What keeps fascinating me is that MA has always succeeded in keeping a very clear sound when playing live...whereas many other death metal bands tend to drown in an completely overexpanded bass, MA keeps understanding the concept of keeping the volume of all instruments 'understandable' to the ear!

@minusss666 While I understand what you are saying, in his defence that was 15 - 20 years ago. Remember he's not as young as he used to be, age will play a part, not only mentally but also physically. I'm not saying he is unfit but it is quite a long time and it can take it's toll. Also, I'm sure he's not there to 'pay his bills'. Death metal musicians do it because they love it. Perhaps David just 'fell out' with death metal for a while? There is no fantastic money to be made in death metal.

Now if only they'd get it together and make new album that would rival the old stuff... *sigh* David sounds like he's channeling the late, great Chuck Schuldiner these days vocally, which is NOT a bad thing--though I do miss the ultimate Unholy Grail of demonic power he was back in the day. MA still have it and how!
