Sorry. The Color Out of Space. Both The Blob and the Stephen King snippet of Creepshow where he's turned into vegetation should have listed the story as inspiration at least.
I didn't say that I didn't like his works - they are just not as fantastic as they are made out to be. The Rats in the Walls, The Color from Space, even At the Mountains of Madness read like any sci-fi fiction palp from the era. The use of the first person format is also tedious at times. He's overrated - not horrible.
The concepts are interesting, but the craft leaves me a bit less than jazzed. The Carl Reiner Night Gallery skit was better than actually reading HPL.
You mean to tell me Azathoth took time out of his busy day blaspheming and bubbling at the Center of Ultimate Chaos to assist a handful of Satyr-looking beings that rule over a mere dimensional fragment of a forgotten planet? Yog-Sothoth, too? Without even being invoked? You're kidding me, right?
@TheJudoKevin Saying that something is overrated really doesn't mean anything except that you think your opinion has more weight than other peoples'. :)

@TheJudoKevin Can you be a little more constructive? Why do you think he's overrated? What don't you like in his works...

Brothers I just read that it was apublicity stunt. The film is not old at all. As far as I know at that time Lovecraft wasn't a star if that day.

Too bad it was made so long ago, with modern day equipment it would have been terrifying. Still very cool tho

@BujinCarl It wasn't actually made in 1924, but 2005-6. The "Peter Rhodes" backstory is fictional.

@samcwic Wow now i feel like an idiot.
