High-quality medical care is certainly obtainable in India. I volunteered under many physicians in Chennai who I would trust my life with. They were well-trained professionals who had studied in U.K. and returned home to do some good. There are certainly many problems facing health-care in general in India.

It's true health care in India is less expensive but........ There's much I could tell you fellow Americans about India but I don't feel like all the negative reprisals I would get from Indian's. They are very proud people,as they should be and so are Americans. Research it for yourself or ask me any specific question and I'll answer as best I can. You will always get the Indian side of the answer also. Indians are very decent/kind people of whom I never found one I didn't like or not care 4 me.

You can get a bypass surgery done in India for Rs. 500k, thats about $10k, its one of the few viable options for some un-insurable Americans. You can get a root canal or any dental work done for less than $500. The work is done in world class facilities by world class professionals. Its a question of scale, $1000 in India can buy more than $1000 in India. It doesnt make the Indian medical scene inferior. In fact worse screwups happen in the US.

Excellent health-care is certainly available in the U.S. if the patient is able to access it.

And please, I am an American myself, I didn't mean to be offensive, but I'm in high school and all the teachers always talk about how poor countries are around the world. Ameritards, in general, are one of the most undisciplined when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. I see so many people every day who are basically immobile, the sole reason appears to be they are FATBUCKETS. Also the amount of people in this country who abuse drugs/alcohol/food, has to be one of the highest in the world. Maybe the government should encourage insurance companies to give BIG discounts to their insured clients, for meeting certain health markers (weight, bp, nonsmoker,etc).
