Do you have to buy a special made usb cord? or is it just a double jack cord like for an ipod or phone? Also does this amp have any programmable rythym or drum tracks? I am gonna buy a new amp very very soon. Its either gonna be a VYPYR 75 or a fender mustang 3. Your comments are welcome and I need some input. Both amps are in the same price range but I like the included software & pedal that comes with mustang. The pedal that you have to buy for the vypyr is an extra $200. INPUT PLEASE
@dan95brantner depends what you mean with 'gig'. i'd say as a big ass amp as it is you could turn it up loud in a live situation and play perfectly. and nice band selection bro :)
@eramir22 You should definatly get the Peavey, i've heard from a lot of people that it has a much better sound... The Line 6 sounds like a jar of bees. I own a thirty watt Peavey Vypyr and it is much lounder and better sounding than my friends Marshall 90 watt amp. Also the Vypyr has a lot more effects than the Line 6, but the Line 6 has a lot of custom built presets... GO WITH THE PEAVEY VYPYR!!!!!!
hey im in a band and i only have a shitty 30 watt drive amp, so i cant be heard in gigs, is this good for playing medium sized indoor venues? also, can you get a tone thats metal but has a bit of meat on it? something like dimebag darrells tone or judas priest?
@eramir228 You should get the Peavey Vypyr 120 120w. I have it and it is pretty f**ken' awesome! You can look at some of my videos and hear the sound quality ... even though I suck and haven't been playing very long. Sounds great with the USB out into Garageband.
To get a really good metal sound from this amp, right when u turn it on hold on preset number 4 till a blink cones out.makes the amp sound better distorted
@eramir228 Don't waste your money on a digital modeling amp. All you get is someone else's tone "programmed" with a mask on into your amp. Get a Peavey Valveking, the amp is about $800, and is seriously beast.
Bought this amp after a lot of deliberation. As far as modelling amps go, this one is great. My beef with Line 6 spider has always been the "digital" sound. Yah sure, tubes rule, we get it. But for those of us who don't have a money tree growing in our backyard... It's very versatile, affordable, and most of all FUN.
@eramir228 Vyper. Mainly because the metal sound on Line 6's sound very bland and weak. That amp is really great for a beginner looking for a whole variety of tones for learning. The Vyper has a thick distortion that is very meaty. The Eq on the Vyper feels like an "EQ" The controls on the line 6 seem childish and robotic. I would strongly recommend the Vyper. I have nothing against line 6 at all. Rock on!
Guys i really need some help! i'm mostly playing metal . I'm looking for an amp thats full of distortion and tone in a budget 200$-500$ max ! i was thinking of choosing between this one (peavey vypyr 75) and a Peavey Valveking 112....can anyone tell me which one is better or if i should get another amp ? (looking for a great tube distortion amp(Not modelling but i've seen this one is pretty good sounding)) PLease HELP! THX
@BMXshark well i got the bandit, it's got way more distortion than the valveking, but its transtube, doesn't have effects except reverb but it's versatile with the tone
paul is DA MAN! i really dont care for all of the effects in this amp but the quality of the distortion, is it better than line 6 amps? i have a line 6 spider 3 15 and i hate the distortion cause it sounds terrible, this amp have good distortion?
can someone help me? i really love the distortion i get from a boss mt-2 pedal, can this amp get that type of sound? i play avenged sevenfold type of music and mainly use distortion and clean. can you also gig with this amp? is it loud enough to be louder than drums?
@zqmbfg are a fair bit more expensive. for most people's purposes however a modeling amps tone is good enough, and allows for a variety of sounds you normally couldn't achieve without having 1000's of dollars worth of amps and pedals. usually worth the money unless your looking for a very specific sound.
@wrestling45 it actually not a tube amp it's solid state but they call it a transtube amp, whatever that means. Peavey does make a tube 60 and a tube 120.
@hardystyles None. Learn standard tuning and good bands. xD hahah just kidding, I'd say go 75, transistor amps are better for heavy and lots of destruction, for warmer tones, then go tube :)
If your gonna choose between this or the Bandit 112, choose this by far because it's a tube amp and has a bunch of different amp models which sound better than the Bandit haha.
My friend has this Amp and it's been stuck in my bedroom for the past 3 months and I haven't touched it once xD I think I'll actually play with it now ;D.
Dont forget Roland....all 3 brands are pretty nice. Just go to a big guitar store nearby and play them all for a few hours, you'll find the one you like best

@koreaboy2442 if you want an amp that 's simple but with a great sound get the bandit 112, but if you want a lot of differents great sounds get the vypyr. I have the vypyr 30 and it rock!
@smellyDEADMEAT you propbly already have it by now but ill tell you anyway it dosent have all those settings but it is still a good amp ill recomend it to begginers and pros

@Dicarvaj it is very difficult to buy a good amp. Buy a amp that sounds good for you, because other people has other taste in sound. Only you know what sound you will have;) sorry about my English! i hope it helps
I have this amp and I Barely found out it has 4 different speaker settings. When u turn it on hold 1 of the preset buttons for brighter darker tones etc the fourth one sounds really good distorted really nice touch
I am afraid of buying peavey vypyr because it has lots of issues until now even with the latest firmware installed. I don't want to waste my money just for nothing.
I am wondering whether, through the usb, you can record an effected channel PLUS a dry channel (for re-amping) at the same time with the Vypyr? Sometimes I like to change my sounds after recording them.
i'm just looking for an amp with quality tone for under 300. I found this on musicians friend. I get the feeling that since it has 75 Watts it would be lacking on quality of tone. I could be wrong. Any thoughts? I don't really need any of the effects because i have a good effects pedal.
@blacksabbathgnr098 well i bought this like a month ago and in my opinion it has a really awesome tone especially on low volumes go check it out in your local music store
this amp cost me 780 at music force butt i dident get the foot pedal with it god damn it hahaha i just hook a zoom fx pedal to get some cranking distortion out of it..not bad for the price if you ask me
i dont know why but my vypyr even when i put up the volume and overdrive it always sounds crunchy. i cant get a heavy tone out of it if someone knows how to get a heavier tone please tell me

@blacksabbathgnr098 well i bought this like a month ago and in my opinion it has a really awesome tone especially on low volumes go check it out in your local music store

this amp cost me 780 at music force butt i dident get the foot pedal with it god damn it hahaha i just hook a zoom fx pedal to get some cranking distortion out of it..not bad for the price if you ask me

can anyone tell me that if an amp has more watt, does it make it a better amp? for example choosing between peavey vypyr 75 or peavey vypyr 100.
anthony197666 1 year ago
@anthony197666
The only difference is that the 100 watt is a 2x12 amp, meaning it has 2 speakers. Having an extra speaker will make a bit of difference.
