Back when a pile driver actually MEANT something. I'll never forget the Cena/Michaels Wrestlemania match when Shawn piledrove Cena on the steel steps 5 minutes into the match and the effect was literally that of a chop or a bodyslam. Shit, back in the day that would've put Cena out for 6 months!
One thing I've always respected about Nick Bockwinkel was that he never declined wrestling wise in his career. He stayed in shape all the time, and retired on top not on the decline.
@VolumedMusicMan Well said. And Have you seen the match he had in 1993 against Dory Funk jr, at WCW Slamboree ?? He was near 60 years old and he was still in good shape.
Zbyszko was one of my favorite heels!! Both he and Bockwinkle could sell the hell out of a match!! Classic, although I preferred Bockwinkle as heel more than a face.
