the game looks incredebly good. and its ff the story will be very good. but i still like ff 7 the most, so i think that i could dislike the gameplay. but i will buy it anyway.

once you make a move, a time bar begins to fill up till u can attk again...and in those few moments till u can attack again, you can prepare your next attack..........

Legend of Dragoon is a really well put together game for its time, also considering it wasn't even a square game. And I'd really love to see someone play through the game in 3 hours, mashing x constantly wouldn't even get u threw disc 1 in three hours.

I know this is meant to be flashy, but it just comes off as tacky and cheap, it looks as if this style was recycled from every action movie and every action game ever made. I miss the old school Final Fantasy, I don't want to play Star Wars Fantasy, Although, the backdrops reminded me of FF7, so maybe all is not lost.
FF8 was my favourite Final Fantasy, and if you want another great RPG, try Panzer Dragoon Saga (Azel) on the Sega Saturn. That was my first favourite RPG and is still one of my favourites!
While I too am one of the many haters of the recent change in FF games, I do understand Square's decision. They are mainly trying to pull in today's market of action-oriented gamers since we are moving into a new generation. I just hope they don't lose a large amount of old-school fans. They claim to be old-school, having a main character based off Cloud and intending to be better than FF7. However, this focus is so grand they are actually withdrawing alot of old-fans like me. That's your opinion. Obviously you are attracted to more action-oriented RPG's GrannyPantySnatcher. Still the whole alure of the classic combat system is somewhat lost here, that's what everyone is complaining about. BTW, Legend of Dragoon is NOT the greatest RPG. Too easy, I could just spam my ultimate attack on the enemy 24/7, and like FF6/7, the system is exploitable. Far from best, if there is such thing as a perfect RPG. They're all so similar yet different it's hard to really tell anymore.

You havent play the game. Its turn base just with more details (not just one slash end turn). Its multiples slash in a cool way to keep the game not boring. Its the same concept. It would be same to do one slash that does 100 dmg or multiple slash that makes 100 dmg and looks cool???? You dont know anything from the storyline so... If you mind that a FF game is futuristic well... dont buy it. Its a FF game so they will be FF elements with some futuristic elements but you dont know how it will.

I love the feel of versus 13 its so dark and gloomy. I hate star wars and anything futuristic looking like FF12 and FF13 or anything that takes place in outer space (movies or games).
However I love turn based gameplay Over action anyday. the ATB system is what made FF what it is today.
So, FF13 gameplay seems better, but Versus 13 environment and setting looks way better.

Ehrgeiz was a game created by Square Co. as was FFVII. Ehrgeiz was created AFTER FFVII. Square decided to add Cloud, Zack, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, and Yuffie to make the game appeal to Final Fantasy fans.
Also, Ehrgeiz is a fighting game, Madden is a Sports games, and Final Fantasy is an RPG (Role Playing Game). They are all created for a different purpose. RPGs are for the stories. Fighting games are for the Battles. Sports games are for the fun of sports. You can't compare them.

@bowenstrife Surprisingly yes I do, the 2 RPGs that I've taking a huge liking in are Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I'm still trying out more games now and completely changed from when I wrote that message.
I really hope that the in-game world won't become the battlefield (like in Final Fantasy XII (12) ) I personally like the classic ATB and CTB styles, but they need to spice it up slightly.
The controls also look complicated, but I think its one of those games where you progressively know how to do everything.
The attacks look great and are well designed but I hope the camera doesn't suck like in FF12. I also heard from NGW that you can't invert the X or Y camera angle for some odd reason.
i thought the same thing earlier today, but after I watched it again i said to myself :"hm, looks fun. the graphics are nice and you get to kick and punch things"
of course, I am a brand new ff gamer so I don't know much about this stuff.
the only FF game I know of that isn't some kind of turn based is Crisis Core: FFVII. Oh yeah, and FFVII: Dirge of Cerburus, but they're sidestory games, like Versus XIII will be, and that's an action RPG.
Yeah 360 is cheaper, but I got the RROD on mine 3 times in ONE MONTH. It's getting back from being repaired on Thursday, and I'm just takin it to gamestop and gettin my money out of it. Saving up for a PS3 this time for sure.

No it will not be like 7-8-9.You can tell it's Real time combat system from the menu.I appears to be an improved version of Crisis Core's combat style with multiple selections popping up in a Que window.BEST FF's 7-6-8-12-4-9 in that order.

this just might be one of the best FF's, we will see how it is when it comes out but right now looking at the battle system, its gonna be really good. im pretty sure the FF team has put all there effort into this one.
how you gonna say FF9 crushes all FF's. look at FF7 man, its the only FF that has a prequel and a squeal (2 squeals, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus) FF7 has the best story line that i have ever seen in any RPG and how can anyone forget when Aerith died. that its self was a big impact to players. i got bored with FF9 i like FF8 better but over all FF7 is my favourite FF and RPG game (still have the original FF7 in my closet =P and no im not selling it)
the battle system looks as if it will have a crisis core battle system element to it, and i liked that system, cant wait for this game and i wonder what the achievements or the trophy points are gonna be like.
Finally, an interesting combat system. We'll see how well it works out, when it comes to the states. Of course, 2000$ says a lot of people will hate it.
FF9 was far better then FF8. FF9 had far better gameplay then the broke, and overly complex FF8 Junction system. The art in FF8 was good, but very overrated FF9 was more creative. Don't even get me started on the plot of FF8. I would explain why FF9 is hundred times better, but I would spoil the plot for both games.
i love games that challenge me because especially games like this but i wonder wat kind of online content i will have and how much explorability there will be. i hope the game is long AS EVER SO I CAN PLAY FOR A GOOD WHILE U KNOW WAT I MEAN.. INSOMNIACS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the fighting in this game. You can fight more freely yet I still see those final fantasy elements. I think it will take awhile to get used to at first but once you get the hang of it you will be happy. It looks like its more then just a button masher.

I doubt the feeling you get (or we got) playing VII for example can be reproduced here- such is the games stature nowadays.
Additionally, creating that same sense of originality that struck us when we were young surely isn't feasable!
I love old FF so much, but really respect the newer directions of the series too. Here hoping it does more than flashy action

I love the feel of versus 13 its so dark and gloomy. I hate star wars and anything futuristic looking like FF12 and FF13 or anything that takes place in outer space (movies or games).
However I love turn based gameplay Over action anyday. the ATB system is what made FF what it is today.
So, FF13 gameplay seems better, but Versus 13 environment and setting looks way better.
Gameplay Versus Nice environment setting. Which Game will be better. Time will tell.

FF12 was pretty good just ppl didn't like the combat man I just wanna tell u ppl i have FF13 beta version see im jpn and im a game tester and it's wicked the gameplay is amazing lightning is a good character the fighting is a little hard but u have to get used to it tho but the combos in the fighting are exceptionaly amazing u can do any type of combo so yeah i finished this just yesterday and i have to return it now i want to buy my own copy when it comes out

Ehrgeiz was a game created by Square Co. as was FFVII. Ehrgeiz was created AFTER FFVII. Square decided to add Cloud, Zack, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, and Yuffie to make the game appeal to Final Fantasy fans.
Also, Ehrgeiz is a fighting game, Madden is a Sports games, and Final Fantasy is an RPG (Role Playing Game). They are all created for a different purpose. RPGs are for the stories. Fighting games are for the Battles. Sports games are for the fun of sports. You can't compare them.

I really hope that the in-game world won't become the battlefield (like in Final Fantasy XII (12) ) I personally like the classic ATB and CTB styles, but they need to spice it up slightly.
The controls also look complicated, but I think its one of those games where you progressively know how to do everything.
The attacks look great and are well designed but I hope the camera doesn't suck like in FF12. I also heard from NGW that you can't invert the X or Y camera angle for some odd reason.

the only FF game I know of that isn't some kind of turn based is Crisis Core: FFVII. Oh yeah, and FFVII: Dirge of Cerburus, but they're sidestory games, like Versus XIII will be, and that's an action RPG.

Yeah 360 is cheaper, but I got the RROD on mine 3 times in ONE MONTH. It's getting back from being repaired on Thursday, and I'm just takin it to gamestop and gettin my money out of it. Saving up for a PS3 this time for sure.

No it will not be like 7-8-9.You can tell it's Real time combat system from the menu.I appears to be an improved version of Crisis Core's combat style with multiple selections popping up in a Que window.BEST FF's 7-6-8-12-4-9 in that order.

how you gonna say FF9 crushes all FF's. look at FF7 man, its the only FF that has a prequel and a squeal (2 squeals, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus) FF7 has the best story line that i have ever seen in any RPG and how can anyone forget when Aerith died. that its self was a big impact to players. i got bored with FF9 i like FF8 better but over all FF7 is my favourite FF and RPG game (still have the original FF7 in my closet =P and no im not selling it)

FF9 was far better then FF8. FF9 had far better gameplay then the broke, and overly complex FF8 Junction system. The art in FF8 was good, but very overrated FF9 was more creative. Don't even get me started on the plot of FF8. I would explain why FF9 is hundred times better, but I would spoil the plot for both games.

I like the fighting in this game. You can fight more freely yet I still see those final fantasy elements. I think it will take awhile to get used to at first but once you get the hang of it you will be happy. It looks like its more then just a button masher.
