Totally agree with what's already been said, this sounds a lot cooler than most other 8 string slingers I've listened to. Curious dude.. your track sounds sick as hell too, is that live drums or do you program those?
You make that 8-string sound good! I looked at lots of 8-string playing videos but yours is the only one where someone doesn't shred all over fretboard retardedly :)
Would you mind throwing together a tab for this? Id like to try that intro riff. Im screwing with tunings so if i could use this to compare it to it would be helpful?
hey man I'm about to get an 8 core mac pro In about a week , and I got pro tools 9, we should record some beautiful music that could tame a wild beast
@666munky6 it stays in tune very well once the strings are done stretching. i like for the strings to sort of give way a certain amount when i pick, and on a longer scale i find myself picking harder so the strings give as much as on a standard scale guitar, but even with this harder picking, i dont have to tune this guitar very often at all.
sorry to hate on mid scoops but when I first started listening I was like " what did he forget to put in cause my head is about to explode?" then I realized it was a mid scoop
@TheHatChannel i assure you a mid scoop was not intended here. at this time i didnt have a great way of recording good distorted tone. still don't actually :p
@ilikebeer basically its the sound you get when you completely cut out all of the mids and if you do this on a graphic equalizer it looks like somethings been "scooped" out from the middle hence the name mid scoop
hey man I really enjoyed this tune. I think you should actually think about making this music primarily or something cause you do have the playing ability and the songwriting skills. also you sould definitely put a coldsweat in that bridge haha. I make a similiar kind of music and I have made best experiences with it sofar cause its so damn clear and warm at the same time!
@WARinMYhead1 Man there are TONS of options for 8 string pups.. I have an agile now with the stock pups and they are good but they do lack a little bit.. I have a custom 8 string on the way with a pair of cold sweats that should completely destroy the agile stocks.
@WARinMYhead1 bareknuckles are awesome as hell. you should look into them. theyre website does advertise that they have 8 string pickups but they do. everyone puts them in there haha
@deathcore1239 yeah i have a miracle man in my 7 string. but BKPs are just too expensive for me to think about putting them in all of my guitars like i want to!
wow sick guitar man, i never heard of Agile guitars, and dunno where to get em :P did you order it? it looks like a beast that can beat you up easily (so it fits to you haha :D)
@REAanimations Well I own two LTDs and one schecter and I used to own an ibanez. I'd say this one is on par with the mid to upper midrange models of each of those brands. The neck isn't incredibly thick. It's no Wizard/Wizard II but its pretty flat and I find it very easy to reach all of the strings. My hands and fingers are probably about average size. The scale length on this one is 28 5/8"s and it took some time to get adjusted to it.
@REAanimations I was looked at a Schecter C-7 before I bought my Agile. The C-7 plays like complete shit, so I took a shot on the Agile. Best decision I have ever made.
@mrhensonandmrhartzog yah man i played drums and guitar on this and mixed it all in sony acid music studio. im still new to recording and im doing it all through headphones so im having a little trouble getting a final guitar tone thats great. plus, its a lot harder to EQ for these new low notes that ive never had access to before! if you havent already done so, you should check out the vid of me doin this drum track.
fuck where do you 8-string youtube guys learn to play guitar? fuck thats awesome!

jonrusch92 5 months ago
@jonrusch92 in my case its with a low F since the whole thing is 1/2 step down.

Sounds way better than my 6 string in drop f with a 68.

Sick dude : > I want 8 strings guitar too D:

That's pretty cool. The way you used some clean tones with distorted ones, that is.
It's more interesting than all the 8 string chugging we have scattered all over YT.

@WARinMYhead1 If you want to use software, I've had great success with Line 6 POD Farm. It's like 50 bucks and totally worth it.

What are agiles like? Are they better than schecter Icanez and ESP would you say? And this may sound like a weird question but do you have big hands?
