Takei didn't say the New Voyage set was cheesy, he said the original Enterprise set was slightly cheesy, and it had been duplicated perfectly.

for many years Startrek has been one of the top popular sci fi shows ever made thks to Gene Rodenbery lol.

Star Trek is the name of a science fiction TV series that was created in the late 1960s about a star ship called the U.S.S. Enterprise and its many voyages through space to visit new planets and so forth. There have been many spin off series since then but George here was a star in the original series as the pilot. It was fun and basically started this huge sci-fi cult before Star Wars ever came on the scene.

Cawley should be congratulated for his work by all fans and crew of the Star Trek Universe!

It was gracious of Takei to do that episode, but I think that it's unkind of him to say the sets of New Voyages are cheesy; they look better than many of the Original Series (not that I don't LOVE it most of all). Cawley has done an EXCELLENT job with his series. That man is to be commended for doing this so well and with such passion.
