music sure don't sound like this anymore....fuck im 19 and i feel like an old man because "back in my day" music was actually good as opposed to the commercial generic shit that comes out nowadays
You know that music is in trouble when the most popular 'alternative' bands of today are not even in the same LEAGUE as an early 90's band who never got the respect they deserved because they were lost in the massive tidal wave of awesomeness that was coming out of the Pacific NW.
My, how our standards have fallen since the days when bands like this were just 'one of the crowd'.
@PKTrekGirl Sooo agree and what a sad indictment that is of the current state of today's 'popular' music... I remember when even a lot of the 'commercial/Top 40' stuff back in the halcyon days of the late 80s-early 90s was at least half-way listenable. Today, I'd rather clean my bathroom/scrub my toilet than subject myself to listening to a 'Top 40 radio station'. But as I'm sure you know, there's still amazing indie/alt stuff out there - it's just NEVER gonna get airplay on commercial radio!
they were underground for a while came to the surface with Straight Freak Ticket... and then poof gone again i think there was a total of 5 albums BEFORE SFT... but yeah i agree they ROCKED!
Wow! These guys were SPECIAL. They should have been huge. Maybe if Sonic Youth asked them to tour... Who knows. Definitely one of the best "grunge" bands to come out of the PNW. Just great music. The american Oasis!!!!! Way ahead of their time.
I was talking more about their "sound". If you listen to some early Oasis stuff it sounds similar to what Love Battery was doing. Thats all. Oasis are ACE in my opinion. Great rock and roll band. Killer songs, attitude...
@messrocks89 yeah there are similarities with early oasis like the yelling, speaking out style that is deceptively unorganised. But its the same for screaming trees and other good "grunge" bands. I think its their own sound, quite different from the early britpop scene, and its better!
One of my most favorite bands to come out of the PNW. This is also one of my most favorite songs of LV. One of the most underrated great bands of the early 90's.
As music got worse Radiohead got better. So you are right in saying late 90s/early 00s are the best time for radiohead, but the general music scene had collapsed into teen pop goo and alternative rock had lost most of its edges and was being dominated by bland acts like Matchbox 20 and Creed.
Yeah I definitely agree with you, Radiohead got better in each album but now music is about being in the mainstream league, being rubbish, teen pop culture and fake alternative band, really depressing
Yes I have this on cd but does anyone know if this was ever issued on vinyl? I would pay dearly for an excellent copy of 'Straight freak ticket' on vinyl!!
oh can anyone help me out here, once during my browing of grunge vids on youtube i can across a video of a band called with a name like, the gods of, or the lords of, or something like that, does anyone know theyre full name?
This is the band from Seattle that for me has stood the test of time. I can listen to a Love Battery disc 200 times and still find something new on it.
goggle "applian freecorder" and download its a toolbar go to this vid and hit record on the toolbar and play on the vid, its a awesome program and when there is silence (like if u hit record and wait for a while to hit play or u record and forget it automatically doesn't record the silence.have fun
oh dude !! these guys are so great ! could you plllllllllllllllllllzzz tell me where ? cause I want to get to know alot more then just nirvana, pearl jam, AIC, melvins etc.
I love grunge, and I'm kinda on a mission to get all this somewhat rare music back into my collection after years of moving around and what not. Any help you could give me I'd greatly appreciate and could possibly return the favor depending on what music you like.
hey for real! this band rocks! even if they are not popular like other bands from seattle, I really love this band amazing sound!! I hope to see more videos of LB
Loved them then; love them now. One of my favorite sub pop bands. The screaming trees, Green River and Mudhoney are also fantastic.

This band kicks ass. Some how they were passed over during the early 90's grunge era. Someone missed it. Their last 2 albums are 10's.
