Ed Reed is an anomaly. He has hands like Jerry Rice an "extra gear" like Deion Sanders has Jack Tatum instincts and hits like Rod Woodson and studies his opponents like Peyton Manning. I LOVE Ronnie Lott and the 49ers but opposing qbs weren't afraid to throw at Lott but receivers were afraid to catch due to his intimidating hits. Ronnies hits would get into a recievers head but Ed is a gamechanger as such that he's in the qbs and the offensive coordinators head.

Reed was better, but if Taylor was still alive today he'd be giving Reed a run for his money. Taylor had great athletic ability and hit like a linebacker, but his coverage was suspect. He had a lot of heart and was still very young so imo in time he would have been the best safety in NFL. Reed is a game changer, he's an explosive safety who can dominate any offense.
