First flight and it landed only 4 feet onto thick grass (not that hard) and the freaking cheap landing skids broke off the front. Not to worry...i bent two large size paper clips and made new ones. A little tape, glue and paint job and they work better than ever. Company should have thought about metal instead of plastic for that. Be prepared to make many body patches.
@HorizonRCdotCom Thanks. I want to get a nice heli that I will enjoy. But I don't want to get out of my skill level and destroy it and get frusturated.
The first thing my CX3 did was spinning around, and flying out sideways to the left... And this was when I got it out of the box... It was very hard getting it to fly straight up and down...
Now, I broke on of the propels on the top, and I changed it. The problem now is that the heli is shaking before take off, and it fly straight left and bumps into the ground under take off... What is wrong, and how can I fix this? I only had it for two days...
@paulvolio way to bash the product without saying anything at all about why you dont like it. i highly doubt you've been flying for years and still had problems with an eflite product
it seemed to go backwards when it takes off that was do to the weight of the tailwheel and the added weight of the tail boom so i took it to the local hobby shop which was Hobby Works and the guy there did some adjusting to it idk what adjusting the guy
My complaint is that for AUD$295.00, one would have expected something much more reliable and robust. Is that unreasonable?
Not only do the PLASTIC adjustment screw heads shear off, the very thin plastic skids break if the helicopter lands with a bump and the paper-thin plastic body splits. The non-folding blades are also extremely brittle.
I can see no justification for the high cost.
I have had none of these problems with my 13 inch AUD31.00 Chinese helicopter.
Having paid AUD295.00 for my CX3, I tried adjusting the 3n1 screws because it wouldn't hover without spinning. The screws are brittle plastic and the heads sheared off when turned.
The CX3 is now useless after less than an hour of flying time. It spins uncontrollably and won't even lift off.
My other 33cm (13 inch) coaxial helicopter cost AUD31.00 on E-bay incl. postage from China to Australia and it flies perfectly. I could have bought 9 of those for less than I paid for the flimsy CX3.
Unfortunately it won't let me paste it here because of the URL's (YouTube issue) but I am going to send you the info to contact our Australian partners O'Reily Model Products. Please contact them and they should be able to help.
I flew my CX3 outside today. Winds were pretty calm initially. I'm surprised at the range and height this helicopter can reach! I had it over 100 feet, before the wind carried it away over some trees. I had to kill the power before the helicopter went too far. On recovery the only thing that needs to be replaced is the body and some blades. The trees help dampen the fall. It's a good helicopter with upgraded parts.
which is better for outdoor flight. the cx2 or three? I have experience with the mcx. I want something that can fly faster. What is the real difference between the cx2 and cx3 besides the body.
The gyro system is the major difference between these two helicopters beyond the body. The CX2 and CX3 will both be pretty similar outdoors honestly, no real advantage from one to the other. Although the gyro may make the CX3 feel more stable and locked in.
Im flying at the moment a Parkzone Corsair and i was looking for a heli to fly indoors when its to windy outside. Is the mcx so easy to fly you get no exsperience out of it???
No, you do get the basics from it. Understanding the navigation with nose-in hovers or tail-in hovers, understanding the basic flight characteristics and such as well. I understand where you're coming from though, worried that you'd get one and either get bored with it or outgrow it easily. I personally wouldn't worry about it, I still really like flying the mCX many months after its release.
They're both really good. If you want something bigger and that you can use running lights on then the CX3 is a great choice. If you're looking for something smaller that you can fly in a more confined area then the mCX is the way to go. You really can't go wrong with either one. Out of the box the mCX might be a tick easier to fly but it's a marginal difference.
I wouldn't recommend the mCX for flying outside unless it's dead calm. Even the CX2 can have issues outside. Both are really designed for indoor usage.
Yes it can. I just flew my CX3 w/ a FlyCamOne2 tonight in my front yard no problem.
I do notice I have a hard time getting forward velocity outdoors with or w/out the camera. It goes backwards better than forwards outdoors. I don't notice that indoors as much though.
I have a MCX that I adore, just ordered a CX3 and a Blade 400 (for later on), pick them up Friday 9am sharp! I love E flite stuff all of it planes also, so easy to work on.
i dont know whats so special, but the size alone is cool....i just bought this one, and i also got a mcx. i still have to hold the tail in position even wtih trim settings, but this isnt a problem for me since i fly collective pitch helis, and im used to that. ive set all my helis with trim and i still cant do hands off even with extreme trim settings..whoever has a mcx, should def get this one. but if u got a cx2 it might not be worth it.
I must be missing something. I don't see whats so special of having headlock. The MCX I have stays in the same direction and I can make it go up and down
anyone know the battery flight times for the cx3?? im really interested in this....i got my mcx as my indoor, but it has no ac adapter at all which causes me not to fly it very much.
cool i like it only if they got it out before xmas! it looks smaller though and when it turns it looks weird but i like the lights! i still like my cx2 body better though!5*
i have got this same tx and can i bind it with a different brand rx and a plane

bought one of these a few days ago and I hate it...
I have been flying for years too, I was going to buy a new blade cp but I figured this was a bnf and there were no bnf blades where I went.
I never liked coax helis but after being impressed with the tandem rescue I figured "what the heck"...

Not significantly. It should feel about the same as with any of the other CX-series bodies out there.

I believe you'd burn out the ESC/receiver unit. It's not rated up to that voltage, I'll tell you that much.

wrestlemaniac202 2 years ago
The original CX? If so then yes, I'd say the CX3 is a superior helicopter due to the heading-lock gyro and the Spektrum DSM radio system
