God do I love silent films. Excellent job there Hillkat. Love the music that accompanies the video but more important I'm in love with Louise Brookes. Can't get enuff of her short career.
How wonderfully surprising that this song was clocks..It sounded pretty damn familiar. In string quartet ..its much better..well for this anyway..I dont really know any of these other ladies..so im going to have to check out some of there pictures. :) Thanks for posting this..How errie...that that song came up on this vid..gave me the chills really.
i had the honor & great pleasure of meeting Lillian Gish in the mid to late seventies at one of those annual (hollywood) Forest Lawn rememberances of the death of Rudolph Valentino. She was in a wheelchair but, still quite beautiful and verrrry down to earth.
I find it hauntingly interesting that many of these actresses who enjoyed and accumulated alot of wealth and fame throughout their careers actually led very difficult and tragic lives after their careers. The lives of Clara Bow, Mary Pickford, and Louise Brooks all had tragic endings despite all the happiness that surrounded them in earlier days. I find it very curious
Great video, the music and the footage mesh together quite nicely. I have a suggestion, since you're pretty talented, you should make a vid celebrating the Silent leading men with men like Rudy, John Gilbert, Chaplin, Lloyd, Fairbanks, etc.
You made a great and unique video. They were all wonderful and amazing ladies but none of them will ever compare to the most beautiful and most talented one of all, Miss Theda Bara. Long live the Vamp!!!!
There's Theda Bara Blvd. in Fort Lee, N.J. That's where the movie business started. I think she was one of the first women to have a Master's degree in New York.
Beautifully done! OMG some of those photos of Clara Bow - god she was so beautiful. These women were ahead of their time! TY for putting this together.
Such a wonderful video...But how come no Gloria Swanson or Mae West? Not to knock at your videos but those were my faverites in the silent pictures. Just asking..:) Your videos are fabulous
