  • absolutely fantastic!!!!!!

  • holy shit my brain has blowed into pieces. best cover video on youtube.

  • greatly played!! He has some serious guitar skillz

  • yeah mike knows his stuff, he played it on stage hundreds of times, I just wonder what he wanted to do at 3:05 lol

  • My Jaws wide open.

  • HOLY SHIT POOP!!!!!!!! This is exactly what this piece is all about, HELL I'm hearing the whole of One Size Fits All right here.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • this was incredible!!!

  • gotta love how he phoned in ruth's solo.

  • Something happened.

  • HOLY CRAP!!

  • OOOOOoooh. That is a nasty solo.

  • I love it!!

  • who is the tool wearing headphones?

  • this is incredible !!!

  • Keneally is an amazing talent.

Nice patch job on the video. :)

  • Fantastic playing of course. They needed a vocalist though.

  • Thank you, recordists and poster. Very cool.

  • The apparent change in video stock is deceptive. There is actually no edit here. It's just that by playing "Inca Roads" on two acoustic instruments that well for that long, reality itself started collapsing around them and it suddenly tears right at 7:38, dimming and warping light to make it appear as though they were being filmed at a side angle, wearing different clothes, and even in a different venue.

Newton theorized it was possible; it took Keneally and Beller to prove it.

  • Nice

  • Love it.

  • That.

    That is fucking awesome !!

  • wow..

  • Where's the complete original video. The segue into the other video source is just senseless.

  • f@#k ya!!!

  • Great cover! Very well done!

  • 4:57 - 6:27

    Lord

  • Oh god. For the first few seconds of the solo there I thought he had FZ's OSFA/stage2 solo memorised. Still though, this is almost certainly my favourite inca roads version now.

  • This video never gets old. What masterful musicians. MK just freaking ROCKS!

  • What a killer version of this classic!!

Thank you for sharing this video!

  • Look at all those heads dangle with the pulse. Someone in the audience having a good experience and laughing @ 5:19

  • muito bom!

  • lol, jazz discharge party hats...

  • :^{> lives through people like Keneally... It's more than the note.. the true passion and feel is what made it something amazing.. I feel that's lost with a lot of stuff like ZPZ...

  • what kind of guitar is that? sounds really clean!

  • Mike & Bryan's acoustic duet actually may be my favorite rendition of "Inca Roads", pared down to its core (even though Keneally & Beller are doing *tons* on only two instruments) and baring its soul.

  • This is superb. Well done Gents.

  • Excellent! R.I.P. :>)

  • Wow!!! This an especially amazing feat, considering they're both on acoustics and they seem to be incorporating a few parts from the other instrumentations on the original. These guys aren't missing ANYTHING!!! It's also so cool to see former members like Kenneally keeping the music alive for future generations.

  • @TheArbiter74 MK & BB truly do an amazing job at figuring what parts are essential to the song and then finding ways of pulling them off - especially Bryan, who's doing double-stops, chords, and even playing percussion on the *body* of his bass. As I said before, their acoustic version may be my favorite rendition of "Inca Roads".

  • The guy with the cap is wering headphones and takes em off 6.54? The girl at the front with the pigtails was an extra on The Waltons? The bouncer guy on the right just seems perplexed? Enjoyable cover tho!

  • Amazing...

  • never thought you could possibly come near to emulating inca roads on a guitar and bass.. bloody incredible

  • Great!!! Thanks for posting this . I can hear certain things acoustically that I couldn't pick up of the album.

  • 1:59 yes

  • I love the "Jazz discharge Party Hats" interludes.

    This has no commercial potential.

    No great music does.

  • @octofish i dont think the commercial value is the idea here

  • @octofish Bollocks!!

  • The crux of the biscuit is that my jaw is on the floor. Wow.

  • the string work i rather amazing.....but the vocals are a little If-y

  • @jippedo Can't blame him, few singers have such a crazy range and he's playing guitar at the same time but I agree

  • Great googly-moogly!!

  • Gosh. Swallowed my false teeth....

  • " !!! " (i'm speechless)

  • This takes balls and chops, not sure in which order. BRAVO!

  • Superb!

  • Is the bass player on steve vai´s band?

  • yeap :D

  • "MADE for acoustic instruments !" haha insane

  • That is by far one of the coolest things I have ever heard. I, too, am in heaven.

  • Damn, listen to minor detail at 5:21!

    "I am in heaven!"

  • the volume swell Mike does at 1:31 is amazing. Incredible musicianship throughout this cover, I didn't think it would be possible

  • I love the way they swing it through the whole tune.. and even though their scratchy mike gets all the important notes.. the acoustic bass is rockin...

  • thanx namenotanumber,....you said EXACTLY what bI wanted to say

  • ugh..... don't sing, you sound like all those other hack jam bands who want to be the mothers of invention (phish).

    other wise it is awesome.

    killer solo around 2:22.

  • Keneally isn't quite a jamband, and obviously isn't trying to recreate FZ's band, because he WAS IN ZAPPA'S BAND, unlike Trey Anastasio, and because it's an ACOUSTIC Inca Roads.

  • Who but Keneally would even think of an acoustic version Inca Roads (with nods to Jazz Discharge Party Hats), much less pull it off?? Excellent job by both musicians. Balls indeed. Also, a superb edit towards the end to a different concert.

  • Vi organizzo un concerto in qualche locale dalle mie parti?

  • So amazing how they manage to pull the essence, the important notes out of the tune and make it work with such limited instrumentation. These guys REALLY know Inca Roads!

  • Oh this is just beautiful.

  • 1:58 - 2:14 .... playoon

  • Can you imagine the pair of balls it takes to play Inca Roads with only guitar and bass even for Beller and Keneally! You guys ROCK!!

Yeah dropping to D midsong...what the fuck is he thinking!! Don't try that at home, you could hurt yourself

  • @FrankZappy

    Inca roads cover?

thats almost as rare as a Yes coverband

  • @FrankZappy Although i cant imagine people that hadn't heard inca roads before were too fussed about hearing it again after this performance. Not that it was bad or anything but, maybe too bold?

  • lol jazz discharge party hats

  • Damn, that part in the solo when he takes the lower E string back to D blows my mind everytime I see and hear it!

  • o man ! this is great!!!

  • 19 213 views.... I am 19 000 of em!!!

  • this is SO fuckin' kickass!!! -excuse my language...best zappa cover on youtube

  • Agreed ... Mike is a fantastic player! First time I've seen Brian Beller ... awsome too!

  • Love it so much man. Watched 246 times so far

    By Me

  • my god what an awesome cover

  • superb

  • i love keneally and zappa...

this song is awesome, and this cover is awesome... how he managed to cover this song "dry" and acoustic, i will never know, but he pulled it off

  • Nice try

  • this is great!!... great bassist

  • Woah, A few liberties taken with the song, but I suspect frank would have aproved.

  • This is a great cover. Wish I knew how to play this tune. One of Zappa's best.

  • Thats brilliant. An awesome version of a terrific song. If I could play it as good as this, I'd be happy.

  • that bassist is killer!!

he keeps up well with the wacko haha

  • Vocals a bit shaky, but pretty cool otherwise....

  • Hell yeah! Nice work.

  • The Emperor wears no clothes.

  • Better for you he doesn't right?

  • tbh the singing is spot on, if you don't know the original then uhm...bummer?

  • how can you say that?? George Duke vs Keneally???? those vocals are anything but spot on.

  • the vocals are just about dead on....

  • we must be listening to different versions then cause those vocals never would have been allowed in zappas band. that sucked

  • OK, well... this ISN'T ZAPPA'S BAND! Of course his falsetto isn't as smooth as Duke's- however, the notes are in in tune for the most part. Can't we all just enjoy what we have here?

  • "Can't we all just enjoy what we have here?"

Not on YouTube! Someone always has to find something to bellyache about.

  • All those people who this criticize performance, should try it themselves.

  • Great Song Dudee

  • pretty damn good!

  • "This is a hard one to play"........The bassplayer is the star ; excellent. Keneally´s playing is sloppy compared to what I´ve heard him do before. His singing is as bad as ever.

  • Indeed...terrible vocals, but impressive performs all the same.

  • I don't understand your critic. This is a great acoustic performance for guitar and bass.

  • I think he did a damn fine job. Also I am pretty sure that isn't even his guitar.

  • also badass

  • :)..........

  • oh my god. that's ,insane...

  • Wow. Very nice, thanks! RIP FZ.

  • That was absolutely incredible! Blew me away! Especially when you tuned down your low E string one tone lower in the middle of the solo, that was awesome :D

    Great musicianship!

  • Good lordy lord--that is a tough composition in so many respects. He's nailing it! Wow.

  • Best cover i've ever seen on youtube

  • What's with the edit at the end switching to a different performance?

  • Wow. fuckin great!!! Frank would have dug this. Inca Roads at a "be-in".

  • I could never imagine this song done acoustically, but... here it is. Very well done!

  • i got zappa on the brain.

  • Yiiiehaaaaaaa!

  • Timeless FZ song, nice cover!

  • this is awesome, the best inca roads cover i've heard on youtube.

  • amaaaaaaazing

  • Way to go on this one! Frank WOULD love it! ; )

  • What's a good keneally album to start with, if one is coming from a zappa background?

  • 'boil that dust spec' is great

  • OH my god ! WOW ! simply amazing ! Kudos for the courage, the creativity, the originality !

Zappa lives on forever with the best musicians on the planet.

  • WHAT THE FUCK! absurd

  • FAST AND BULBOUS!

  • pretty ballsy attempt...never saw anyone try that before

  • how come? 10.000 viewers in one year. an exclusive club.

  • Did you guys know that these two great musicians play for the TV show (and band) metalocalypse too? Love this song on acoustic, when it went away a year ago or so, I was worried. Thanks for putting it back up!

  • far freakin out.

    thanks for the vid.

  • Wow!!! Zappa would love that.

  • Holy Shit ! I think Frank himself would say this is great !

  • wow, a musical video on youtube with no jackoffs arguing about whos better than who...great video, another underated duo

  • So musical. Yum!

  • great cover. i think the best version of this song is the really flutey one on YCDTOSA vol 2

  • I wonder how many would attempt to cover this masterpiece!Brillient really.

  • lol look at that dude with headphones

  • I think he is taping the performance.

  • great great bravo ! not easy to sing this song and also play it..

  • I saw Mike at either Avery Fisher hall or Alice Tully Hall a few years back with Universe...it was GREAT!!!

  • incredible.... learning this song on guitar is insanely hard at half speed, much less at the preformed speed. Its funny how he Sings out the sextuplet part, I'm convinced thats impossible to play on the guitar.

  • Did you see Dweezil Zappa's tutorial here on You Tube about playing this?

If not...I suggest you check it out:

Dweezil Zappa - Thème de "Inca Roads"

  • I like Mike Keneally because he is a Zappa dictionary.

  • yao!

  • Absolutely brilliant

  • Nice!

  • 1.30sec is very cool.

  • Muito Bom. Fantástico

    Very Good. Awesome

  • Beautiful. An absolute joy to watch, listen to and sing along with!

  • I loved the little snippet of "The Jazz Discharge Party Hats" in there, that was classic.
