She comes online and chats there and on her My Space page also. go to her concerts when she comes to town and wait till after the show, generally she signs autographs after and she is so approachable. She gave her online "cuzzins" a party in Washington DC back in 2002 0r 2003, with her mom's cookin...what famous singer you know does that. I drove all the way to DC for it, it was off the chain ! SHE rented out a club for us.

  • @DarkSideStars NEWSFLASH. It is the love of Incognito's music & the vocal talents of Maysa Leak that brings us here. I've had enough of those stupid who & what brought you here or thumbs up if you're still listening to this comments. Go somewhere and get a life. Youtube is a site for people who enjoy the music and the talents of the artist they are listening too. No one is interested in your childlike mindless silly ass survey. • from what Iv'e learned Incognito isnt exactly a band, its really a group of people that sarted the Acid Jazz revolution some time back in the late 80's. It has famous members that include Maysa Leak, Chris Botti, and Tony Momrelle, and Mark Anthoni. I like their sound.

  • maysa tore this song up last night. if you weren't there you missed a hell of a show

  • Bluey (Incognito) wrote this song when Maysa was in a relationship and you can tell it is a personal song for her.....AMAZINGLY SUNG !!! I met Maysa 11 years ago via her website and concerts and SHE always takes time to visit with me at concerts....meet her once and she remembers you for life. She is AMAZING inside and out !

  • @Seashelldiver I'm jealous because I wish I could meet Maysa Leak. I think her voice is golden, alluring, smokey, silky smooth and sexy. Her talents are one of a kind, she is a precious gift to music lovers like us. Maysa Leak is the only woman that my girlfriend will let me talk about openly with glowing remarks, terms of beauty and a desire to meet. She said it's because my chances were about as good as a snowball's chance in hell of meeting her, so no problem. But you gave me hope. LOL

  • 9 People fell into deep waters

    Music for the soul

  • I JUST LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • I love how Maysa sings her heart out with this song. That really touches me.

  • 9 dislikes?!?!?!? 9 ppl must can't swim!!!

  • @rotenburg333This song reaches deep down into my soul. I look forward to hearing her new group, thanks for the heads up. Did you say Stevie Wonder? That explains it. 'Nuff said.

  • Real classical music at its best!!!! This will never die!!! 8 people need to drown in some Deep Waters!

  • This song perfectly describes the emotions and feelings a person has when in love. This is exactly what it feels like to fall in love with someone. I'm drowning in deep waters.

  • this is music at its best...I adore her voice

  • Man, listened to this cut when I would be sad, then it blew up as a big steppers cut.

  • Talk about Quiet Storm! This song has such a wonderfully hauting melody, particularly in the last part.

  • I'm from Philly and now living in the DC area, I miss the quiet storm too! hmmmm yeah.

  • When I was 7 this song was the jam Incognito was underrated in the US I wish they were more recognize for their work.

  • o Yea JerS is in here ! Wish I had a Time Machine LOL @luvinlamarr

In them days I was nothing without the Sony Walkman Casette tapes. I'd listen to this and watch evenings go down in Philly on the WaterFront

  • this is my favorite song by Incognito. This song is nice and smooth, I can play it over and over again. Relax song!

  • whithout vocals it would be way better

  • @Affael Yeah the vocals are fine ! , but without them would be better , just because of the instrumental groove

  • what happened to all the smooth jazz stations.heard this on smooth jazz in DETROIT, after they canceled WJZZ.that was in early 90's. love MAYSA and INCOGNITO.esp.deep waters an friend of mine

  • @avistan222 I agree, detroit had some great jazz radio stations around 1980. one by one they have left to become identical pop / classic rock stations that play the same playlist over and over... now they want you to pay for radio that has any diversity. Detroit radio was once great ! I can't tell you how much I miss the electrifying mojo.

  • i heard this song in a club here in Memphis, Tenn...I was around 24 years old and love it!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for posting it.

  • Just saw Maysa sing this song live last week and she killed it!!!!!!

  • W0w this reminds my of 1o5.3 WDAS in Philadelphia [ not heard in HD haha ]

  • @luvinlamarr I'm a Philly girl so count me in too - this is the essence of Tony Brown & the Quiet Storm

  • @Damali5610

I'm from Philly too (by way of South Carolina) and this song is hot. It definitely sounds like the Quiet Storm.

  • elevation!!! this is one of the songs that I learned the joy of music (instruments and vocals).

  • quality music

  • "I'm drown'n in deep water" A steppers song, a love song, and an all around classic

  • @lee1shawn whats a steppers?

  • @blueice61023 In Chicago, there is a style of couple's dance called Steppin'. They have been steppin' in Chicago for decades and this song is a favorite of steppers in Chicago. Just put in steppin' in the search and you will find countless videos showing this style of dance including contests. Steppin has also taken off in other major cities as well.

  • Seriously, Which 6 people disliked this tune!! pah!

  • I had this cd when it first dropped. And I still play it til this day. Way ahead of its time

  • Comment removed

  • which album is this on? who is the vocalist?

  • @blueice61023 The Best of Incognito. Maysa is the vocalist. If you never heard her you are in for a real TREAT!!! Search for her other tunes.

  • I remember crying to these tunes. Damm memoires. Mark Skinner comes to mind he introduced me to them!

  • I absolutely love real music and I appreciate it when real music gets posted on You Tube

  • I love this song!!!

  • Let's see, I discovered this song around 1994 or so from public radio in Atlanta...I bought it and annoyingly played it over and over, been in love ever since. LOL

  • @Chasson0318 o i hear that i grew up on this music and till this very day i still jam to it.

  • @Chasson0318 2nd that!

  • @Chasson0318 let me ask u this are u into more of 90's smooth jazz song then today?

  • @208504 "Smooth Jazz of the 70s, 80s and 90s is way better than what they consider "Smooth Jazz" of today. But then I guess it would be, since it's the foundation. Today's sound is completely diluted. This type of song is borderline neo-soul...which lends itself to the ushering in of THAT particular genre.

  • @208504 Well, today's smooth jazz is rather weak. this is the real deal AND original. Smooth jazz (I have misgivings about that title) needs a good feel, good vocal with meaningful, heartfelt lyrics.

  • COLD COLD TRACK MAKES ME THINK OF MY MOM BANGIN THIS CLEANIN THE HOUSE SATURDAY MORINGS LOL love u mommy!!!!!

  • When i listeng to this song, i just want to spend all my money on a Casino while i smoke some Cuban cigarrettes. mmmmmmmmmm

  • Wow, this is SO taking me back to the 1990s...especially the summertimes during the 90s. I was a child, but my two of my big sisters each had this album, so I heard a plenty of DEEP WATERS!!! LOL

  • ♪♪♪ simply amazing!

  • this song has so many layers of emotion....can't imagine anyone but Maysa signing it. (well..maybe Anita B)

  • Love this song

  • i can relate to this song on so many levels. "tell me who was foolin" lol, glad i can laugh at it now.

  • I always loved this song!

  • who was the cute vocalist on 'still a friend.. . ' ... she might have been supporting guitarist .. MTV early days music vid (right before MJJ redefined music videos) ?

  • @Realness97 You mean Maysa?

  • @Catsincages ...all I can confirm is that she looked a bit 'finer' ie. not so 'round' in the face, it could have been her but she wasn't the female singer on the track, she jus' played an accoustic guitar rested on her thigh while one others vocalized. Believe it or not, I still have the original VHS recording in passable viewing quality.. except for the fact it's on tape!!!

  • 93.7 wblk buffalo, new york babyyyyyyyyyy.

  • This is signature Incognito featuring the fabulous voice of Maysa!

  • im only 14 and love all old songz lol

  • I just saw Maysa perform for the first time at the African World festival in Milwaukee this past Sunday---WOW----she performed this tune and turned the place out!!!!! So, so mellow!!!! She introduced it by saying how her heart was run over by this cat overseas and she was inspired to record it.....

  • LOL @ DoubleA3009

  • I love this song. Never get tired of Maysa singing it. I believe there is a video to this song

  • Warm cool grooves..embrace me tonight..in my room...candles,flowers,champagne and you...i love you Fè.
