Must never watched PINKS all out. When his hands move it is a green light. If you wait for the hands to go down you got caught sleeping on the line... Kind of like at the drag strip, if you wait to see that green light come on you have waited to late. Perfect reaction time is what that was, nothing more or less.

i dont know if youve seen my videos but mine was brand new from ford in 04. my car stayed stock for 2 days. then in 06 it was built motor and whippled. then the 3.4 , then went back down to the smaller whipple and threw twin 76s on. 5 months after that got an automatic. i would think mines not stock at all. thanks for the post.

Ya but im laying down almost 400rwtq and 386hp, and I only have basic bolt ons on my G8 GT, and that's with the stock "Eco cam" (DoD) with a stock Ls2 cam we get 40 hp and 15 tq or something like an ls7 cam would be 60hp 25tq, and that's not even going after market, after market cams cam give easily over 120HP and 60tq and that's still N/A you throw on TT's or a SC and with minimal psi can throw 560-600 to the ground easily.

And I also don't think there is any better "bang for the buck" for horsepower than the 03-04 Cobra. They are crazy fast bone stock, never mind with an intake, exhaust, pulley & dyno tune. You'll be laying down 450 rwhp with just those mods alone. Decide to do a twin screw supercharger swap? You'll lay down 550-650 rwhp easily, depending on your set up. The G8 does have the almighty 6.0l V8 though, which as it sits in the G8 GT, is pretty much an LS3, with exception to the valve train.

@DanSVT03 this is true. i have a 04 cobra with just intake pulley exhaust and it put 455whp down. mods cost me 1700$ (with dyno tune)

I have owned both an 03 Cobra (sadly totaled thanks to deer) and now I drive a G8 GT. As far as performance, the Cobra is faster, and is easily turned into a total monster with under $2,000 worth of basic mods. But the G8 GT is a much more practical car. It has far more luxary & comfort, you can drive it year round, it's way better on fuel, and it still goes like hell! Both are outstanding. I miss my Terminator, but I'm so glad I got a G8 to replace it.

For one, he didn't jump. The hands don't have to be all the way down before you can go. They just have to move. Secondly, there are some very fast Eaton Cobras. Third, TT G8's run anywhere from 460whp to 720whp on the stock bottom end. So no, just because a G8 has twins does not make it faster than and Eaton Cobra.

Both cars look pretty even, too bad the pontiac jumped. The mustang is a hell of a bargain especially seeing that a thousand bucks with give well over a 100 hp over stock (pulley, tune, intake, xpipe). I'd hate to hear how much the G8 costs with the TT kit. My only complaint about those stangs are the damn shifter position is way to far forward.
