  • The only reason black people are poor is because they are inherently stupid, ugly and have anamilistic characteristics. NOT A RACIST, JUST A REALIST

    FUCKING NIGGERS!

  • People need to stop having so many kids. It is almost like kids are the cause of most Americans financial problems whether directly or indirectly

  • How is this non partisan news? Everyone on that video was a Democrat.

  • danny glover for president 08'

  • It's obvious that "Real News" is a Democratic Party front (liberal drive-by media).

Truth has no race or gender.

Elect McCain and Palin in 2008!!

  • Severely obvious. This is one of the most insane "news" organizations I have ever seen.

  • maybe, but fuck the Democrats. and McCain is a sell out and a fraud. He sold his soul to corporate elite a few years ago.

  • hell yeah

  • Obama and McCain a 2 sides of the same fascist coin.

Obama is against single payer universal health care. He is against holding the Bush war criminals accountable by impeaching them.

He is not opposed to the "war on drugs", or the "war on the working class".

Obama has said he will leave 50,000 troops in Iraq and "redeploy" troops to Afghanistan!

I support Ralph Nader %100! Nader has strategies and policies to move us forward.

The corporate media does not cover it.

    Let NADER DEBATE!

  • that campaign is so stupid obama is gonna win because he is black and all his ''brother'' will vote for him.America is that simple.

  • "that campaign is so stupid obama is gonna win because he is black and all his ''brother'' will vote for him.America is that simple."

So would you be happier if Obama was white, I don't understand that Obama will win because he is black. Who is to say he will win? Also regardless of who is in office if one thinks the government will fix their problems, like Michael Jackson said "the man in the mirror" enough said.

  • George Will is right.

  • Geogre Wills aint said shit. Im eating HOT POCKETS BITCH! Fix the fucking economy.

  • lol, thanks Blac. Made me actually laugh out loud.

  • Im voting for Nader, if you wanna fix the problem stop voting it into office.

  • obama has an advisor called brzinsky he is a bilderberger.. obama has not said he will stop the wars.. he is happy to send 1 billion dollars in aid to georgia even tho georgia illegally attacked rusians in south ossetia.whilst black people starve and are homeless in new orleans.. and mcain is just a nazi maniac staight up. you vote for your doom either way

  • "why does owning a home disqualify you?"

Because 2/3's of americans don't own theirs. They don't represent a lot of us. And representation is the only thing that keeps a republic going. Its been lost for ages.

  • I am SICK of people sayin AFRICAN AMERICAN,,, Why? Because what is wrong with bein BLACK? If you say African American than that means bein black is BAD. Obama is INTERRACIAL.. he is not just black... Thus, he is NOT the first BLACK democratic nominee. He is the first INTERRACIAIL. My son is half BLACK and this crap offends me.

  • what you just said offends me.

Like the color of your skin affected anything but your UV radiation tolerance.

  • get real.. I'm white, and if I was black I'd have had a far different experience

  • you assume though. How could you possibly know its not merely living in poverty. And poverty is no picnic what color of skin you have.

  • whatever man, I'm guessing you're white and not impoverished, and from that frame of mind, its a comfortable theory. I live in D.C., which is probably the most segregated city in America (racially, economically, educationally, etc), and as liberal and P.C. as it is, I know my world would be radically different if my skin was brown.

We can hope and wish race didn't/wont influence people so much, but it does right now, and denying it is useless. It will and is changing, but its a fact regardless.

  • your assuming too much again.

Its complete superfluous what you call someone when its all names for skin color.

Its the people's racism like yourself that cause this mess. Not their skin color.

  • I wouldn't write any further to this internet junk.. but look, really, drop your imaginary lofty ideal that (I am guessing). Recognizing racism doesn't make you racist. I'm not being an apologist for the people who don't/couldn't get beyond it, and let define and repress themselves, but I don't know.. come to D.C. see a really different face of racism.

  • People on the receiving end of racism have a different experience than those who don't - thats untrue?

I don't apologize for someone's 'failings' but I've got empathy. Where racism is as institutionalized and apparent as in this city. I don't imagine it wouldn't be a different experience if my skin was a different color, if I did, I'm sure I wouldn't understand their experience.. and I'd either be apathetic or diluted - which is what you seem to be, honestly.

  • Don racist pigs have always been around through out history. Persicution is an inerhant part of life. Preferances have been subliminaly to blatent beligerance has happened and still continues to happen. Now and then it happens to me. Then i remeber what my grandfather told me about the drowning man. Today it could be a 8 ft blackman with chinese eyes speaking yidish wearing a miniskirt that reaches down to save you from drowning. It does not take much to offer that hand across to anyone anywhere

  • Dude, from what I understand, "African-American" is politically correct for "Black man". It seems some black folks are offended by the word black. And also, my partner at work is half-black like you say, except I use the term "mulatto", is that offensive? Just wanna know cuz up here in Canada, it's ok to say mulatto or metis, though metis has more to do with Aboriginals and Asians. Cheers dude!

  • Tell you the Truth, Im black and I cant stand being called African Amercian. Not that I have a problem with my african roots, just I and most people I know prefer to be called black. And why wouldn't I, I happy being a black man.

  • The term African American allows to differentiate and distinguish black Americans from blacks in Africa and other countries, in my opinion, so you shouldn't take offense.

  • But Im in America, not in Africa so why would you need to differeniate between me and someone who lives thousands of miles away. Call them Afican because theyre in Africa and call me Black. Or better yet call me Black American. Now if your from Africa and living in American now, you can be called African American.

Most Aficans dont consider Blacks born here in America to be African anyway. So why would I want to be referenced as a people that doesnt recognise me as one of them?

  • And there are no Africans, Jamaicans, Brazilians, etc., in the USA?

  • But there a huge distinctions in the nations you have listed. As far as culture, language and even beliefs. You cant say that Africans, Jamaicans and Brazillians are all the same . Im a Black man whos roots are in America for over 400 years.

Sure are skin tones may be the same as those you mention, but we are diffently not as similar as you may believe. Is that what your baseing argument on, please explain in what way you see the we should all fall under the same identification.

  • Vier....if a woman comes over the border to have her child in America the child is American, not Mexican. The child does have a Mexican heritage for a few generations but then it will be lost. Ask a black person or a white person to clarify if they are English-American, Irish-American, or African-American and they will give you a "whhhaaatt" expression. Not many know where their ancestors come from. We are "We The People". Now people here illegally or on visa are a different story.

  • That is extremely sad - roots are important and even vital for the psyche. No wonder the USA is a lost cause.

  • Knowing who you were and were you are from is wonderful thing dont get me wrong, But knowing were who you are and where your at now is even more vital. And the most important thing is to define that for yourself and not letting someone else define it for you.

Some times I feel like when the word African is put before Amercian (African American), is like being Im being told Im American but with the one exception, like Im half American. This is just as much my country as everyone else born here.

  • It is a good point you make Vie, very true. A majority of our children today that should be rich with multiple heritages & family traditions are actually displaced. Our children do not fit our standardized profiles. They deserve a new heritage. One that conquers the old stereotypes, stands apart from corporate global, changes our addiction to crude, controls green house emissions, and cleans up the dead zones in our oceans. They deserve health care and the SSA should be there for them.

  • Oh God bless you. I am so sick of the African-American title I can't hardly stand it. I find it very refreshing for you to be simply an American :)

The reason I am sick of it is because we over came so much here in the U.S. and Africa did not. What is happening to their people today is horrific. The problem today in America is not really race as much as it is elites and poor...poor are poor regardless of race, sex or religion and the fastest growing class of people there is in America today.

  • i know but some people on here would have actually read that and thought you were dead serious.

  • If Obama wins, there will be a race war! Manson was right!

  • you need to stop listening to Helter Skelter and taking lsd.

  • hey dude, you need to look up "sarcasm". Who in their right mind could say something like that and be serious? Anyways you seem alright, cheers! ;)

  • jokes on me :P

    "Why so serious?"

  • maybe but i know thing alot racist people try to kill him and also alot will kill their selves

  • Dude, I was being sarcastic! But I agree with you that he might be the target of an assassination plot if he's elected. Some folks can't see people for anything else but skin color. I think that, whoever wins the November elections is gonna fuck shit up, bad. Bush will be leaving a real stinky mess behind when he leaves office, I'm sure.

  • The problem of poverty cannot be solved as long as people believe in the reality of money.

  • The Real News needs to hire a real camera coordinator. You DO NOT switch to camera 2 while the show's host is still talking in camera 3, no matter how badly you want to show off your guest. You wait until he stops talking, or until the guest STARTS talking, you dont show off the back of your show host's head while he's in mid sentence.

  • I agree with you 100% I'm Canadian and we have undergone many changes in our policies since 911 also. Our Conservative gov is like a monkey imitating America. There's even talk about making us into a big country with Mexico and erasing all the borders! I really like Americans, but I also love my French-Canadian heritage as well, so I feel we need to be 2 distinct Nations. We've always been good neighbors and it has to stay that way! Cheers!

  • Actually the NEOCONZ & NEOLIBZ REPIGZ are attempting to move the USA towards a Sectarian Civil War between Secularism & Christainz.

    It is written in their scriptures;

They will give everyone who agrees with them the mark of the beast and stave to death those who refuse and without the mark.

  • the question is, will black people change as a collective? and quit being underdeveloped by outside interests.

  • I come from Canada and up here, the black community could teach whitey a lesson about solidarity and tolerance. Except for the big-city gang types, most of them work to feed their families and a lot of times doing a job that you and me would refuse at minimum wage. I think us whites should pass them the puck sometime, I'm pretty sure they'd bring it up to the net and score! Racism is a disease and unfortunately, most of the time, us whites are at the source of the contagion. Peace!

  • single white guy - where's my $35K !!!!! Right....I'm not 'average' - - -'average -what? Average to many may not be average in REALITY.

  • I think Obama already did enough for the black community by being the Dem. nominee

...the rest is up to the black communities!

  • The executive office is not responsible to "take care" of one segment of the population. RTFC ! (Read The Frickin Constitution)

  • Why is it always the issue of the government doing right by black people? To some extent the government should reach out to this disaffected population, but the government should not be expected to coddle these people. For instance, look at Hispanics who in a couple of generations after coming to this country with literally nothing are now entering the middle class at a rate higher than other minority groups. Hispanics have even greater disadvantages than blacks, yet they are flourishing.

  • "Hispanics have even greater disadvantages than blacks, yet they are flourishing. "

Are they and if that is the case then they shouldn't have a problem with stricter immigration laws for people who are here illegally. Also what middle class are you talking about?

  • Yeah, ask Hillary if she's really a woman - LMAO.

  • Obama won't do much for them beyond a few symbolic gestures. Sort of like Bill Clinton. He'll play the sax and act cool around black folks in front of the cameras, but meanwhile he cut social services and sent them to prison in record numbers.

  • obama does not acknowledg the north american union which is the neocon slave trade route of the future..everyone should know this..it's wrong..

  • I expect nothing from Obama and McCain to do right by the black community.

  • " expect nothing from Obama and McCain to do right by the black community"

Absolutely. Also black americans contribute over 678 millon dollars to the economy as consumers, what were blacks doing before OBama and what will they do after. Simple as that. I never look towards any man to solve my problems.
