I think the reason the UK are not successful in Eurovision anymore is not because the acts are outright bad, but because the whole event has become formulaic and because the UK are progenitors of so much that makes up Eurovision today the other countries aren't convinced of their genuineness, thus not voting for them.

Another view from Finland: There's nothing wrong with this piece of music and I really like the chorus and the singer but it seems that the UK doesn't have any friends in Europe anymore.
