  • keep brewing you'll get it. Bye the way try something basic like a common lager. you'll be surprised how well it does, and will boost morel so you don't give up. good job and good review.

  • i did a light lager once, and that was one of my better brews. my best brew was an irish stout. still nothing is great. but i got to use brewers sugar instead of table sugar i learned, so that should help take away the tartness. but thanks for the encoutagment

  • @jjrudy41 i wouldnt ever use table sugar myself... but i can get dextrose for about the same price more or less...

  • @mageac yeah i think that was just one of my problems....

  • well done sir

  • thanks.

  • Hey bro, practice makes perfect... at least you get drunk while learning!!!

  • thanks. i think ill make anther beer sometime soon.

  • you might want to try to nail down a few simple beers like a pale ale or a bitter, maybe a stout before trying more exotic brews. when i started brewing i made a bunch of esb's and IPA's to get the kinks worked out of my technique. i'd rather drink a well brewed normal pale ale than a funky dubbel. keep on brewin.

  • yeah i got a lot to learn still. i have brewed about 4 beers, and my best one was the stout. the next one i brew will probably be a bock.

  • This has nothign to do with the beer, but it's very, very rare to find people who can honestly critisize themselves. A very good quality you have.

  • thanks. I try to be honest to the beer, regardless who its from and who says its good or not. Of course my opinions are exactly that, some one else could find this or any beer i review the best beer ever... when i get some time I will brew some more home beer, and review those. I think I got a amber boch i'm making next. if i ever get around to it.

  • Cidery? Not using table sugar by any chance are you? Table sugar can cause this. Use dried malt extract next time.

  • yes i am... thanks for the great tip. i will get it right away.

  • Go Steelers!!!

  • heck yeah. 6 burgh

  • if you want it clearer throw it in another carboy for another 7-10 days. if you want a thick er head, you'll need a little extra malt and priming sugar.

  • i like it cloudy, and unfiltered. but i would like a thicker head, so ill try that. thanks. i'm really new at making my own beer. so its nothing great yet, but there at least drinkable. i had a couple that went vinagery or cider like on me. however

  • most likely from sanitation issues. one step is my favorite, use lots of it on everything, and fill the bubbler w/it

  • Cool video. I liked seeing where you get your total score from. I never considered using ratebeer, but now I sort of wish I had. Was that a plastic bottle you used to bottle your home brew in? If so, in case didn't know, investing in glass bottles and a capper would be a good way to improve your home brew. Air can pass through plastic and ruin the beer. It already seems like your beer was good for a batch that's early on in your home-brewing career!

  • it was ok... nothing great. its drinkable, but i want to get my beer to the point where you like wow this is pretty good. yeah its plastic. i agree i want to bottle in glass as well. but to start until i got the process down. i wanted to use plastic, because i heard if you add to much sugar you could explode your bottles, and end up with a real mess. but thanks for the feed back. your grading is very similar to mine, so you could easily start doing so.

  • Sorry about Siena today dude, anyway, that's awesome that you brew your own. On average, how much do you take it costs to start homebrewing.

  • thats ok they did very good. it cost about 100 bucks american to get the basic for home brewing, but if you want everything know to man figure on a couple hundred. i have the basics, but i just started a year ago, and only have made about 5 batches. it takes anywhere from a month or longer to brew a beer, and you get about a case of beer out of one batch. each beer you brew also cost you about $40 for supplies. the best one i have made so far was an irish stout. it came out very much like ohar

  • Was this from the same batch that I had?

  • yeah it seem to get better with age, or this bottle was just better than the last.
