. I want to thank you and a few others on youtube for posting up these vids to re-introduce MJ's greatness to a new generation.
clarkman83 3 years ago
Hey I aint mad at'cha..
They ALWAYS try to discredit other players, so they can make a favorable comparison for him..
blackadam06 3 years ago
I don't understand how the young'uns can discredit MJ at all. I believe the ones that do are normally born in the 90's LOL! Another thing I failed to mention about KB was that he needs to increase his efficiency and consistency. I truly believe that's what made MJ great even at the age of 40!
clarkman83 3 years ago
"I don't understand how the young'uns can discredit MJ at all."
It's called "Youthful" ignorance & arrogance at it's finest..with the kobe homers I'm referring to, the old addage about today's kids being incredibly disrespectful to those who've done the things they "Claim" kobe can or will, but NEVER does, is embodied in their mentality..
The old "disrespect" to "get" respect mentality is EXTREMELY prevalent within this generation..
blackadam06 3 years ago
He's not only the best basketball player ever, he's the smartest basketball player ever
jaboo82681 3 years ago
I didn't know that MJ's retirement came within 24 hrs of my favorite football team the Eagles hiring Andy Reid.
jaboo82681 3 years ago
MJ was always ridiculously skilled. This ESPN piece(Dumars particularly) makes out his younger, pre-90's self to be little more than a supremely gifted athlete. And that's BS. He may not have been as smart as he eventually became, but he sure as hell wasn't some athletic freak without great play-making/shooting/off-the-ball skills.
1998 MJ is NOT better than a 35/5/5 DPOY.
SPMJ 3 years ago
Completely agreed. Jordan had most of the same skill-set by 1990 ('91 at the latest), but never needed to showcase all of the ubtleties as much because he could make one or two quick moves and get a good shot. I say this to Kobe fans a lot because it's true: Jordan had every move Kobe has and then some (save for some And-1 hanling manuevers), but he didn't have to employ them as often as Kobe does, since he was both more athletic and made quicker and more appropriate decisions. Continued...
jordanlover23 3 years ago
If you watch a lot of Jordan games from '90-'93, however (age 26-30), you will see all of these skills being used at some point. Just not as frequently as a lesser athlete and slower/worse decision-maker like Kobe needs to use them.
jordanlover23 3 years ago
Btw, even rookie Jordan was more skilled than a guy like Lebron or Wade (certainly by the '87 season, age 23). Don't kid yourselves. Go watch the games.
jordanlover23 3 years ago
jordanlover and spmj: i completely agree with you two said .
popeyeisgood 3 years ago
SPMJ 3 years ago
What I dont think Jordan gets enough credit for is that he basically INVENTED the entire footwork repertoire for all modern perimeter players. Before Jordan no one was doing even half this stuff. I wish I could illustrate with video clips.
jordanlover23 3 years ago
RR0849 3 years ago
Completely agreed. MJ between '86-'93 is BETTER than MJ between '95-'98. Absolute BS. MJ had better team around '98 so its perceived MJ of '98 is the best ever MJ. MJ of '87, '88 & '89 was by far the best ever. '87 scoring over 37.1/200+stl/100+blks, '88: 35/5/5/200+stl/100+blks, '89: 32.5/8/8. thats impossible from any standards. MJ of '98 is only better than Rookie MJ, 1st comeback MJ & '01-03 Wizards MJ. definitely NOT MJ of '86-'93.

is that guy at 4:50 Tim Glover?

yeah.... MJ's trainer and owner of "Hoops" gym.
Thx for the upload.
I'm sure they'll find an excuse and try to spin it at usual.
