@Theonly447 I am sorry, but it is not. Carrots are good for your eyes though. The beta carotene is metabolised to vitamine a in your body which is needed in the eye, but it doesnt improve your eyesight or your night vision capabilities. :)

@Theonly447 I am sorry, but it is not. Carrots are good for your eyes though. The beta carotene is metabolised to vitamine a in your body which is needed in the eye, but it doesnt improve your eyesight or your night vision capabilities. :)

According to studies, elephants have not forgotten anything. The method used might be classic conditioning, multiple sensory based decision making based on memory, or something similar. And considering memory, you should not misunderstand the meaning of it. Through evolution, there has not been a need to remember everything, but there has been a need to not forget. Elephant memory is linked with emotions, and is highly linked with classic conditioning, it's not like a human memory!

Therefore their capacity to not forget is solely based on their emotional connections to the environment and their own body. When an elephant observes something, it remembers the meaning of it, not IT as a piece of information like humans do. Just like baby human, baby elephants remember events for their emotional connections. If a baby elephant gets into a traumatic situation of its first day it is able to perceive the world, it WILL remember it. It's hardwired to it's hypothalamus via amygdala, creating emotional memory. Understand what they mean by ''not forgetting'' here: Elephants don't have photographic memory, which I think YOU think they mean. When something happens to an elephant, it will always remember it, but it is not constantly on it's mind. An attack of a lion is always remembered through the circumstances in which it happened at. Read about ''classic conditioning'' and you might understand this phenomena. Elephant remembers that mud is cold, it remembers that shadow makes you colder, it remembers the exact person who killed his/her mother. It's actually very simple!
