They are angels but there's a lot of strange eroticism in the images. I don't believe in angels - I wonder if we don't just attribute wings to people who's sight gives us some form of transport. Probably sexual.

are you sure its strictly sexual? times and views were quite a bit different during that period, i think the nudity represents something a bit more than eroticism, unlike today's modern art. just a thought, i don't have many answers myself.

thnx, i'm more biased towards the older art mostly because I'm not at all impressed by today's art, which lacks in alot of areas; curiosity of the unknown and mysterious is something we don't seem to be interested in these days.

I have difficulty to understand the female voice, she sounds at some point as saying "Lord (show) mercy", and maybe she is just having an accent...
