I have to agree to all. But please don't forget the others. The first being Max Steiner. The rest Miklos Rozsa, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Frank Skinner, and Heinz Provost. There are others of course. My favorite is Ferde Grofe.
According to me," Marnie" is one of the greatest films realised by A.HITCHCOCK. The scenario, the characters, the quality of the actors.... make of it a masterpiece in the film art. The wonderful music written by B.HERRMANN, makes me quiver with pleasure each time I'm listening to it. Among all Hitchcock's movies, it's my favourite music. Thanks to soundtrackRLW for this moment of pleasure.
Herrmann was the only composer for this complex psychological film (Hitchcock once said all films are psychological if they are good.). The surging melody infuses the audience with excitement and romantic ardor. We expect the film to be as intriguing as this prelude, and indeed it is. What a tragedy that this was the final score of Herrmann's that Hitchcock used. And maybe this was the last Hitchcock masterpiece. Hmmmm.
One of the best composer of 20 centhury, no doubt!!

Stunning quality of music for a good if not great movie.

A solid film. Bernard Hermann's score was, as usual, superb.

This is one of my favorite pieces of his. He has a distinct style. No wonder Hitchcock used him for so many of his films.

Interesting to hear small flourishes and added touches to this great piece by the Prague orchestra.
