@bigalli100 Thanks for the comment Allan. The Mic is an SE Electronics 2200a. It's a large bodied condenser mic (you need phantom power). To be honest I bought it a fair few years ago because it was the cheapest decent condenser mic at the time! It does suit the McIlroy, though. I find that putting the mic in line with the 12th fret and pointing it towards the soundhole gives the best results All the best for Xmas and the New Year.

why actually do you turn the mic updown?

@theriven1 My micstand, even when set to it's minimum height is too long to get the mic at the right height. I used to balance the stand at an angle until I discovered that the mic could be turned round to lower it!
