The bad news is apart of the Gospel message but so is the good news (Christ). Christ's perfect life death and resurrection is almost always missing from open air preachers. They weigh heavy on sin, hell & repentance. "Jesus' blood saves" is about all you will hear before they jump right back to "REPENT!" Lets not forget what motivates repentance... CHRIST.
