If going prone really works for you, then that's fine by me. All I can say is that when you go prone, the only thing that the enemy CAN hit is your head, so if they hit you, you're pretty much f***ed. Plus you can hardly move if you are prone and therefore cannot react quickly if someone tries to stab you from behind. If you decide to go prone, make sure you have 1-2 friendlies watching your back. By the way, this person doesn't suck, he just needs to learn how to play games like this.

I'm sorry this review is awful. This game came out in '03. You're comparing it to CoD: 4...really? And the German Assault Rifle for Americans? You were playing the spy...which means that you disguise yourself as Germans. So, it wouldn't exactly be good for a spy to go undercover with American weapons.

i think old 80's camaros, mustangs, and corvettes are way better than any car today. :-) Loved the original body shape, and those huge V8's, 455 break horse power really is better

They released the multiplayer free out of the kindness of their hearts, so don't complain. It was revolutionary for its day and many of the things you now consider conventions of gaming were invented there.
No, kindness of their hearts means it would have been practically abandoneware, but they decided that a lot of people would enjoy it so they let them have it. It was the #1 online shooter in its heyday.
And they honestly had no need at all to make more maps or weps or anything because the modding community was INCREDIBLY active.
If you never went on any modded servers I would suggest you try one out. :) There are a ton of sweet maps and weps. (like a lightsaber dagger)
i reviewed WOLFENSTEIN ENEMY TERRITORY, not its mods. and just leaving this game to be "completed" by the modding community institues laziness in my book.
Wolf ET was just the multiplayer portion of Return to Castle Wolfenstieng, not a standalone multiplayer game. It is VERY complete. They even added greatly to the RtCW multiplayer before they released it. The devs didn't leave it to be "completed" by modders.
A good game doesn't need a ton of maps to be complete. Look at BF Heroes for example. ;D
And it's a travesty to call ID software lazy. Listen to some of Carmack's keynotes from past Quakecon's and you will realize just how non-lazy ID is.

BUT, those are custom maps. i am reviewing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory-not its mods, custom stuff, ect. ill give u a free game vs free game comparison. americas army vs wolfenstein. AA has WAAYY more content. they are both free, but AA is much better, granted AA is newer, they update it every few months. id is lazy and wont even do that.

Combat Arms is not similar to Call of Duty in any way, shape or form. Combat Arms lacks everything Call of Duty has: strategy, skill, realism... The Quake 3 engine isn't embarrassing. It's a classic engine to play games on. You can't appreciate it because you obviously haven't played FPSes as early as I have. I started playing with my dad since I was five, so I am very familiar with Quake and Unreal. Great games, they are.

I've played Brothers in Arms. It's got the same gameplay as Call of Duty: World at War except it doesn't have a crosshair or that much of a HUD at all what-so-ever and you can control a squad of troops. Whup-dee-do. And Call of Duty isn't just "run and gun". It's very tactical and strategical, in the same way Counterstrike is tactical and strategical, unless you think Counterstrike isn't tactical and strategical, or realistic, for that matter.

The best evidence that this game rocked is that the gameplay was used again for Quake wars : Enemy territory. In this game, the graphics are average, everything is average, except the GAMEPLAY that rocks everything. The level of entertainment when you play is sooo high! But of course you have to make the effort to know the maps, the teamplay - in one word you have to play the game more than one hour. Like civilization or whatever game.

Thats why I love ET because it is not meant for kids under 16.
This game is ARCADE shooter once you will learn what that means you will know why its like that.
Compering this to Call of Duty is like comparing Quake to counter strike.
Graphics are good because it is a old game and it runs on Q3 engine.
Sounds are cool combat arms on the other have terrible sounds even the streak sounds are cheesy and direct copy from UT.

No, kindness of their hearts means it would have been practically abandoneware, but they decided that a lot of people would enjoy it so they let them have it. It was the #1 online shooter in its heyday.
And they honestly had no need at all to make more maps or weps or anything because the modding community was INCREDIBLY active.
If you never went on any modded servers I would suggest you try one out. :) There are a ton of sweet maps and weps. (like a lightsaber dagger)

Wolf ET was just the multiplayer portion of Return to Castle Wolfenstieng, not a standalone multiplayer game. It is VERY complete. They even added greatly to the RtCW multiplayer before they released it. The devs didn't leave it to be "completed" by modders.
A good game doesn't need a ton of maps to be complete. Look at BF Heroes for example. ;D
And it's a travesty to call ID software lazy. Listen to some of Carmack's keynotes from past Quakecon's and you will realize just how non-lazy ID is.

alot of people say there are more than 6 mpas-true. BUT, those are custom maps. i am reviewing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory-not its mods, custom stuff, ect. ill give u a free game vs free game comparison. americas army vs wolfenstein. AA has WAAYY more content. they are both free, but AA is much better, granted AA is newer, they update it every few months. id is lazy and wont even do that.

Combat Arms is not similar to Call of Duty in any way, shape or form. Combat Arms lacks everything Call of Duty has: strategy, skill, realism... The Quake 3 engine isn't embarrassing. It's a classic engine to play games on. You can't appreciate it because you obviously haven't played FPSes as early as I have. I started playing with my dad since I was five, so I am very familiar with Quake and Unreal. Great games, they are.

Quake 3 runs on the Quake 3 engine. UT runs on the Unreal engine.
Combat Arms doesn't have the same presentation as Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty 4 is about modern day conflicts between real factions. Call of Duty 4 is ultra realistic. You ever play hardcore mode? This game does have strategy. You obviously suck at it if you've never used your brain while playing it.

I've played Brothers in Arms. It's got the same gameplay as Call of Duty: World at War except it doesn't have a crosshair or that much of a HUD at all what-so-ever and you can control a squad of troops. Whup-dee-do. And Call of Duty isn't just "run and gun". It's very tactical and strategical, in the same way Counterstrike is tactical and strategical, unless you think Counterstrike isn't tactical and strategical, or realistic, for that matter.

The best evidence that this game rocked is that the gameplay was used again for Quake wars : Enemy territory. In this game, the graphics are average, everything is average, except the GAMEPLAY that rocks everything. The level of entertainment when you play is sooo high! But of course you have to make the effort to know the maps, the teamplay - in one word you have to play the game more than one hour. Like civilization or whatever game.
