  • Now I'm crying of nostalgic happiness

  • This sounded much better in my memory of the game from the mid-1990s. I'd be tempted to dig up a computer from that time and attempt to record the music when it sounds as it was intended to, rather than emulated. But then again my memory may just be playing tricks on me. In any case this game has awesome music.

  • can any of you guys find me a place where i can download this game?

  • Old 8 bit music

  • I think the ships sounds are cuz u left the game idle so the game start showing a gameplay sample or something.

  • This sure brings memories, I had this game on my first computer :D

  • This game IS(!) so awesome, I LOVE it. It reminds me time, when I was child. :)

  • This was one of those games where you install it, not really knowing what kind of game it's going to be. You find yourself sitting there staring at the screen because the music is so captivating.

  • Man this game is so friggin hard....

  • i still have game empire and this was one of the feature games on it

  • wow gdreyband you sure have good taste in music and video games. Just a quick thank you for some of that great older Bemani stuff you uploaded.

  • Ha, thanks. I've been feeling guilty about not uploading anything lately, but hopefully I'll correct the situation soon.

  • why would you upload it with you pressing shit on the menu?

the first 40 secs or so was cool.

  • Sorry about that, I got it directly from the Blue Moon website, so what you hear is what's there. I didn't rip the music myself but in retrospect I should have.

  • ah fair enough

  • @gdreyband that's the track as you hear on the game itself....i mean, it plays on the intro, and there is a demo gameplay on the intro and those bumping sounds are the ship (which i find to fit the song really well 'o' almost seems like it was on purpose)

  • @zaelie What you're hearing is just a recording of the actual game, which after 40 seconds means you're hearing the audio of the gameplay demo the game shows if you're idle at the UI for too long. Lots of games used to have a gameplay/attractor loop like this, a remnant from the heyday of arcades.

  • @Tiogshi I know. as the uploader already said to me he got it off the dev's own website so it's lazy on their part and not so much the uploader's.

a while ago I did some reversing on this game and from memory the songs are just mod files compressed with an LZS variant common on the amiga. I don't know why the devs didn't post the music file itself rather than rip it from their own game.

  • pretty bad FM programming..

    funky noises..

    what's not to love ;]

  • Thanks a lot

  • played this in 1994 LOL good old times

  • One of my favourite games for the PC, you can the full version for free now!

  • I still play this so much! it's so much fun

  • You know, the music in this game uses adlib, and the sound effects are made by soundblaster, so if you're using dosbox to run the game, you could just disable the soundblaster in the config, and then you'd hear none of the bumps the ship makes as it jumps around, nor the whoosh in the beginning :)

Still, thanks for posting this, it's the first game music to be one of my favourites

  • Cool thanks for posting this I have the game still but the music doesn't play, anyone know if there is a midi of this tune floating about? Yes those ship noises are annoying, didn't remember it being that bad lol

  • As far as I know the developers only released the okta modules of all other songs.

  • kooooooool it is the oldest game and faverot I play it whene I was young in MS dos
